The women do get strong in their own way, but loved the shows Longmire and the current show Yellowstone.

Very strong masculine characters in both shows. When it’s a woman who is strong it’s clearly in feminine ways. For instance the character Beth withstands an attack and rape attempt on her. But she overpowered, beaten to a pulp, and saved by the man that has been looking out for her since she was a kid. It’s portrayed as her surviving through a strong will and not any attempt to make her masculine. Her name is feminine, she uses her sexuality and brains and is in fact mentally and emotionally strong. But she’s a female and doesn’t want to be anything but. She still loves and looks up to her dad, and falls in love with the most traditional alpha male on the show.

Another strange I noticed is Hollywood suggesting incest.

I weep in relief these days when there is a show that isn't a lesbian larp with multiple side orders of delusional ethnic shoe horning and blacks screwing white cheerleaders. The ubiquitous 'black computer genius' who seems to have usurped the thick glasses, kinky haired nerdball white guys really kills it.

One such anti-larp was the (shock) Netflix movie 'The Professor and The Madman' about the origins and tortuous difficulties about compiling the Oxford Dictionary of the English Language from the late 1800s through the 1920s. I don't like Sean Penn, but give the devil his due, he played a good role, and I don't think there was a single shoe horning in the whole movie.

My wife found a bunch of short movies on a site via the library, and we started to enjoy them until getting repeatedly hit with gay bombs of one kind or another, where the movie seems to start out normal, but rapidly becomes nothing other than propaganda for men ass-fucking each other, and how that is "misunderstood". It's not misunderstood, it's only an ancient disgusting vice, perhaps the worst vice aside from pedophilia.

One thing I like about going through The Sopranos episodes is that there is very little of that "shoehorning" (great term!) bullshit. Though there is some. Last episode I saw had to have an obvious lesbian because... why? No reason other than shoehorning.

Yeah, they aren't like that. Usually pointless melodrama. I have found that the various gay melodramas can be fast forwarded through and there isn't even vaguely any loss to understanding the plot arc.
