When you hear that Obama has endorsed Clinton, just remember what that really means: nothing.
He endorsed her because she's the nominee, but also because he and others in the administration worked with her extensively over several years, and ended up having a higher opinion of her than they thought possible.
There is other evidence for this belief: during the earlier Hillarycare push in the mid '90s, legislators on both sides of the aisle developed a healthy respect for her competence and work ethic. Much the same happened while she served in the senate.

Democrat politicians have contests to see who can make the most promises in the shortest amount of time, and squeeze the most free shit flogging into even the tiniest sound bite.
Trump is natural born, genetically gifted divvy in insincere promising, that's why they fear him so much.
