Why was Putin dumb enough to fall into the trap?

If Putin had a crystal ball and could see he would be starting his 4th year of grinding trench warfare with hundreds of thousands of Russian casualties, do you still think he would have chosen to invade? This whole war has been nothing but a major drag and detriment to Russia's quality of life and is accelerating their demographic doom loop by getting so many of their young men dead.

It is not like Ukraine is passing on generous ceasefire proposals made by Putin. Putin hasn't stepped down from his maximal demands, which means the Ukrainians defenders are fighting for their lives. If they surrender, most of Ukrainian civilian and military leadership will end up dead or in a Russian gulag being raped by drunk Russian primitives for the rest of their short lives.

So it is pretty pathetic to read all these American homos sitting comfortably on their couches hectoring Ukrainians who are trying to protect their friends, families and homes.

Let us all just hope real, real hard that the Sainted Comedian and his fellow, non-corruptible Ukrainian patriots continue to get all of the countless BILLIONS in funds that they so desperately need in order to carry on the 'fight' (for maybe the next 20 years). Russians can just go home and stop getting their young men killed in their total fuckup of a war. Yes, Russia's vaunted pride might be hurt that they totally fucked up their invasion and embarrassed themselves to the whole world with their incompetence and corruption - but Russia is not going to face an existential threat of a foreign adversary will try to invade or take their resources.

Whereas, Ukraine hasn't been given any off-ramp to stop defending themselves from Russian invaders. And the short-bus people can't seem to understand why Ukraine won't just roll over a die.

It started as Ukraine war because it was only Ukraine being invaded and bombed. But now Ukie bombard Soviet ports, refineries, power stations, strategic nuclear installations and such as far north as Murmansk and beyond Urals mountains to the west and ZSU regulars are holding former Soviet territory of Kursk for half a year already, lampshading Pukin's subjects and making soap out of their fat, and there is nothing Pukin can do about it. Not even with NoKo troops thrown in. Why? Because Pukin don't have enough men. Why? Because Red Army is losing men 5 to 1. Not my number, mind you, but Trump's adviser's - Lt. Gen. Kellogg.
