His father is blaming Tony Stewart for hitting his son after he stepped out onto the racetrack during a race I realize that he's upset - and I don't mean to negate his loss - but how can it be a racecar driver's fault if the guy walked into his car as it rushed past him?

from the article:
"Ward Jr., 20, and Stewart had contact during an Empire Super Sprints Series race in the upstate New York half-mile dirt track. Afterward, Ward got out of his car, ran onto the track and angrily gestured at Stewart. Seconds later, Stewart's right-rear tire struck Ward and threw him an estimated 20 to 30 feet, fatally injuring him."

Hit the brakes while pulling to the left or on a curve, and the tail can come loose or drift right. Let off the gas and you can achieve the same. Stewart may have been trying to evade him.

Stewart could have flattened him in the heat of the moment, but how does one prove that? And training to drive a race car does not qualify you for evadng moving flesh pylons who are furious with you.

I don't have any idea what happened, but I can't see how Stewart had time to plan and execute something malicious.

Seems like Ward made a terrible and fatal decision.

The whole job is stupid: drive cars fast and risk your life. Then to exit the vehicle in a fit of rage is triply so.

I chortled Indian food into my keyboard, dammit!

With the dust at track level, and poor lighting, it's possible Stewart didn't see the guy in the track until the last second, much less identified and therefore aimed for him. I see it as the guy ran toward an open wheel car in a rage like an idiot, and paid the ultimate price.

Ethically, most blame to the fool who runs onto a racetrack, not the race driver who fails to avoid him.

Fuck sports.participants & fans. I can watch little children play many of these games. Anyone involved in sports must have the mind of a child.

"We won,We won."

I didn't see you in the game, ASSHOLE. What's this we shit?

"When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child
: but when I became a man, I put away childish things."

I apologize for not being politically correct & not giving a fuck about one's tender sensibilities.
