The Red Army counteroffensive officially lasted from early December 1941 until 7 May 1942. The counterattack was titled by the Russians the Winter Campaign
Different times. Way less modern amenities in the 40's. Apples to Uranus comparison.
I will believe the North Koreans troops in Ukraine when I see it. If that were true why does Russia need to call up 300,000 - 1M for cannon fodder?

I think the Russians look stupid for not executing the Powell Doctrine of going in with overwhelming force and a clear exit strategy, or not at all.

You never want to "ramp up" a war, because that gives the enemy time.

I rather wear extra layer of clothing and keep the thermostat at 50 degrees than have no air condition in 88 degrees Fahrenheit and 65% relative humidity.
Another thing is to get everyone in the same room at night and use a very efficient oil-filled electric heater.
And open each faucet a little to allow a little drip if there are concerns about the pipes freezing. Flush the toilet before going to bed.
But I can see where this will be the most challenging in northern Sweden, etc.

I've lived in northern Michigan (not far from Marinette, Wisconsin) during the winter. You run water like a drip rate on faucets helps a lot.

There are indoor propane heaters that are safe to use. I have this one. https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Heater-Corporation-MH18B-Portable/dp/B07Q82MG8S/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=indoor%2Bpropane%2Bheater&qid=1663923955&sprefix=Indoor%2Bpro%2Caps%2C219&sr=8-6&th=1

Cheney is gone, and so is Rumsfield and Wolfowitz. Who is left ? I don't think there are any stalwarts like McCain left.
Not even Lindsey Graham is that bad even though he said he wanted to see someone inside Russia to take out Putin.

His legacy is on the line. He's got to deliver a war prize to the Russian masses by showing victory and annexation of new Russian states that were part of Ukraine.

There is "no exit".
Putin wants to permanently occupy Ukraine as in "Stalinize" it. Its not just about Russian troops killing and looting, taking back stolen refrigerators and other valuable possessions to their Siberian homes.
I think he over extended himself and turned away many Ukrainians who were at least luke-warm pro-Russia. Now he has to rule over them with an iron fist for anyone of those that still remain in eastern Ukraine that borders Russia.
Russians being Russians, they'll likely try to get Russian citizens to move into these new annexed states.

People still think that there is an "overwhelming force" hidden somewhere which hasn't been used yet? What was demonstsrated was it. They blew their load. If you hasn't achieved your objective with your most modern tanks, helicopters, missiles and professional troops, pulling T-62s out of storage and giving them to conscripts after 2 weeks of training won't do it either.
The sooner they wind this thing down the sooner the world can try to put this in the past and move on and get back to somewhat normal relations with Russia.

And exactly how do you run out of tanks in storage when you have more than 10,000??? That must be some pretty shitty storage procedures / lack of oversight / lack of spare parts.
I think the goal is to kill the maximum number of liberal Ukrainians.
Russia already doesn't have enough NCO's and officers. How are they going to manage another 300,000+ ???
