Yesterday: Longtime FBI NY Office chief resigns

Today: Two prosecutors from SDNY removed from Mayor Addams case.

This would also be to spin off the IRS Corp. (Vatican, Dominicans) and Fed Reserve Corp. (both entities incorporated in Puerto Rico). It would be an interesting way to cut the umbilicus.OkDOGEisAmountingToSomething says

8   stereotomy   2025 Mar 7, 7:27pm

I'd take rump Canda (everything but Ontario) in exchange for jettisoning that sink of corruption. I knew plenty of Puerto Ricans, and they're grifters to the man. Good riddance!
9   DemoralizerOfPanicans   2025 Mar 7, 7:31pm

Puerto Ricans used to live in the US and work exactly 159 days, then go back to Puerto Rico, easily living off their savings since their cost of living in the US was covered by Tia Rosa's Sec 8 housing and food stamps. Because it was only 159 days, no income tax as they spent 6 months NOT in the 50 states.

The U.S. Department of Justice said that two active-duty U.S. Army soldiers, Jian Zhao and Li Tian, and a veteran, Ruoyu Duan, were in the process of attempting to sell national defense intelligence to Chinese agents. Zhao and Tian were stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

In addition to treason charges, Tian and Duan face counts of bribery and theft of government property. Meanwhile, Zhao faces a charge of conspiracy to transmit national defense information to someone not authorized to have it.

“Jian Zhao and Li Tian, active-duty U.S. Army soldiers stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, along with Ruoyu Duan, a former U.S. Army soldier, were arrested today following indictments by federal grand juries in the District of Oregon and the Western District of Washington,” the DOJ said in a press release.

Hard no. My guess is most here haven't been to PR. We can just take Greenland, that's really not a big deal. You have a bunch of foreign nations in charge of islands in the Caribbean. It would be an awful choice. You can redevelop old military bases there. Allows you to flank any Atlantic crossing from the southeast.

PR is the one territory that should be a state. They're actually probably more conservative than Republicans. My neighbor flies a US flag and he's from PR. Statehood, independence or status quo has been going on for decades. I say just let it be for now.

We can't make them a state, but we should try. We also need to change the shipping laws. If they were a state they could accept foreign ships. US policy has kind of screwed them with development of the country. A Panama Canal ship, non-US from somewhere else could make a quick stop before Miami or other ports on the east coast. Every product shipped in has to be on a US flagged and built vessel.

Unless it's made on the island it's marked up at least 30%. Even made there, byproducts likely to make stuff is from somewhere else.

There's a reason no one goes to these places like PR and USVI for a week long vacation. The Jones Act has made it extremely expensive to visit. Once there the food and drink is expensive. You go and then get hit up for $3-5k on food and drink, you're like WTF. A trip you thought might be $4k, turns into $8k. No one comes back, at least the middle class that saves for one trip a year.

Kill the Jones act and places like PR, USVI and Guam would get more tourist because the prices would drop, they get more GDP from tourist and could expand infrastructure build out. Less power outages, better roads, etc.
14   DemoralizerOfPanicans   2025 Mar 8, 2:35pm

No, PR flies their own flag at the Olympics, so they can pay their own bills as an independent country.

We don't need two more Leftwing Senators and a few leftwing Reps. Their "Conservative" party is weaker than the UK Tory Party, make Murkowski and Collins look far right. Corruption in PR is out of control as the Hurricane Relief showed.

I'd rather have DR.

But yeah, Greenland has like no population we have to spoon feed, and it's harder to hide stolen donations in the glacier.

The USVI provides any basing we need, and we have and can again use Bermuda and the Bahamas if we find ourselves needing a stronger Outfield.

No it doesn't. PR has bases that can be rebuilt. USVI doesn't. There is no legit basing there currently. It would be completely retarded to let go of PR. Not opinion. Fact.
17   DemoralizerOfPanicans   2025 Mar 9, 12:29am

Roosevelt Roads is mostly closed, having been reduced greatly down to a logistics facility. The closure created a huge economic downtown in the whole western part of PR, but was demanded by the far left attitude of PR voters, which is why it must never become a state.

Easily replaced by:

It's much more important to reopen Midway, Johnston, Palmyra, and get Canton & Baker back which was retardedly given to one of the stupid faux-independent states of the Pacific which depend almost wholly on US welfare handouts.

EDIT: Kirabati, a fakeass country. More Carter BS.

Palmyra I think is the secret Ultraelite post apocalyptic hideaway using Greenwashing as cover, where Bezos blew Obama.

None of these islands ever had any signs of permanent inhabitants.

Of course environmentalists will howl like pagan primitives over the eggs of the Sooty Tern or some shit.

I flew out of Roosevelt Roads for a couple of weeks back in the 1980s. I had time to snorkel and see historical sites. I noticed that the island is beautiful, most natives do not speak English, and Navy pilots are crazy.

Folks, the amazing things about Trump's new CBP Home self-deportation app are two-fold.

One, it completely humiliates the Biden administration, which used the CBP One App to facilitate illegal immigration. The new app facilitates DEPORTATION.

Two, it perfectly utilizes the power of INCENTIVES while freeing up ICE resources.

Illegals who screwed up by coming here can self-deport by entering all of their information - the incentive is they won't be ARRESTED and BANNED from reentry if they do this.

Meanwhile, every self-deportation is one less deportation ICE must perform.

PLUS, you have to remember that ICE is primarily targeting known criminals. The kind of migrant who uses this app probably isn't top priority.

So not only is the Trump admin in a genius way repurposing the CBP One App, but they are actually going to be able to reach the less threatening illegals they may not have even swooped up in all of Trump's 4 years.

Incredible. I am impresssed.

What stops the illegal from filling out the form as requested, but then staying in the US under an assumed name? Then the illegal has covered himself if he is caught and deported and can still come in legally later under his real name.

The previous administrations infiltrated Ukrainian agents into our country into all levels of government. Some are Intel legends and Monarch DPD spies. Trump is revoking the legal status of 240,000 resident Ukrainians. Ukeys were complicit in the assassination attempts.

Good thing they are halfway around the world. At least it dilutes them a bit.
