increasing rate of mortgage defaults were one of the catalysts to the near financial collapse in 2008/2009.
100% rate of mortgage defaults means certain global financial collapse.
everything is built on confidence - if you loan a dollar, you're going to get it back.
if you loan a dollar and no one pays it back, no one loans any money.
credit markets freeze. no loans, means businesses stop.
Well, at least then we wouldn't be left holding the bag.
Oh, I just thought that I'd share. I went to my material yard to make a purchase the other day and I took notice of some really nice looking marble. I asked about it and I was told that it was for a school that's being built.
The architect hand picked over a 100k worth of Italian Marble and turned down the less expensive Chinese marble that was a tenth of the price. I've seen quite a few new schools continue to go up. The argument that is constantly waged is that the money is already in the system and if they don't use it, they'll lose it.
Well, in my opinion, when you don't need something you return it so that you may afford your prior obligations. Maybe they should lose it and maybe we'll be able to retain many of the good teachers, schools and programs.
Oh, for the record. Teachers have already been given notice that class sizes will be doubling to make way for those kids that are transferring from closing schools, or from other classes. Sports in the Inland Empire are being taken away as well.
Piss on the quality of education that everyone's been banging their heads about, because it's going to hell in a hand basket.
Now, why should we support the criminals that are stealing from us, left and right. Their robbing us in our sleep. It's a joke. If everyone made a statement about their concerns in the manner that best affected their reasoning, well, maybe then they would understand that they work for us and not the other way around.
I'm in support of this completely. We the people are constantly mislead by the corrupt politicians, bankers, pharma companies and the likes. Nobody listens to the people. They lead us to believe that they do, but they really don't. How many times have we been promised the world, only to be let down time and time again. We vote these bastards in office based on the dreams they promote while in the running and once they get elected, our dreams become nightmares that stab us in the back.
So, how best to make a statement. Well, this is the best idea yet. What are they going to do if everyone did the same? Hell, what could they do? Maybe we should start trading dirt instead of money. I'd like to see them take control of that one.
Might as well ask what would happen if Americans took all the top bankers and financial execs and hold them hostage until they stop influencing Washington for ill.
That's called a revolution, which takes not only a collective mentality but collective cooperation. We could also bring the fed. gov't. to its kness if we all quit paying our taxes, but the risk is sticking your individual neck out there with the possiblility that no one else will.
OK. DUMB ASS. My material yard is both a plaster and stone yard. You can keep shopping where all the other dumb asses shop, at the DEPOT, or LOWES. I'll get the name of the school tomorrow. Then you can shit on yourself with your potty mouth. The proof is in the taste of the pudding and you'll get your bullshit nice and warm so you can taste and savor your own words.
By the way, do your own research and quit relying on the tubes disinformation to represent what's supposed to be original thought from that brain of yours. A liar, I'm not. By the way, if you drove a fraction of the miles that I drive in a day through the many cities and neighborhoods that I do, you too would see construction at these schools.
Hell, look what they just wasted an ungodly amount of money on down on Wilshire Blvd where the Ambassador hotel once sat. http://articles.latimes.com/2009/sep/09/entertainment/et-ambassador9
Opened in 2009 with no direct shortage of funds. Imagine all the jobs they could have saved had they not so wastefully spent it. Hell, there's another new school that also opened up on Willshire and Arlington area and there's an older school that's just a couple blocks South of it.
That one opened a few years back too. Now that makes great sense. Instead of expanding on one lot, then took another lot over. From here on in, every time I find a school that's under construction, I'll be posting it, especially since these are slightly older ones.
In some way's I would not be suprised. It's very strange to me that the government is involved in the lending business via encouraging homeownership. Here we have a mix of the Corporatly held Federal Reserve which is owned by member banks. Which ones you can guess at know one seems to pin that one down.
Then we have the government which insures FHA loans. Add to that Fannie and Freddie not to mention the FHMLA. It's a confusing drama. A government that gave over printing money to Private banks. Gave up their right to make the money in this country. The politicians stare at us like owls wondering why we don't get it. Then toss Ron Paul in front of us saying he will get back the right for the government to make money instead of the Private Corporate Banks. Which they gave away back when.
When are they going to stop calling it the Federal Reserve Bank. Treating us like we are nitwits. By calling it Federal. It's not Federal. Its owned by the Banks. They hold all the voting shares. If we did not have the internet. We probably would not even know that. Given the way those newshounds on TV lick anyones bowl clean who writes them a check. Ignoring us and feeding us a bunch of crap news.
Lastly, I have a great relationship with my material yards. We're all friends. Yeah, they did disclose it to me, because the marble was beautiful. They couldn't believe that the architect had to have it sourced from Italy either. They offered the same from the China and it was turned down. PERIOD. You must work for NBC, CBS, ABC, or the likes.
What if all the renters get guns, find a nice house in a nice neighborhood, kick the squatters out and move in? That'd really show the self-entitled, want-something-for-nothing crowd who's boss. If getting a free house is the name of the game, then I want mine.
Well, if there's anything that we really need, IT'S CHANGE. We the people need to take back our country and if stone walling them by not making a mortgage payment is what it's all about, then so be it.
The banks (Fed) bail themselves out with our tax dollars. Now if someone doesn't see the crime in that, then I don't know what the hell is wrong with them. It's to bad we don't have a say in where our tax dollars go.
Hell, I know a few people and a few states that could desperately use it. Instead, it goes to everyone that I don't know. Those who are living high on the hog are still living high on the hog.
They just don't get it. They don't get that we the people truly are in charge. We just lack direction and good leadership to drive us forward in a sound peaceful revolt. Violence doesn't hurt these people, they've got well paid high dollar prostitutes defending them, but taking their money away does.
Who ever can bring some rock solid spine and change to the table for the 2012 elections is going to get my vote. I'm sick and tired of the weasels and liars who are whining and whining on our dollars. NO MORE SQUEAKY WHEELS GETTING OIL.
Yes it is time for a major reset and this scenario will do nicely. No bloodshed, no carnage (we hope).
Let's put the power back in the peoples hands. Let's make May the first month of "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to support these insane bankers anymore' and not pay our mortgages. And maybe June, July, August ..... too.
Stop paying federal taxes too while we're at it.
What really gets me is who owned all of the land in the United States. To sell it to a bank in the first place? Then in turn sell it to you. The indians? Sure.
Politicians - pointless for me anyway. Nothing but a waste of time. There is no money in it for me. Not worth investing my time in. Most watch them for self-interactive entertainment. Again just a waste of valuable time. Who cares if they elect Erckle or Jim Bakker from the PTL club. I don't. They never gave me any money. You probably got nothing from them either. More than likely.
My carp about the FEDERAL Reserve is that it is not a FEDERAL entity. But a group of banks. Why spoof the the by calling it FEDERAL. Because we would be pissed off if we knew otherwise. Screw you government. For letting your country go into debt to a bunch of printers. Your incompetent, stupid and easily taken in.
Hey if the houses once again go completely negative equity that means deals for me. For the others of you out there. That means you don't have to pay the interest on a 200k loan. Possibly getting the same house for 75k or maybe even 50k.
then I want mine.
And there's the truth. All the talk about deadbeats and morality is BS.
In theory it would create banking chaos, but it would throw out all the rules of contract law creating even greater chaos to the benefiit of none.
One more thing. I talked about this on the OC register this morning. PRICE FIXING. Supposdly its illegal. Things like the commodity markets exsist. Why. I guess everyone that sells things like oil. Are bound for some uknown reason. To obey and fix their prices to what oil sells for a barrell.
Heres the thing. What if someone wants to undercut everyone else? Don't you find it just a tad strange. That gas is the same price virtually at BP, Shell, Standard etc? It's damn fine the whole thing is so organized. But as we can well see. There are many countries that produce oil. Would not it be just as good. To do away with standards set for oil prices?????? Then there might be some competition. Why don't the morons in D.C. ever suggest something like that. Yea that just might be an idea. No price fixing based on indicators.
Coke is the same price as Pepsi. One bag of potato chips is the same as the other. Same as bread etc. Then there are the cheap off brands that are produced by the big boys anyway. It's all so convienent. It's all right there. Deal is you pay out of the nose for there markups in time and labor.
As I see it the people in D.C. only care about the people that put food in their dog bowl. They should just have doggie bowls that say FIDO IS A GOOD DOG - CONGRESSMAN - WASHINGTON DC. On them.
If pass behavior is any indication, they would take money from renters and give them to home debtors to pay banks back.
Thread is over and done in one. Well played.
What you should ask is ‘what is EVERYONE UPSIDE DOWN on a mortgage stopped paying?’ which is what is/will happen.
1/3 of the country has a mortgage. 1/4 of those people are underwater. Try again.PockyClipsNow says
Loan mods
special programs to rent to defaulted loanowners
endlessly postponed foreclosures (free house….until the sheriff shows up….he may never in many cases)Its worth repeating all the insane bailouts every time you can.
Yeah, that's not gonna happen. People can pay their bills or not, but they don't deserve any bailouts.
What if all the renters get guns, find a nice house in a nice neighborhood, kick the squatters out and move in? That’d really show the self-entitled, want-something-for-nothing crowd who’s boss. If getting a free house is the name of the game, then I want mine.
And there’s the truth. All the talk about deadbeats and morality is BS.
So then you are completely unfamiliar with sarcasm? Interesting.
So Price Fixing is considered MONOPLISTIC. Someone somewhere got the balls in congress to get that one written. SO EVERYONE IGNORE IT. Gas is the same at all gas stations. Tomato's and beans are the same at just about every store. So are candy bars. Seafood, steak everything. Even freakin Wendys is the same as Mcdonalds in pricing. Buy some french frys if you don't believe me.
I could care less about some bullshit in some forgein country. How about enforcing the laws. THAT ARE ON THE BOOKS FOR YOUR PEOPLE.
Hey can we compete with the TONS AND TONS of interest money that the FEDERAL reserve that mulitplys dollars like jack rabbits then lends it out and sucks it all back in. NOPE WE CAN'T. HOW MANY CORPORATIONS DO THE BANKS THAT MAKE UP THE FEDERAL RESERVE OWN. OR ARE AFFILIATED WITH. YOU PROBABLY CAN'T COUNT THAT HIGH. NOPE WE CAN'T. However if the governent made the money. Did not lend it out at interest. Just maybe we would start buying and selling to each other. The money system makes it very difficult to participate in anything but that system. True anywhere you go. Lets work on price fixing Mr. Congressman. We can start after your finished giving head to your banker friends.
AFTER ALL WHAT THE CORPORATE MASK FOR BUT COVER ALL THE BULLSHIT CORPORATIONS THESE BANKS HAVE. SO WE DON'T GET PISSED OFF AND DEMAND THE GOVERNMENT TAKE OVER THE MONEY SUPPLY. You think we are stupid?
Back to Patrick's original question: What would happen?
It would be 800 A.D. redux. We'd all be serfs. The nobility would be the giant banks.
Pardon me, that wasn't Patrick's original question but dcllee which BTW I thought was a good one.
The Federal Reseve started when congressmen started teabagging bankers. I think it was in Philadelphia. Or maybe that was jackal island. Now the to big to bend over and take it banks own just about everything of note. If this ever was and independant nation it sure was not in my time anyway.
It not that people want in. It's the fact that free thinking independent minded people know they can compete. The deal is they can't the way this FEDERAL they spoof the FEDERAL part Reserve can mulitply money lend it out suck it back in like a whale. Then they spit out every type of business we could possibly get into. With the way it is set up they have made sure your either dependant on banks their corporations. Or they make sure they have every base covered. Notwithstanding the fact you have to have one of their loans even to get close to being competitive.
I can almost see the greedy little bastards rubbing their hands together when they knew they could put this system in place. Knowing they had the blow job congressmen they could count on to help them. It sucks.
I can tell you right now if these banks came down. If the government had the guts to put them out of business. If the government made the money forgot about interest and loaning money. We would have every kind of business you could think of. Buying, selling, building for each other instead of going to them and their closed looped system. Which to me is nothing but stealing and contrary to everything in the constitution. The politicians are garbage for selling us out and keeping this shitty game going for those bastards.
Or you can get millions of dollars in loans from the bank and run for congress your choice.
Lastly, I have a great relationship with my material yards. We’re all friends. Yeah, they did disclose it to me, because the marble was beautiful. They couldn’t believe that the architect had to have it sourced from Italy either. They offered the same from the China and it was turned down. PERIOD. You must work for NBC, CBS, ABC, or the likes.
Ignore him dude. Its well known LA spent somethign like $500M on a new school only to lay off teachers. Their excuse? "It comes from a different fund". Reality, somebody's buddy has a marble company in Italy. Duh!
I agree with the Power theory. You can do what you want, the Power will always let you pay for it. Unless you take the Power, nothing you do will help mankind. If you squat, then the Power will bailout themselves yet another time. Anyone who works and is productive will foot the bill. You either take the Power or become a drop out. Otherwise, you're always being assailed. Financial servitude == fractional reserve banking system where select few get to print money at will and give it to themselves. One major bank has about $525B in Fed Funds.
ArtimusMaxtor got it right. To hell with the government.
Well I just got a letter from the IRS. They have decided to reduce my 50k lien to the original amount of 4k. It's a limited time offer so I must hurry. I'm so excited. I can't figure out what they have a lien on of course. They told me it is a lien so I guess I should believe them. They have been sending me letters on this for 10 years. Threatened all kinds of crap. One guy even stopped by I told him to get lost. I guess I was in a bad mood that day.
Hey Fifi you sound like an upstanding taxpayer why don't you take care of this for me.
Better yet I will ignore it. They actually stopped sending me letters for a couple of years to save postage I suppose. Looks like they need the money anyway. I'm not going to pay this I guess. They put a notice of lien on one of my properties. I just went down to the deeds room and had the girl toss it in the garbage. Notice of lien. I guess it does nothing but gives you a notice that their could be a lien. Which really dosen't mean anything without a judgment. Yawn. A neighbors garbage truck just ran over a french poodle. I hope they have insurance. Anyway I am going to get loaded tonight. I hope you can manage without me.
History of the corrupt Money Changers and The Fed- Watch #1 first- it's short, then watch #2 MONEY MASTERS (incredible)

Ok, as promised. I spoke to my material supplier today and the school that's getting the $112.00 per square foot marble is Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga. Also, http://www.mccarthy.com/ These guys are building a couple schools right now in California and their part of unified school districts.
I'm certain that if someone called anonymously and asked for the address of the schools that are presently under construction that they'd probably tell you exactly where. FACT!
By the way, my apologies for calling everyone a dumb ass for shopping at the Depot or Lowes. I too shop there on occasion. My point was that those places dumb down products by packaging and counter service. Real material yards tend to be more personalized and helpful, especially for contractors. There are also price breaks awarded to the purchase power of each contractor as well.
Max to tell you the truth I would like to punch one of them in the mouth. They sold the fine people of this country down the road with this banking system. Now we have a country filled with people that owes everyone and owns virtually nothing. The majority of them anyway. There aren't many exceptions to that. To tell you the truth if the whole thing caves in so what. You could go into business for yourself and actually make out then. I know I would like to expand. I have some different ideas of different businesses I would like to start. However there is really no point. I have to hit like a shark on these bastards to get a piece of them.
I don't like borrowing money ever. Simply because it costs out the ass to do so. Supply and demand works really well when you have sucked in all the cash to buy all the supplies and manpower lets put it that way. It's a tough beast to go against.
Ignore him dude. Its well known LA spent somethign like $500M on a new school only to lay off teachers. Their excuse? “It comes from a different fundâ€. Reality, somebody’s buddy has a marble company in Italy. Duh!
Yeah, it just pisses me off. My wife is a teacher for LAUSD and many of her friends have received their slips. Parents and the likes should seriously revolting. If they can take the jobs away from the people, then they should be able to take the money back from the other accounts. We the people want a real refund and we want it in the form of justice.
So far our law makers keep making the laws that they break. So far there's only one scum bag paying for a Ponzi Scheme and the rest are walking. Anything that "we the people" can do to financially hurt the bureaucratic bastards can only help. Some say that we'll destroy our system. Really and truly, they've already destroyed it. What could be worse? If anything, they'd at least know that "we the people" do have a voice and a right.
If we're going to start over then we should do just that and START OVER. I'd rather start on a fresh untainted soil then one that brings forward the same corruption and greed that we presently have.
America really does not deserve this banking system. It really does not. I can do a lot better. Why let some one else take up if we ever get rid of the. If the government made the money. Forgot all the loans and the interest. Did not particpate in all of that. We would be much better off. We would actually trade with one another. ACTUALLY OWNING WHAT WE HAVE.
I say we actually have enough people here in this country now to make it work without these banks. Who needs them. Not only that we have the houses to. HAHAHAHA
Whats really amusing is to watch all of these banks chained off of the large voting shareholders of the FEDERAL reserve. Suck up all of these small banks. Not to mention the assets. It's an interesting game. The FDIC took a limited role of course. They aren't being nice guys of course. It's just that they have the means via the supposed role of FEDERAL BANK. To suck up everything in their path. They have built this place up enough. I say why not get rid of them. Let the government print AND coin the money. (they already coin they just don't print). Sneaky. After all we paid for it all mostly when you think about it.
You working your ass off sweating paying off that 30 year note. Not to mention all of the credit cards and overpriced goods. 2.95 for a lb of tomatos, fuck. 20k for a auto that went for 6k. 15 years ago. Please.
This isn't a commune after all. Heck except for the part about coin money. I guess thats what they ment anyway. Don't you or maybe not but hey. Why not. Then we are a country not running our asses off for them to pay them back.
Here's a good perspective on how they're stealing from us. We voluntarily sign on to a loan, that is presented to us under the characterization that leads us to believe that we own our homes. OWN is the key word there. Semantics aside, we never really own our home until it's paid for free and clear and even then, you still don't own it 100%. If you don't pay your taxes on it, then you still don't own it.
The crime is this. We take on these monthly payments for what ever duration we've negotiated. We've dumped countless hours and countless moneys into our houses in a feverish attempt to create the illusion of a home that meets our lifestyle wants, needs and desires.
Then one day and 25 years into your 30 year note you get canned. You lose your home back to the banks. They get the to start all over again with the exact same product that they started off with 25 years earlier. They find a new buyer at the going rate, despite the moneys that are really owed and away they go again with a new client, who has purchased it under the same con that you did 25 years earlier.
Only this time they get all of the expenses and improvements that you put into it coupled with your soul. In the end, who is the winner? The banks. Owe, lets not discount the large amount of interest that was made on it as well in those 25 years. That means that they made money hand over foot, time and time again and still walked away with the product.
They're are very few homes that truly merit even a fraction of what they're charging for them. The real con is the Location, Location, Location mentality coupled with the Supply and Demand wild card. They've played a fiddle far to long and now we're coming out of the trance they put us in and it's going to get really scary for them sooner then later.
We've been dumbed down far to long and I for one am not drinking the Kool-Aid anymore. I've had my eyes opened and it's about time that we the people take our country back. These lobbyists need to go too. I'm also a believer in the Fair Tax Act. While it may not be perfect, it's definitely a more than huge step in the right direction.
We need to hit the banks and The Fed where it hurts and teach them a lesson once and for all. The conspiracy theorists are miles ahead of all of us on this front. While everyone thought they were nuts, it appears, that all that they've been proclaiming all along, is actually true. It's an F--ing joke.
That's impossible. Just a waste of time to think about that. It won't happen ever. If it ever do, then home ownership is the last thing I'd worry about.
on the original topic line:
I find it a similar view as "what if everyone drives 80, they cant stop us all". And, if you drive I5 you will see lots of folks who feel this way.
Or, the way invaders from mexico see our border enforcement may be an even better example. They know they stand a very low chance of being stopped, and so they chance it.
So, maybe this not paying could work .... or, maybe, those other areas I mentioned need some better means of enforcement?

What happens if all home "owners" (those who still have a mortgage) decided collectively that they would stop making payments each month? As we can see the banks are already struggling to re-sell the homes people are walking way from. It will really show these bankers who's the boss, when they are left with a bunch of wood and brick. Would the government step in and make people pay their mortgage?
