There is a special irony when teachers do stupid things, though of course they are human too. The example I always think of is a teacher who camped out for days at Best Buy for a "Black Friday" deal on a TV. She could have got a smaller TV for the same price but no, she was determined to keep up with the Joneses borrowing and spending to the max and get the biggest TV she possibly could. And, she spent days sitting on a sidewalk to do it. She could have devoted that time to tutoring children, even babysitting might have made enough $ to buy a bigger TV, but no. She had been lured in by the same stupid ad campaign that drew countless millions to waste billions of person-hours waiting for the big sale, the chance to pretend to greater wealth than they really have. She was no worse than everyone else doing the same thing, it just felt worse because it's obviously a bad example, or from mass retailers' POV a good example, to recruit another generation of borrow&spend lemmings.

But seriously, a 23-year-old teacher is one year out of college and is probably still in the college coed party all the time phase of her life. Education majors were all woo girls in my college. It's not surprising that they don't grow out of it within a year of graduating.

That's what I'm talking about. The whole problem in this situation is that our retarded society thinks that teachers should be young, virgin women who exemplify chastity. That's not the purpose of teachers. The purpose of teachers is to teach. Their sex lives are totally fucking irrelevant to their job, as is any porn they do professionally or as amateurs.

Oh, but won't the children lose respect for her as an authority figure if they see her boobies? She can still dish out detention, can't she? The children need to learn the lesson that today's Playmate of the Year can be your boss tomorrow so you better shut the fuck up and deal with the fact you saw her naked and not let it interfere with your career (educational or job career).

And people wonder why our educational system is all fucked up. It's because people just don't get what's important and what isn't.

I'm surprised so many of you are okay with this. You really wouldn't have a problem if this person were teaching your child? You wouldn't be worried that your child might see his/her favorite teacher tweeting about her party life and want to emulate the behavior? You wouldn't worry at all that your child might have trouble distinguishing the difference between things that might be okay for adults, but aren't okay for children?

I like to have adult fun, too... But I hardly think it's appropriate to do it in front of my children... Or tell them stories about "that time I was sooooo drunk... what was that guy's name who held my hair back while I was throwing up in the bushes in my front yard.... My dad was soooo pissed!"

Yes, I'm human, but I have a responsibility to set an example to the children who look up to me and see me as someone they might want to grow up and be like. This teacher wasn't drawing from her experiences to help a young person who might be getting into trouble. She was advertising.

If she wants to be a party girl, I couldn't care less. But that's not the image I would want put out there in front of kids. It's not a big deal.... She just needs to find another line of work where part of the understood job description isn't, "role model."

Go ahead and call her a woman, with modern feminism the way it is, who said girls have to grow up anymore.

I do know that when it comes to the educational system, or working within one, be it grade school up to college level, if they decide to fire you, they will. I've seen lots of people go down, it hurts more when your career is already established but this girl will be able to bounce back.

Seriously, either she's incredibly stupid or she lacks good judgement. She was informed at the time she was hired that there is a code of conduct that includes not posting anything from social media not connected with the school, but she crossed that line when she repeatedly discussed bringing drugs onto campus.

She also made some other comments that won't be ignored, such as: “I live a double life. Teacher by day, stoner/raver/rager by night."

Very poor judgement.

I would rather have her sending my daughters home with a pair of booty shorts with the words "Baby Gurl" on the back. Than a T-Shirt with "Legalize Gay marriage". But truth be told ALL teachers should leave their lifestyles, political views, and personal philosophy at home. What they do there, I can care a less and I don't even care how much stupid shit they post of Facebook, Twitter or any other social network site. They like everyone elese are entitled to a private life outside of work(This is the real tragedy with our society). But they don't have one damn right to teach anything outside of the curriculum.

Apply this rule across the board, then the standardized testing goes away too.

NO not at all, I spent a few years growing up in a town with 0 black population in South Carolina. (I'm originally from Jacksonville Fla, and we didn't seek this town out, we just ended up there.) This was 30+ years ago.
I remember it being a big deal locally(not for my family mind you) that one of the teachers who lived a few towns away, was married to a black guy. All of the girls at school didn't go seek out a black boyfriend.
While I realize that this NOW seems so distantly different. At the time, it seemed like it was a bigger scandal.

Children emulate their parents first and foremost. If you are concerned about bad influences on you children then take an active role in being a good influence on them. You'll find that as a parent, you have way more sway with how your kids turn out than any movie, teacher, friend, game, or song.

Of course, children don't listen to what parents say. Children listen to what parents do. So if you want to encourage your children to learn, then spend time learning new things yourself.

Bull shit! Kids learn from other kids that were already corrupted by some other kid.

I moved around alot when I was a kid and missed a lot of the basics, yet had some pretty awesome teachers that helped me catch up. I still remember their names and only got to thank a couple of them after I grew up. One of them, I met her son. I told him that she was the "meanest teacher in the school." and that I learned more from her than ever before or after. He said that she was the coolest mom, but often ignored him (his perception as a little kid) to grade papers. She was dedicated, caring, and 5'2" of pure authoritarian terror in the classroom.

Her family had money; she could have worked anywhere else and made more money at the time, but chose to teach. I'm glad she did, because otherwise my grammar would be horrible and my posts would be laughable.
