This is why I like the written word. You'll still get BS, but with video it's impossible at this point to discern what is real or fake. Another reason I'm not a fan of memes. They're more comedy than intelligence. Just write what you think. I mean are we all gonna start looking at picture books to form opinions? Write words.

I don't mind podcasts, but even those, how the hell am I to know if that's not AI? I just prefer reading. You can spot BS with words 90% the time if you have over a double digit IQ. They exist still, but I'd be in favor of getting a newspaper subscription with quality writers. I love video for music and comedy, but I don't watch all that much.

I generally read the home page threads/comments here at some point daily. It's hard to fake words. Have typos. You know it's more real and authentic. Won't always agree, but a picture is just gay versus text. And it's impossible to trust video now.

I've lost all faith in any media. I'll watch a cooking video, concert, some podcasts, etc. but I don't believe anything.

Put this way, I need to see it to believe it. No issue with Musk, I have no proof Space X actually landed that booster. That type of thing. I want to believe it, but I didn't see it. Just a bunch of crappy cell phone videos is all I've seen. "Open source" the videos to make sure they're legit. Like give me access to the camera, not just a stream.

Or another example is Ukraine/Russia. There's not even the token reporter wearing a vest and helmet at the local 4 star hotel they're staying at? I feel like all the go pro videos of "soldiers" I've seen are BS. Real soldiers have no interest in filming with a go pro strapped to their head or chest unless it's directed. Also low cost drones could cover reconnaissance.

Just got back from Mexico and got in on the back end of tropical storm Sara. One good day of rain and wind. A complete northing burger. I witnessed it. Media overhypes everything. We had rain and 50mph gusts. It was nothing. Kids were out at the water park/pool, so rain didn't matter. We were bar hopping. I slept in the hammock outside during the storm, let's put it that way. The rain was peaceful white noise along with the palm trees flowing in the wind.
