So you can't carry a concealed weapon and now you can't carry one openly? Does that not constitute a ban on guns? I mean, you can own one, but not take it somewhere to use it? How is this constitutional? California law is illegal.
We killed children in Iraq for no good reason. Why not here?
It's not as profitable here.

This is the same uber democrat crybaby state, that claims to be saving the little guy, from the republicans. They also voted themselves prop 13 lol
What a bunch of hypocritical retards
Only the union police gangs should have guns, the state have all the power. Then we will all be safe and happily prosperous
and he instead turned around and pointed it at you
Nobody said he pointed gun on police. He was just executed by deputieS for not obey commend .
The police are saying that.
From the article:
"Sonoma County sheriff's deputies had repeatedly asked the boy, Andy Lopez, to drop the weapon, but instead he raised it in their direction, police said at a news conference Wednesday."
Now the question is, do you believe the police's account.

Yes, in California you can take your gun somewhere to use. However, it must be unloaded and in a locked container (FYI, glove boxes don't count as locked containers).

Your ignorance is magnificent.
Sonoma County sheriff's deputies had repeatedly asked the boy, Andy Lopez, to drop the weapon, but instead he raised it in their direction, police said at a news conference Wednesday.
Why the fuck should we believe the police when their standard operating procedure is to lie to cover their crimes and numerous times video evidence has proven that the police completely fabricate stories that do not remotely resemble the truth?

That is not what the article says.

I think police are quite capable of lying, but so far, nobody has questioned their version of the events, so I don't see any reason to disbelieve that the kid pointed the gun in their direction.
What is you reason for disbelieving that? That you don't think it's possible for a 13 year old to point a gun at someone?
Yeah I wasn't there, but some past incidents play like this. Adrenalin and post-action edit of reports can make it seem like things played out much longer than they actually did.
Some do, but some play out like the cops said it did. I don't understand how you're ready to convict the cops of murder before you know any facts about the incident. Are you saying that if a policeman shoots a person, he is automatically guilty of murder?
but the cops should be using shields or something during these kind of exchanges
Yes, police should walk around carrying shields at all times and just let people shoot at them. Wow, you really are a fucking moron, you know that?

Some say CA legislature have set themselves up to a beating similar to what Illinois have received in courts. IL is now shall-issue state, CA could be next.
FYI, glove boxes don't count as locked containers
Awww dang. How am I going to maneuver in CA traffic now?

The rule doesn't apply to crew-served weapons, so bring your GAU-19 next time you visit CA.
I am no dead ringer for the cops, but in this case, what can anyone expect them to do?
I knew from a younger age without having to be told, don't even THINK about playing with a toy gun, with people who have REAL guns!
Have to wonder what the parents are like. "Son, here's a realistic looking rifle to play with around the neighborhood. Oh, also take this toy pistol and tuck it into your waistband. It is your right, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise, not even the police!"
I agree with the statist apologists, that for the crime of pointing around a toy gun, the punishment, for children, should be execution

Funny how you are all on the band wagon when a cop shoots a 13 year old Latino boy who hurt nobody, but you want the death penalty when a Latino man shoots an aggressively violent young black man! Aren't you even concerned about what race the policeman was?
A good anecdote beats a 10,000-sample statistic every time!
As a human, I find I can draw all sorts of detailed and firm conclusions about society, the government, and how nothing is as good as it used to be when I was younger, from just one good horror story.
Who wants to argue over this one?
I'll start: we can't know what the police or the kid were thinking... blah blah blah... but if you disagree with me on the implications of this incident, you're a doofus.
Also: this incident provides support for my political preconceptions, regardless of whatever those actually are. If you disagree, you're simply a retard.
At least the story could have ended well if he were to have received a sky burial via turkey vultures devouring his corpse and releasing his soul.
I am no dead ringer for the cops, but in this case, what can anyone expect them to do?
Have you ever heard about warning shut into the air?
A pellet gun isn't a toy it's a gun that shoots pellets that can hurt people and put eyes out.
The adult that bought a replica AK 47 for their kid to play with should be shot repeatedly in the eye with it.

You mean a warning shot into the air? Bullets fired into the air do come down and at times kill/injure people. Warning shots into the ground could ricochet, and also kill/injure someone. There are also issues with trying to shoot someone in the limbs.
I am hesitant to believe a cops story unless it is backed by other evidence. Until more is known, I am on the fence as to if this was a tragic accident or trigger happy cops trying to cover their tracks with a fanciful Zimmerman style story.

It sounds like it may have been an airsoft gun. Also, the gun was missing the red tip identifying it as a "toy."
If we ever lower ourselves to take the side of a 13 year old "teen" vs a respectable member of law enforcement community, we will aid in the destruction of free market capitalism and will end up one step closer to muslim socialism. The fact that muslims fought the commies in afghanistan in the 1980s is completely irrelevant and besides the point. No commie afghan puppet graves were ever dug up and desecrated, it was a false flag planted by communists.
I'm an avid gun enthusiast but toy guns that look real are incredibly irresponsible. Kids shouldn't be taught that guns are toys.
For those who did not see the video of police shooting a completely harmless man in Dallas, I refer you to another thread

Yes, and from what I understand it is illegal to have a toy gun without at least a red tip -- many are made out of clear plastic, etc. (as was the hand gun tucked in this kids pants).
I don't think we know why this kids gun was missing the red tip.
At least the story could have ended well if he were to have received a sky burial via turkey vultures devouring his corpse and releasing his soul.
Thus spoke Zoroaster.

The fact that police officers are professional liars has been proofed many times.

When did I say those things? Do you perchance have me confused with someone else?
will the real AK please stand up...
Kid was told by civilian to get rid of the toy..
Ismael Mondragon told NBC Bay Area that he saw Andy moments before he was killed with the gun in his hand. Mondragon said he warned the boy to get rid of such a real-looking weapon.
"I saw him with that rifle in his left hand," Mondgragon said. "And I said, 'Throw that thing away, the police are right behind you.' "
But Andy still had the rifle in his hand at 3:14 p.m. when deputies spotted him at Moorland and West Robles avenues.

ALL of them?

Darwinism strikes again.

My observation is that the dirty rotten liar rate is 100% when it comes to protecting themselves or their fellow "made men" brethren. If you are not in their gang you don't count.
Wow, nice Chinese knock off. To bad, but the kid should have done as he was told.
I've had two cops with guns pointed at my face with fingers on triggers, believe me .. I did what I was told, which was to take my hands out of my pockets very slowly and put them over my head.
To bad, but the kid should have done as he was told.
I think there is a good chance he did, or tried to. I would imagine he was scared.
What should this guy have done differently to save his life?

I can see that, to scared to drop the gun, maybe being his favorite toy, possibly frozen with fear?, I can not disagree that he died thinking wtf did I do to deserve this.

Well, this seems a little hinky:
A timeline released Thursday by the Santa Rosa police shows that only 10 seconds passed from the moment that the sheriff's deputy and his partner called dispatch to report a suspicious person to the moment they called back to say shots had been fired.
My observation is that the dirty rotten liar rate is 100% when it comes to protecting themselves or their fellow "made men" brethren. If you are not in their gang you don't count.

Dozens of combat-clad police officers, deputies and federal agents swarmed a southwest Santa Rosa neighborhood Wednesday morning in the region's largest-ever operation against residential marijuana gardens.
A team of 150 law enforcement officers raided 32 homes off Moorland Avenue immediately south of the Corby Auto Mall, where the pungent smell of marijuana hung heavily in the air and backyard marijuana plants towered over fences in plain view from the street.
Law officials, who suspected gang involvement with at least some of the gardens, arrested 13 people on a variety of drug and weapons charges and seized more than 300 plants from 32 locations, said Sonoma County sheriff's Lt. Dennis O'Leary.
The raids began about 9 a.m. when FBI agents in full military gear ordered residents to leave, then rushed into their homes, most of them modest multi-plex units.
Soon the area was punctuated by the sounds of exploding flash grenades at several homes in the neighborhood, which is bordered by Highway 101 on the east and railroad tracks on the west.
