Meanwhile the true wealthy stock up on inflation proof assets like real estate, stocks, and corporate holdings. Cash is for the little people. When the government shutdown triggers another recession and a run on the dollar they will only get more wealthy.
So you're buying, right? Sounds real dumb to be holding cash. But that's what the wealthy Boomers have always been doing, and why we'll make out like bandits no matter what? Is that what you're saying? If little people would just treat their cash differently they wouldn't be the little people.
all these morons on here think they are the 'truly wealthy' when in reality they are the truly screwed. Actually its this class of people, who are too poor to find a haven in another country, yet wealthy enough to be considered 'rich' by Occupy Wall St. that will pay the most.
gee I hope you didn't let the relationship with your kids suffer in your wild chase for $$$$. If youre a Boomer I'm quite sure you did.

He doesn't walk. He's in a wheelchair. Duh!
Krugman, DeLong, and other neoliberal centrists don't get this.
Bless you, BB.
They are still laboring on the old industrial model. That no longer works because increased retail demand != increased demand for employees in labor-intensive domestic factories.
you really should devote yourselves to Roth IRAs
Agreed. While I will fight tax raises I see nothing but higher taxes in the future (some of them necessary, a lot unnecessary). I think there will be changes to the IRAs though once the going gets even tougher.
Then, if you wish to substantiate it, use some attribution or association to history or logic. Otherwise you're just babbling like a lost cretin, staggering from one failure to another.
That's funny... After your 747 comments here, we are still waiting for YOU to come up with ONE substantial post.... Just One!!!
he does have a chart...
At least they expand coverage and protect those with pre-existing conditions, two things that were shockingly lacking beforehand.
Yes but it also well grounded in Keynesian economics and unregulated Capitalism. Sure you've got insurance, and pre existing conditions are covered. But do you know what I'm finding out, that list of things that are actually covered, and not covered, is a blurred line. Sure all of the populous stuff is covered, while we actually lost a lot of ground on what insurance plans have to covered, from the 1996 Liberal victory from the last time they took a crack at it.
Many important cancer screenings have been drastically scaled back, sure diabetics are covered, my friend is ecstatic. I'll wait to see how it pans out for him after he actually shops the exchange, and then if he buys, how well his diabetic supplies are covered.
But in the meantime, catching colon and rectal cancers, and early detection breast screenings, and Pap smears, have been cut back, the age to get free screenings is about ten years later than they were before this legislation.
And if you are in your 40's and are scared you might have something going on that should be checked out. You will get a $1200 to $3000 hospital bill for it.
Or more, it will be a rejected claim and you will pay the full price.
It's a forced insurance, and nothing else. They are free to fuck, screw and pilage their captive policy holders, as there is little or no regulation defining what insurance, is even supposed to do.
It has become a privilege to be insured, one that you must oblige.
But make no mistake, there is very little rights into what that insurance policy will do for you. The best I can tell, the Liberal squeaky wheel gets the Oil. Which ever infliction is popular on the political shit list, then you can screened every day on the minute. But most all other procedures and services, you'll fork out 40% or more, before the doctor will even see you. This is on top of the hefty premiums, you either may or may not have to pay depending on your subsidy you get. But every body will be billed and or have claims rejected more often than not.
I remember simpler times, when all you had to do is grow you hair long, maybe put on a pair of bell bottoms to be a freak.
Of course that caught on, and a couple years later everyone was doing it.
Somehow I doubt this will catch on. But he is definitely a freak.
Man, being unique and cool sure has gotten challenging.
this guy is actually considered to be cool, hip, and charming among the millenials:
What does that have to do with the thread again ?
Shut down Washington permanently. Everyone will be better off without them.
Yes, and then let's devolop a perpetual motion machine. And also I would like to stop aging and win the lottery.
If you are so sure of yourself, why are you using the word "might"???
Nothing is 100% in life. If the Koch Brothers keep running commercials to sabotage participation in health insurance (which will cause people to die), then it might not work.
I think Quigley nailed it. To predict what will happen, you need to look at how the rich and the corporations will fare. If the default will hurt them, then it won't happen. If it will benefit them, then it will.
I kind of disagree with this.
It's clear the rich will lose big in a default. Yet their influence seems minimal. Some rich guys organized the tea party and they were planning to use them the way they used the religious right: to sustain a strong pro-corporate agenda. Only their beast escaped them.
Tea party morons probably think default is a good idea. It will come as a shock to them when they hit the bread lines.
If you are so sure of yourself, why are you using the word "might"???
It will work for a lot of poor rednecks living in those gerrymandered tea-party districts. Flash forward to congressional town hall meetings in 4 years: "Keep government's hands off my Obamacare!"
That is the republican nightmare!
STEPHANOPOULOS: So under no circumstances will you pass a clean debt limit?
BOEHNER: We're not going down that path.
Boner is so full of shit. This is ALL on you, Boner. You guys tried to take the debt ceiling hostage and you failed. Give it up, and stop trying to blame the other side, because nobody believes you.
Yes, and then let's devolop a perpetual motion machine. And also I would like to stop aging and win the lottery.
Sorry I'm not close to being able to relate to a "let's shut Washington down completely" comment. Just keepin it real, at least from my perspective.
Bad vibes are in the eye of the beholder.
Good job though with your posts bro. You really put the turd in mershedperturders.
The shudown won't end until the markets go down another 5% or so. Then congress and Obama will cover their short positions and announce an agreement.
Mish and Schiff are well-known Austrian cranks. Their whole "fed is causing (or will cause) hyperinflation" narrative is bullshit.

Mish is actually a libertarian crank. Sort of amusing if you like reading the world is ending every post but not very realistic. He does post against hyperinflation though so he can't be lumped with schiff.
The American Medical Association has weighed in on Obama's new health care package.
The Allergists were in favor of scratching it, but the Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves.
The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it, but the Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve.
Meanwhile, Obstetricians felt certain everyone was laboring under a misconception, while theOphthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted.
Pathologists yelled, "Over my dead body!" while the Pediatricians said, "Oh, grow up!"
The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the Radiologists could see right through it.
Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing and the Internists claimed it would indeed be a bitter pill to swallow.
The Plastic Surgeons opined that this proposal would "put a whole new face on the matter."
The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were pissed off at the whole idea.
Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas, and those lofty Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no.
In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the assholes in Washington.
This is simply an opportunity to buy the dip in the stock market after as this all plays out.
I disagree with the workplaces won't be cutting the hours. They keep referencing studies saying all indicators that point to that not being true. It is true. I've seen it happen already with several employers gearing up to cut hours to part time workers.
They've done it at dozens of school districts in New Jersey already where substitute teachers are only allowed to work 3 days a week for this reason. And, the worst part is, this is a municipal entity, not some corporation run by a board looking to maximize profit.
Ahhh... another one of these little ancedotal stories meant to try and broadly disprove a much larger subject area. Like I've said before, I am certain that you can give me any subject, and story, or any piece of either democratic or republican legislation and I too can easily find a story or two of someone or a small group of people who have been affected negatively in some way. Therefore as in other cases, you're not proving anything. Yet this seems to be a favorite tactic from some our resident GOP shills...

Sub teachers didn't get healthcare before, did they? Even if they did limit their hours, how is that making things worse?
And you keep posting links to Politifact, a known left wing website..
You blow your whole argument...
lol. Reality has a liberal bias. Truth has a liberal bias.
Instead of saying the source is biased, how about you actually show what is incorrect with their reasoning? Or which facts politifact is incorrectly representing?
Just kidding. I know you won't do that....
I'll be honest: To me all of the cable news channels produce what I'd call "Junk food news". I can barely watch any of those channels because the news is so distilled and dumbed down, the time spent per story is so short, and the depth given on the coverage is so meager that to me about the only thing its good for is background noise while running at the Gym. About the only news I ever really care to get isn't even on the tube. I typically listen to NPR, BBC, CBC, and read the news on a number of various web sites.

It's what people want. News is a product.
The American Medical Association has weighed in on Obama's new health care package.
Hilarious.
How long before Fox News reports this as a real story?
atleast it will be primarily nailing the stupid twats who have kept the USA out of single payer the last 30 years; aka the 50-70 year olds. Americans; a pennywise and dollar foolish.
So, CIC, again. What does politifact have wrong? If they're so liberally biased, it should be easy to rebut their opinion.
They'll reach an agreement. It's all just political posturing. And getting the markets down for a quick profit.
Sub teachers didn't get healthcare before, did they? Even if they did limit their hours, how is that making things worse?
Less hours = less pay. Duh.
Hee hee... he said "single payer" with a straight face.
Aren't you fuckers Liberals? Then act like one God damn it!!!
The key operative here is "Socialized Medicine".
Otherwise, you Libs are worse than any Capitalist Republican there's ever been. A single payer insurance system is called a fucking "Monopoly" you fucking Morons!!!
