The real reason that Democrats believed Blasey-Ford and NOT Reade is twofold:
1)it was always about power, they don’t actually care if women get raped. If their guy is accused they don’t care at all.
2)Blasey-Ford was born an elite, got an elite degree, teaches at an elite university, went to schools on the East Coast. She was one of theirs, a real somebody who matters.
Reade is just a middle class nobody with no elite degree, no pedigree, and no high powered job with high powered connections to political royalty. She doesn’t matter in their world.
That’s all.

I don't know and I don't care. I never thought that even if what Blassey Ford said was true that it was disqualifying. Kavanaugh likes beer and I am sure like just about everybody I know got drunk in high school and did stupid shit.

The second half is unabashed victim blaming and thus more trauma.
