No regrets at all. Just wish I could afford more ammo! I took the wife out to the range last month and she had a great time and was a good shot.

I am researching 2-3 more guns...fuuuck...it is kinda getting expensive.
Last long gun was SSG-04 which ain't cheap and I have not shot it yet.

Plus with all guns is that missus likes shooting as well, after initial complaining about wasting money.

There are many such as myself that regard the NRA as less about gun rights and more about lining pockets a.k.a. "Negotiating Rights Away". There are plenty of alternatives that do not cede an inch such as GOA, last time I checked.

The NRA has revenues of over $300 million bucks per year.
They can file a lot of lawsuits with that money.
They don’t need my money, and they don’t get any.

NRA would be a lot better if they stopped sending out so much junk mail, raffles, and begging for money in general.

Get some dummy rounds (snap caps). As many as your clip can hold +1 and play around with your gun. Get used to handling it...just as important, even more so, than shooting it imo.

It is not recommended to dry fire your weapon. It can cause issues over time.

This is just basic affirmation of the inalienable natural rights listed in the second amendment. Essentially a state following the code/contract set forth in the constitution for the authority of the federal government to exist. It's mostly true for rimfire. Centerfire guns usually tolerate dry firing pretty well.

Glocks are extremely reliable and I do like my G21 a lot. I wish Glock used single action (SA) triggers instead of a striker fire system. I love how the SA 1911 shoots but they have a much lower capacity if they are chambered in 45 acp. I am actually looking for a good used 1911 chambered in 38 Super to get more capacity and better performance than the 9 mm. The 38 Super ballistics are very close to a 357 Magnum and it uses .357" bullets.

The CMMG Banshee in 9 mm uses Glock 19 magazines. This is also a great option to have in addition to the G19. I just hope the new ATF rule making for AR pistols fails or gets destroyed in court. I don't think SBRs are legal in California (pending final outcome of the 9th Circuit Court regarding ARs).

You can dry fire a glock. Get a 17 though not a 19 unless you have tiny hands.

Walther PPK - shot it recently and liked;
Winchester 94 - I liked John Wayne movies in my younger years;
Either PSL-54 or Zastava M-91 but these are too pricey these days.

I do like a lever gun with a can on the end! Winchester 94 or a Marlin 336 will be awesome. I also recommend that you look at the XS Sight system for them. It adds a rear peep sight and rail on top.

In CA you have to have a registered firearm and unregistered high capacity firearm. It’s the only way to have that level of safety.
