I am sure this will not enter your thick head. But let me still explain how things work in India. These govt jobs are reserved for specific group of people. i.e part of a hindu-caste for lack of better word. Once someone converts they are kicked out of that group and lose that privilege. So instead of kicking them out of those jobs they gave them the option of converting back to that caste or make room for someone from that caste.

If they still want to be christians they can still look for other jobs.

That is a very good question. If you really want to understand Hinduism read Bagvad-gita and I think iskcon center can give it for free. My bet is whatever you read when you were young is from a white-christian authors and those translations and explanations are just their own perceptions.

Ok, maybe I need to give you more clarification. These jobs are nothing but giving money to "oppressed" castes. People even bribes to get these jobs. People from other castes cant even get these jobs.

I too dont like this. I hate these caste discrimination policies of the govt. But any govt which try to remove these caste based reservations loose power in next election cycle.

Ah, I never thought too deeply about Hinduism as a religion. I always thought it sounded personally a far better religion vs Christianity where you get one shot to avoid eternal hell. I always liked the chance at re-inventing yourself in the next life. But all religion is a tool for the elites to control the masses. It also helps keep people in line and in the upside deal with immense grief. Fear of eternal painful hell for being bad on earth is a powerful tool. I always liked the idea of a fresh start and a finite end to pain and suffering vs dooming people to eternal hell. Heaven also seems difficult to fathom with “hedonistic adaptation” making it impossible to be eternally happy… or eternally in pain for that matter.

I sort of like the idea of reincarnation for that reason. People who live an imperfect life could be forced to do a “do-over.” Without knowledge of their previous life, of course. Just to see if their soul could be improved with another try at being a good person.
After all, if the soul exists, and there is plenty of anecdotal evidence to suggest that it does, it’s more likely to be a fractured particle of the Divine than a completely independent chunk of metaphysical ectoplasm. So when the soul is ejected from a host body, it goes back to the Divine, which can then either keep it close or send it to experience Creation once more.

After all, an omnipotent God would (by definition) not be limited by the rules and constraints of His own Creation! So how could He experience it? Only by releasing a particle of Himself to be placed in a limited piece of that Creation. Powerless, yet powerful at once, human beings stride this backwater portion of the universe, striving for power and love, unaware we are already powerful and loved. We just have to realize the Truth of what and who we actually are.

If the "benefits" are based on past crimes, Why do they arbitrarily stop if person changes religion?
