There was a Civil War thread already, but I wanted to expand the thinking: as long as we're having a civil war, let's do it right! First, California would have to be broken up into several smaller states, but with conservative oversight, possibly making LA and SF managed territories with limited voting authority. A new Constitutional Amendment mandating English only in all communications and schools would also be in effect. That saves a ton of money.
Annexing parts of Canada and Mexico might be a decent outcome. We could allow liberals who were on the "other side" of the civil war amnesty to migrate to the remains of these two countries. There, they can try out their liberal socialist policies in peace. Biggest Snag: the Brits would object about Canada, but we could cede them Puerto Rico in trade. More beaches. Canada annexation areas: The liveable southern parts of British Columbia, Shale oil areas of Saskatchewan, Toronto, all of the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence Seaway. Montreal is an issue. Dissenters would be forced to migrate elsewhere unless they agree to the English language only. For Mexico: Annex all the Baja, then draw a line across the country to the East Gulf Coast area. Let's call this new area "Texicali" and have it managed by Texas Rangers as a territory. They can root out all the bad drug lords with the newly expanded Texas National Guard. The wall we would build would be much shorter and cheaper!!

No need for that. Just make a deal with Cuba, we send the socialists there, they send us people that want to live under freedom (no state aid of any kind).
No, it’s not possible. There are plenty of red blooded Americans here with lots of guns we aren’t disclosing to the state authorities. We aren’t going to just stand by while such a thing happens.
Let's see … in the last economic downturn we had about 8 million foreclosures. Figure about 3 people per dwelling. That's about 24 million people, and let us double that for the number of renters affected. That means we economically displaced about 50 million people in the most heavily armed country on earth. The number of gun incidents related to this could about be counted on a single hand. Given this, I would say that Americans are massively passive against those in authority.
