Exponential has nothing to do with how contagious it is.
Let's say it doubles every century: that's still an exponential.
Really?

And yet he does not understand the exponential function.
Ladies and Gentlemen: This is the face of the Austrian follower.

Have you been taking grammar lessons from captain "english speaked good here"?
Ok grammar nanny how would you form that sentence?
Properly.
Exactly... The CDC is just doing this to keep the conservatives cowering in their houses so they don't walk the street...
Why would Teabaggers care if Africans die in the millions? They haven't shown much evidence of being overly concerned about this in past.

Actually quite the opposite.

Something I rarely see in the Ds
Typhoid, Malnutrition, Cholera, all much worse than Ebola so far...
Unless you are walking around through sewage and waste barefoot, I see little reason to trouble about Ebola.
"What if it goes airborne"
Diseases don't just go "Airborne" at the drop of a hat. "Hey Herpes, you wanna go airborne this morning?" "Sure, Ebola" If it hasn't happened in tens of thousands of years, it's unlikely to happen tomorrow.

Yah, I don't think those are worse. More widespread, certainly, and also more of a clear and present danger to populations.
Unless Ebola comes to town. Then all bets are off. From all reports, the infection can happen if you so much as touch something an infected person touched. Here, can you imagine using an ATM or card reader at a store? Imagine how many thousands have touched that device. Ebola is scary not just because of this, but because of its high kill rate of 60%, with children and older adults at higher risk. To anyone with children, it's a worst nightmare.
There was a good Frontline documentary following healthcare workers in Sierra Leone, it's only 27 minutes watch it online it's very good.

Of course at that time, they predicted only 20K cases. Healthcare in Africa is overwhelmed and unable to cope. The lack of any sort of real treatment means people don't see any HOPE in going to the hospital.
Meanwhile we drop million-dollar bombs on 3 people in a pickup truck.
