Los Angeles had the homeless issue licked by 2011 with decades low in homeless, despite the worst Depression in any of our lifetimes. The homeless population on skid row was under 2,500 and there were more than enough shelter beds for anyone that wanted one.

Fast forward to terrible court rulings combined with an ambitious asshole in Mayor Eric Garcetti, who intentionally has failed to deploy city services that could have motivated the homeless population and you have tent cities all over Los Angeles. Meanwhile jobs go unfilled and drugs and disease flow in the working class neighborhoods. All Democrats in Los Angeles political office, all Democrats in the state political offices including Dem supermajorities in both state houses.

Very very clear who is to blame for California’s homeless situation.

Oh BTW, the Los Angeles homeless explosion started at the end of 2012. Same time LAPD slowed down enforcement of various quality of life laws, almost guaranteed to have been at Garcetti’s demand.

The only way any smart thinking person can realize that private border money can get used, is either one of two ways. Use it to fund or in conjunction with an organization like Judicial Watch to sue those holding up the official border wall. Or donate it to the government body building the border wall. I suspect a combination of both is probably what will happen.
Though honestly a few tens of millions of dollars, wont even fund a couple miles of border wall. So it will probably be best spent with Watch Dog groups to ride the governments ass and expose those trying to stop the wall. And to sue the government for FOIA documents to uncover fraud that is preventing the wall from being built.

Why are you even talking about leverage? California as an individual state has more leverage against China compared to ANY of the world's countries. Jazz, not sure what you're bitching about. Outside of some government workers, everything in life revolves around what we can sell each other as humans. No one here has an income without this approach. I actually think (based on some articles) that glyphosate causes/exacerbates auto-immune disease, everything from hay fever to asthma, from Psoriasis to Cancer. Our immune system is what keeps us alive, and glyphosate fucks with that.
Worse, it’s in most of our food. So just not using it on our lawns isn’t good enough.
The product should be banned. Find something else.

The stupid and ignorant think that Roundup is evil and the devil, what they should be talking about is the active ingredient Glyphosate. If Glyphosate is truly cancer causing, then ALL companies that utilize it as an ingredient in their herbicides should be at risk/required to do something to fix the damage and remove it from future production.
