You can call him Mr. Speaker now!

Is it done?

Yes, seems to be!

I'm giving him squinty eyed approval for now. We shall see.

Preliminary outcome appears to be much better than expected.

Gates is breaking champagne bottles wherever he is and apparently well deserved!

For better or worse that mofo delivered!

He won the vote for House Speaker by 220 to 209. There are 221 Republicans and 212 Democrats. 2 seats are vacant with each being solid Democrat and Republican districts.

He is very, very conservative. Regardless of his social politics, he has stated he wants entitlement reform to Medicaid, Social Security and Medicare.

I wonder how much the Left and its mainstream media partners will relentlessly disparage him. Or Speaker Johnson may not legislate in a way to make him a target, which means for the most part he goes along, to get along.

So he gives approval for $45 billion to Ukraine as a compromise to Biden's request for $60 billion and both go back to their political base and tell them they scored a victory.

You’d think corporate media would have stopped whining and been happy that, at long last, the House finally elected a new Speaker.

You really would think, after all the querulous carping they did all week, that reporters would now be happy to have a new Speaker. But I guess you just can’t please some liberals. This morning’s New York Times headline probably tells you everything you need to know about Representative Mike Johnson (R-La.), our terrific new Speaker of the House:

He’s not just a rightwing conservative. According to the Times, aptly-named Johnson is a hard-right conservative, which is infinitely better than a limp-right conservative, which as the ladies can attest, is more or less useless, not to mention unattractive.

For its part, having recovered from a brief fainting spell, the flaccid Washington Post called Mr. Johnson the very worst name in its entire “Slander for Dummies” playbook: a Trumpian election denier:

And you know what should happen to election deniers! Who are just like insurrectionists and other Civil War treason rats. Well, except for democrat ones, like Hillary Clinton or that plump lady from Georgia, whatshername.

You’ll be forgiven for not having noticed Representative Johnson before. He appears to be one of those quiet, effective ones, who get things done and stays out of the crosshairs. Until now, of course. But don’t underestimate him. It took a lot of respect from his peers and some skillful politicking to land the Speaker gig, especially with everything swirling around the nation’s toilet bowl the way it is these days.

For a sample of his political views, here’s what Mr. Johnson tweeted about censorship and the Twitter files:

“Twitter was basically an FBI subsidiary before Elon Musk took it over... The Twitter files should be a matter of bipartisan concern for every member of Congress and every American citizen because it is a bedrock principle of our Constitution that the government does not get to decide what speech is acceptable or true."

For what it’s worth, President Trump likes Johnson, who got all caps and an exclamation point:

... After “congratulations,” and “good luck,” my message to the new speaker is: Fix Our Borders First.

A little more insight into who Mike Johnson is (and Jim Jordan):

New Speaker of the House is Zionist Evangelical Christian Who Wants Americans to Believe He was Ordained by God to Support Israel and Destroy Palestinians

(Note the statement on the sign: "Blessed are those that bless Israel." A complete, but convenient, misapplication of Scripture.)

Johnson is a Zionist Evangelical Christian, and his first act as the newly elected Speaker of the House was to draw up a resolution supporting the current government in Israel.

Speaker Mike Johnson called up a resolution supporting Israel in his first action as leader of the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday, after a three-week leadership vacuum that left the Republican-led chamber unable to respond to the Middle East crisis.

“The first bill I’m going to bring to this floor in a little while will be in support of our dear friend Israel and we are overdue in getting that done,” Johnson said as he accepted the speakership.

Like many other U.S. politicians in recent days, Johnson apparently is also calling for the genocide of the Palestinian people, who at the time of this writing, have reportedly seen over 7,000 of their people killed in the recent conflict, many of them women and children.

“We must elect a Speaker so the House can take all necessary action to end Hamas forever,” Johnson recently tweeted.

Implying the current government in Israel is not worthy of support? As if a “new government in Israel” would be preferable. You are playing right into the hands of the new world order globalists with this false narrative of anti-Israeli sentiment. The globalists WANT war with Israel so that they can send in the Antichrist to confirm a peace treaty. This war in Israel is playing out exactly as the globalists want it to, and if you miss the fact that globalists are anti Jew (and anti-you
!) then you don’t understand what globalists are. They are Satan worshipping elitists who despise everything God has done, everything God values, which includes human life.

The same type of misinterpretation has been applied by the false teachers of Dispensationalism numerous times throughout the last 100+ years. Every time Israel gets into a skirmish or war, the Dispensationalists come out of the wood work and proclaim that the Antichrist is going to take over. Hal Lindsey made a fortune selling books, all based upon HIS (false) interpretations.

I can't tell you how many disillusioned people over the years that I've known that were absolutely sure that the "end is near," only to find out that what they thought was true is not, and, their faith became shipwrecked.

IMO, seems to be a descriptive definition of secular/political, anti-God Zionism.

By the way, did you know that the Zionists in Israel persecute Orthodox Rabbis in Israel? Any explanation for that? Doesn't that make them 'anti-semitic?'

Meanwhile, the Washington Examiner ran an uplifting story yesterday headlined, “Speaker Johnson has 'big plans' for House GOP and they're rooted in seven key principles.”

In 2018, when he ran to chair a GOP committee, Johnson asked the GOP caucus members how they would succinctly pitch conservatism to young liberals. When people struggled to answer, Johnson suggested that, if they took every Republican writing from the Federalist Papers to the Republican Party platform, it would boil down to seven key points, which he dubbed the "Seven Core Principles of Conservatism.”

They are: individual freedom, limited government, the rule of law, peace through strength, fiscal responsibility, free markets, and human dignity.

He was persuasive. The Republicans amended their bylaws to include Johnson’s seven principles. Yesterday, Johnson told the Examiner’s reporter that he has “big plans” as Speaker to help the conference implement the Seven Core Principles of Conservatism. Wisely declining to delve into specifics, Johnson plans to unveil his vision for the conference's future at a Thursday morning meeting.

I don’t believe in the “Superman” theory of government. That said, so far I really like what I see about Mr. Johnson. What an unexpected blessing!

I read The Federalist Papers and recommend it.

I learned that The Anti-Federalist Papers also exists from the same time, plan to read that book as well to see the counterarguments to our current Constitution.

The end is near. Whether it be today, or in 30 years. The rapture will end this age and usher in the great tribulation. What you do to prepare (all one really needs to do to prepare is to repent and believe the gospel) is your choice.

But that being said my faith is not in the rapture, it is in the Savior. Therefore I will never be dissatisfied or disappointed. This world however is anti Christ and is trying to remove all truth from people’s hearts and minds. That is why most churches don’t speak about the end times.

In order to even have this conversation you would have to tell us what your definition of “Zionist” is.
15   RayAmerica   2023 Oct 29, 1:27pm

In order to even have this conversation you would have to tell us what your definition of “Zionist” is.

Zionism is a secular/political movement that was founded by Theodor Herzl. Herzl is officially known as the 'spiritual father of the Jewish state of Israel.' Born in 1860 in Hungary, Herzl became convinced that the Jews needed a homeland of their own and wrote several pamphlets which saw wide spread circulation among Jews in Europe (Der Judenstaat 'The Jewish State' 1896 and Altneuland 'The Old New Land' in 1902).

Herzl strongly advocated Jewish immigration to Palestine in order to establish a sufficient numbers of Jews that would eventually 'take over' the land. When the migration from Europe began, Jews only made up approximately 5-6% of the population, which lived, for the most part, in relative peace. Once the serious migration began, tensions rose, including among the long established Jews that lived in Palestine. In essence, Zionism is a purely secular/political movement that is based upon the premise of establishing a Jewish State in Palestine for the Jews which would be ruled by Zionists.

Herzl died in 1904 and never witnessed the mass migration that he so strongly advocated. Many Christian Zionists believe that the migration took place primarily after World War II. That is a false assumption. The migration began in earnest not long after Herzl's death.

I once had a conversation with an attorney/author that made the bogus claim that I must be 'anti-semitic' because I was pretty much opposed to the political policies of Zionism. When I informed her that there are numerous Orthodox Rabbis that are vocal in their opposition to the Zionist State, I asked her: "Does that make these Rabbis 'anti-semitic' as well?" She was dumbfounded, had no answer, and our conversation came to an abrupt end.

One more item; the late Jerry Falwell, as a Christian Zionist, was an avowed supporter of Israel. Back during Israel's bombing raids on residential neighborhoods in Lebanon, which killed an estimated 10,000 civilians, Falwell was asked on a national news broadcast if he supported such a policy. Falwell's answer was very revealing, he said "I'm commanded to support Israel because my Bible tells me that 'I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee,' so yes, I support this action.' What the newscast did not reveal is that Falwell had received from the State of Israel, the gift of a Learjet in 'appreciation' for his 'loyalty' to Israel.

Now that I've briefly answered your question, how about giving me your definition of Zionism?

A figment of your imagination.

Zionism is the boogeyman. Chupacabra. Yeti. Sasquatch. Loch Ness Monster. Alien abduction. Vampires. Leprechauns.

But that being said there is a government in Israel that is just like ours, corrupt, coopted by the NWO satanic globalists. The Balfour declaration in 1917 gave England’s blessings to the repatriation of people with Jewish ancestry to the land then called Palestine. The land historically known as the Promised Land that God gave to the descendants of Israel, an actual human being originally known as Jacob. And in 1948 the Balfour declaration was set to expire, which meant Great Britain was officially relinquishing control over Palestine. It was this vacuum (void of leadership) that a provisional government stepped into at that exact moment. In 1948-49 The United States and the UN recognized the authority of this government which continues to this day despite several attempts of state and non state (terrorist) actors to destroy the government of Israel. That is the political and military side of things.

But I believe that the desire of religious adherents to Judaism to return to the land of their forefathers is a God given desire to fulfill their destiny. Their destiny (religious Jews) is to reestablish the daily sacrifice in the rebuilt temple on Mount Moriah (the Temple Mount) which will be desecrated by the Antichrist at the midpoint of the seven years of great tribulation. This great tribulation is likely to be witnessed by the majority of people who are alive on this earth today. The die is cast, the hour is late and the events of Daniel and Revelation are about to happen.

The devout followers are called Christians. If to God one thousand years is like a day, then 100 years is like a couple of hours. Many, or most will be caught unaware when these events occur. You will have plenty of fellow humans who don’t expect the end times to occur. I’m not settling dates but even so, there is nothing preventing the tribulation from starting today. Or it could be 30 or even 100 years away. The strongest signal however that I see is the reestablishment of the state of Israel in its original location.

We essentially already have a one world currency through the bank of international settlements. I don’t think we need to have one single currency that is spendable in every location to fulfill the one world government. The SDG’s promoted by the UN and adopted by member nations around the world is a one world government or at least the foundations of it.

I respectfully disagree. If what you say is true, then why are there numerous Orthodox Rabbis that oppose the creation of the Zionist State? The reason? They know it is a secular/political movement that ignores the God of the Bible.
30   PeopleUnited   2023 Nov 1, 8:11pm

The state makes the laws that are necessary to protect the free exercise of religion. When the temple is rebuilt it will be under the regulation/jurisdiction of a government friendly to the rebuilding of the Jewish temple. In order for the temple to be rebuilt, there must be a Jewish or at least Jewish friendly government in place in Israel/Jerusalem to authorize the construction.

I suppose Israel as a nation could be destroyed and a new government rise in its wake that would authorize the rebuild of the Temple on Mount Moriah, but it does seem more likely that the current government survives long enough to authorize the rebuild. They are even building a light rail from the airport to the Temple Mount to facilitate easy travel for visitors. Any time now we can expect an announcement that the temple is being rebuilt. But the rapture may happen before that.

It's because they think the return to Israel must have a King/Messiah appointed by God, not a Parliamentary Government.

In any case, they're a minority of a minority of a minority, though MintPress News and Palestanian websites love to discuss and promote them.

That's not actually the reason. They believe that the State of Israel was founded upon the secular/political philosophies of Zionism. They also know that the history of this movement is rooted in terrorism ... a fact that Christian Zionists conveniently ignore. Look into the history of Palestine BEFORE 1948, and you will readily see who it was that introduced terror and murder into that region, and, it was done to create an unbiblical secular, God-denying State.

Several major problems with your assertions:

There is no need for the Temple to be rebuilt and for the blood sacrifices to be reintroduced. In fact, such a thing would be blasphemy. Christ died ONCE in a never to be repeated sacrifice for sin as the Lamb of God. To think that the Jews have a "destiny" to rebuild the Temple and begin the sacrifices again is total nonsense.

The Old Testament strictly states that only those from the tribe of Levites are allowed to perform Temple sacrifices and ceremonies. Where are the Levites today? Who will perform the (unnecessary) sacrifices?

Mount Mariah also contains the Temple Mount, one of Islam's holiest sites. In order to build this so-called temple, the Temple Mount will need to be destroyed, and all of this, according to you, will "likely" take place during the current Israeli government. It's not going to happen.

You ought to read and understand Mark chapter 13. The temple Will be rebuilt and the daily sacrifice restored, because God told us it will happen. The Jews don’t yet know who their messiah is, so they will restore the daily sacrifice out of ignorance. And then God will reveal himself to them.RayAmerica says

Oh yes, we shall see. The temple will be rebuilt and the Antichrist will desecrate it, like the demon that he is. But God will then prove to the world that Jesus was the sacrifice and Estabish his rule for 1000 years over the earth, and the survivors of the great tribulation which sadly will be few. Probably 10% at best of the worlds population will live through the great tribulation.
