The officially story is that the plane crashes started the fires and then the fires weakened the structural steel and caused the three towers to utterly fail and turn into the longest building fire in the history of building fires.

Planes loaded with gasoline have never crashed into towers at 600 mph before. All that gasoline poured out into the world trade center and caused a steel melting conflagration like the world has never seen before. That steel burned for months!
