Since we know the numbers are going to suck since Peppermint Patty is leading the Amen Corner Media to blame Putin for it:

Frankly, I prefer my spaceship to have big tits and not fake inflated ones.

EDIT - numbers drop:
America goes back to the 80s: Surging gas prices and higher rents push inflation to 41-year high of 8.5% as White House blames it on Putin invading Ukraine
The consumer price index rose 8.5% in March from a year ago, the fastest increase since December 1981
Housing costs, which make up about a third of the index, have escalated and show no signs of cooling
Gasoline prices soared 49% in March from a year ago as the war in Ukraine rocked energy markets
Biden's administration tried to get ahead of the dire inflation news by blaming Russian leader Vladimir Putin
But Republicans place the blame for soaring prices on 'Democrats' reckless spending and failed policies'

Annual inflation as per PCE is 2.5% as reported today. PCE has average 3% or less since October 2023.

If I was the Federal Reserve I'd not lower rates until it averages 2.25% for at least 6 consecutive months.

this is in the best place on Earth, the Florida panhandle

and it includes WiFi and electric, water and sewer

at the height of the COVID pandemic, this would easily rent for $1500

just to show you even in the desirable Florida panhandle that housing costs (rents) are going down

if guvmint-reported inflation continues to steady around 2.5% then the 30 year Treasury likely will steady around 3.75% and the 30 year mortgage will steady around 5.5%

My forecast the 30 year mortgage rate will steady around 5.5% by next February

$1.27 a pound for chicken legs at Walmart at Front Beach Road in Panama City Beach

It was 99 cents a pound back in 2019

What is (and was) the starting hourly wage for the restaurant ? compare it to the Burger Deluxe price over the last 20 to 30 years

starting wage for Burger King on Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach is $15 per hour, and its about $11 total for a large Whopper Meal (large fries and large drink)

.
1384   AD   2024 Sep 10, 1:00pm

Average starting wage was around $6.00 back in 1995 in Panama City Beach (and around $5 for minimum wage set in Florida)

So the whopper meal was only 50% of hourly starting wage. It is not the case now, as it is around 75% of starting wage.

CPI reported today for month of August 2024

overall or headline CPI is 2.5%

core CPI (overall CPI minus food and gas) is 3.2%

nothing to be happy or too excited about as I think the Fed may just lower the Fed Funds rate this month from 5.5% to 5.25%

granted at CPI is trending down from 2022 levels when overall CPI reached above 8%

may mean more bank fees and less interest paid , or they modernize and streamline their bank operations to not pass on the labor cost increase to the clients

this will help to keep the CPI and PCE aggregate for restaurant food down

I usually order 2 of these and my wife gives me her burger since she just wants the drink , fries and McNuggets

Amazon is introducing a grocery brand to compete with Walmart's Great Value brand

Its call Amazon Saver

Will see how good of a deal Amazon Saver is and what products it has to offer as far as keeping grocery inflation down

I'm excited there is going to be an Aldi opening by January 2025 near me ; gives me a welcome break from going to Walmart
