I don’t know what’s funnier, the trolling by flat earther, or lefties thinking this is serious.

Anti-virus charms and amulets would probably sell pretty well.

You could have a blast making up the magic spells and motions required to get the amulets to work.

Meanwhile, the Left is insisting Males can Menstruate, Capitalism can't be reformed, but Socialism which has never worked just needs one try of my personally bespoke version, which will not only make the trains run on time, but abolish the last vestiges of heteronormative patriarchy and create a Kardashev-2 civilization.

The Democratic establishment would rather see a Trump presidency then lose power to a Sanders takeover of the DNC.

Wonder what the Dem supporters and "useful idiots" Apple, Google, Amazon think will happen if Bernie takes charge. Bernie and his appointees will no only see these companies as cash cows to pay for the free college and health care, but also target for policies like "30% employee ownership." Wonder how they will like a $15 minimum wage? Wonder how a Bernie appointed Labor Secretary will view Amazon trucks driven by "Independent Contractors" as opposed to "Employees?" How long until outright nationalization of large corporations?

Exactly why Bernie will never be nominated. Super delegates will have a say in this and/or brokered convention. Either way, I think the Dems know they're doomed and they'd be better off knocking Bernie out of the race regardless of those consequences. Bernie being the nominee is substantially worse for the party than plugging someone (anyone) else in.

The weird part is, even the left leaning here still won't put their approval behind any of these candidates. The conversation always turns back to Trump is bad. I think most know that Bernie would be a disaster and there's a large, young vocal minority pushing for him to be POTUS. It's a pretty obvious admission that the Dems have a pile of shit to work with.

Darn I wanna sell something to buy stocks now.
108763   Bd6r   2020 Feb 28, 8:15am

Is the face of stock owners ripped off yet or do we need to wait a few more days?

I kinda think that it is not worth going back into stocks soon (until corona thing subsides) as the supply chains will keep suffering. Then again, this advice comes from someone who pulled his savings out of stocks 10000 points prematurely.

If you're under 40-45 I'd be loading whatever I can into index funds. I'm too lazy to trade individual stocks (besides a few here and there). Always be buying up to a certain age, but if you have the flexibility to load up right now I would. And if it goes down 5k more, load up more. This is one of those events you don't miss out on getting stocks at a stupid silly discount because of an overhyped flu. (again, when I say stocks I mean index funds before anal Andy comes out of the woodwork)

Don't worry about the short term.
108765   Patrick   2020 Feb 28, 8:38am

I think that if another few weeks go by and Americans are not getting severely ill in large numbers, we may see the mother of all rallies.

But if the virus takes hold here, then it could be a few years before stocks rally. But rally they will.

"Buy when there's blood in the streets."
108766   fdhfoiehfeoi   2020 Feb 28, 8:47am

The precedent for this again goes back to the Spanish flu, where millions died. Corona-virus doesn't have anything close to that fatality rate. Message here is houses made of paper can be washed away by any crisis, real or manufactured.

If you lost everything in '08 and didn't learn your lesson...
108767   Misc   2020 Feb 28, 9:01am

If stocks can go up 32% in 2019 with corporate earnings up about 4%, they can go down 25% with a flatish earnings forecast for the year 2020.

It won't be long before Coronavirus makes Social Security solvent again, with lots of government squandering wiggle room. MAGA!

Cull the weak! Coronavirus is good social parasite medicine! OOPs! Did it kill the doctors, too?

The reason they have been telling us all that government is no good is because the oligarchs were gaining monopoly over the use of government by using their corrupt influence more boldly all the time

Get it? Government is no good for us, only them.

Government is THE tool.

Government Is the keys to the kingdom.

The sooner you get that through your head the sooner you can start fighting FOR it, not against it.

Like they do!

try living in a country where it's exactly what you want, China, Venezuela... sorry you missed soviet union that one didn't work out. But the other 2 are still there sort of. Fucking utopia!

WIN-WIN!
As AF would say, we can now invest surplus of Social Security in Uzbek stock fund managed by Kazakhstan company!

My state Virginia has turned Blue in the last election because of redrawn districts, the growth in DC suburbs, carpet baggers from Blue states, and an increased population of illegals. This new Dem majority is now seriously pushing driver's licenses for illegals along with automatic voter registration at the DMV.

GOOD!

The National Flood Insurance Program should be abolished as well. What a total moral hazard. 80% of houses build on the East Coast (not just Florida) over the past 70 years would never have been so if regular insurance markets were in force. Same for regions that are large flooding plains inland too.

So all existing policies should be amended such that the next time a house gets trashed from flooding or a storm, the government DOES pay it out...but policyholders then sign over their land to the government, which puts into conservativeship or something like that. No more rebuilding over and over againl

Either that or they have to pay regular market rate for it or maybe they won't be able to get insurance. If they're rich enough - let them build.

Nobody in the US has died yet. Don't hold your breath waiting to cheer. Meanwhile plenty of people have died every day since the CV came to the US due to traffic accidents, homicide, heart disease, cancer, and the flu.

The Democrats are between a rock and a hard place.

If Bernie is the candidate, he will lose Florida=lose the election.

If they screw Bernie, a lot of the losers will just not get off the couch to vote, they will not have party loyalty to the hypocrites in the DNC.

I guess this is the final stage of the total humiliation of the loser party.

I do. I was on the team the designed the 7500 in the picture as well as other PCR machines. Every fucking hospital in the country has a PCR machine. It's like the soda station at McDonalds as far as molecular biology labs go and not hard at all.

It's ridiculous we haven't been testing way more people. It's cheap, fast and super sensitive. Perhaps false positives but so what. Complete malpractice on the part of our government agencies who've been lying their asses off.

They should be at all airports and everyone should be tested before leaving the building. When I was working at Applied Biosystems we started to build a special system for the Air Force. Grant was shit though so we quit.
