Is it true that the main principle of negotiations described there is basically giving the opponent most of his ask right off the bat?

"I'll let you know in about two weeks.
"Within two weeks. We're gonna find out whether or not (Putin is) tapping us along or not.
"And if he is, we'll respond a little bit differently."

Let's see what happens at the end of this week, as Trump may respond with less enthusiasm to make concessions

Right now Trump should be putting his foot on the throat of the Democrat-financed AntiFa groups and let them continue to riot.

There is no risk in that, and there is no consequence as far as Trump not going TACO mode.

Most probably the same he did at the end of the previous "2 weeks" - give 2 more weeks.

let's see how this turns out compared to last time missiles were exchanged between Iran and Israel which seemed like restrained geopolitical theater

This is Bibi dragging Trump
along, kicking and screaming after the whole negotiations thing devolved into ayatollah blatantly dragging their feet farting in Trumps's face. Just like Pukin does. I'm old enough to remember Trump making scene in the WH demanding agreeing to unconditional ceasefire from Zel. Well, he got it from Zel on Mar 30. Pukin simply ignored old Donnie and continued bombing civvies and making outlandish demands.

Have 2 weeks passed? What happened after that?

Trump's chest thumping is right out of "The Art of the Deal".

He wants peace and thinks the Iranians may give up if given an untenable position. He would prefer no US attacks on Iran.

Iran doesn't believe the TACO moniker because they haven't done shit to US bases etc.

Attacking Iran == inability
to negotiate properly because no skills.

Sez the expert, not humble me.

Wait, so puppy eyes and waggy tail and 2 weeks on repeat does not work and is not prescribed in the book? Interesting.

What's next? Talking to Pukin's dog? Shougu's reindeer?

India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri:

Prime Minister Modi clearly told President Trump that during this entire episode, there was never any discussion at any level about an India-U.S. trade deal or U.S. mediation between India and Pakistan. The discussion to halt military action occurred directly between India and Pakistan through existing channels between both armies and was made at Pakistan's request.

Prime Minister Modi firmly stated that India has neither accepted mediation, nor does it do so—and never will. There is complete political unanimity on this subject in India. President Trump understood the details explained by the Prime Minister and expressed support for India's fight against terrorism. Prime Minister Modi also said that India now sees terrorism not as a proxy war, but as a war.

TL;DR: Donnie dindu nuffin for this particular "deal".

ROTFLMAO:

President Trump in a statement:

Based on the fact that there is a significant opportunity for negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision regarding whether to go to war or not within the next two weeks.

Well, he finally found a little Reagan in him. (With a lot of help from Bibi).

Except we didn't. Only some banks were cut off but plenty remained connected "to process payments for food, oil and fertilizer" and naturally the shit was rerouted through them. This goes for everything: Joe-fucking-Biden made sure everything he was doing was half-ass, too little and too late.
102   RWSGFY   2025 Jul 7, 5:31pm

Soo, Donnie made more concessions - lifted sanctions from Moscow's banks dealing with Syria and stopped supplying arms and ammo to Ukraine - and Pukin shat on his face by ordering a huge drone strike on civilians right after their phone call.

The art of the cuck?
