Most people will probably pick one of the lower cost options.

...and basically have no insurance at all.

Why do you guys keep dancing around the co-ins and deductibles and the personal or family deductible limits which can be in the tens of thousands a year, for all insured. Yes even especially those with subsidized "PREMIUMS".

Hey Bigsby, you should pay Patrick the 5 bucks to quit having your posts deleted. Ah, but then he would know who you are and you obviously want that kept secret to put up with my abuse. You are truly a wretched fellow.

No, I'm just not particularly interested in paying 5 bucks a month to a forum just to avoid being deleted by a conspiracy moron. Enjoy your retirement both from work and from using your brain.
I also notice that you deleted a post that simply asked what that fireman video was, and where he was when he heard the explosions. Why did you delete YOUR OWN POST about the firemen? I guess you've hit a new low of stupidity.

38846   Bigsby   2013 Oct 28, 1:55am

bgamall4 says

I heard them watching the video of the firemen in the lobby. Didn't you hear them? Are you deaf?

And once again, which video, what time in the video, and when did this take place? And just to clarify, you are saying that these 'explosions' are what you claim to be the controlled demolition going off. That's right, isn't it? Just so I know what to listen for. After all, there are plenty of examples of controlled demolitions that I can compare to your supposed example. Anyway, I look forward to your response, or your deletion so you can avoid responding. Whichever.

I say you are lying.

I'm stunned. Oh, and by the way, paying 5 bucks to Patrick doesn't suddenly make it public knowledge who you are. On the other hand, linking to a moronic blog as you do lets the whole world know who you are. You seem unconcerned that you make it clear to the world that you're an idiot. I guess that's because you're old and retired and nobody gives a flying fuck about you anymore and most likely never did, so it's your last futile attempt at trying to draw attention to yourself.

And I said post up the video you were directly referring to that included the sounds of explosions and the location in the video of said explosions. That is what you are claiming after all. Not just that firemen used the word explosions.

I know that isn't good enough for you. I don't know why it isn't. But I will find the other one, don't worry. You saw it, so why don't you try to find it?

I didn't see it. That is the point. You were the one who referenced it, so post it up. You claimed audio. A handful of firemen using the word 'explosions' is only 'proof' of a CD to someone like you because you don't care how flimsy the 'evidence' is as long as you think it supports your argument. For you to actually think that is proof (definitive proof to you) of your extraordinary claim is just utterly ridiculous.

Insurance has ALWAYS had deductibles and co-pays. ACA sets LIMITS on those. The deductibles will be LESS now. Plans that have extremely high deductibles will not be allowed anymore. Even maximum out of pocket cost is capped.

I can't decide if you are deliberately obtuse or just stupid.

An oligarch buys the very last business in the world and disbands the last union and sends the last job to the Chinese gulag and then everyone in America volunteers to suck him off for the chance to wash his car for a tip or a piece of cheese.

Then everyone eats each others' faces.

Basic Adam Smith.

When not sucking, the plebes sit in the toxic effluent from the baron's gigamansion, high-fiving one another because abortion is now punishable by death, and because they are free to own as many guns as they can afford (0).

I think the government should provide healthcare for citizens but ACA seems to only provide money for insurance companies.

No, it also provides money for health care and pharmaceutical companies like the ones which spent $150M passing the bill.

Insurance companies just don't like it yet because they're conservative companies based on actuarial science, can't predict how many previously uninsured healthy people will be buying insurance to pay for the ones with pre-existing conditions that will sign up, and can't safely profit from the law.

That will change once we get solid data since the law lets them markup spending for individual and small group plans by 25% regardless of what that is. Spending $100K more on some one with a pre-existing condition will let them charge $125K more in premiums and keep $25K more for overhead and profit.

US Medicare tax: 2.9% (covers old & poor)

France health insurance tax: 5.25% (covers everyone).

Actually, Medicare only covers the old and disabled.

Medicaid which covers poor people is a separate government program.

In terms of purchasing power parity the United States Government spends more than places like France which insure everyone. In 2010 we spent $3967 per person versus France's $3061 and the UK's $2847.

I think it means the corporations / oligarchs, as an example, begrudgingly hire 2 people to do the work of 10. Making them work 60 hours a week, etc. I believe it is a proven fact much fewer workers are producing more than ever before. As in the chart, 'real output per hour'.

Duckman said: 5. If you let capitalists decide the allocation of labor, they will hire the fewest number of workers possible and let everyone else starve.
Don't worry, socialists from overseas are bringing their ways to America: VW says it wants German-style "works council" at the plant to get employees input. The councils meet on issues such as work rule disputes in order to improve plant efficiency.
VW, which has the best profit margins of any global automaker, has the works councils at more than 100 plants around the globe -- all except those in China and its sole U.S. factory.
But U.S. labor law makes it difficult to set up such councils without participation by a union
.

And also so I'm clear, you are saying that seismic evidence demonstrated 'shaking' and that you are saying that is PROOF of a controlled demolition. Please post up a link to a SCIENTIFIC report on that that backs up your assertion. You simply claiming something doesn't actually make it true.

What language do you think people would actually use to describe such an experience most especially when it had just happened?
You have someone specifically talking about a fireball coming down through the elevator shaft into the lobby - a rather obvious event given what had happened.
This video doesn't prove anything at all of your claims - just that people have difficulty, surprise, surprise, in putting into words what they have just experienced. I notice no video or audio evidence of your claimed bombs. All I hear is a lot of confused people. And I didn't notice anyone specifically saying any of this happened before the plane struck - where did they say that?
From what I just watched, what many are talking about are the blast waves and fireball that vented down the elevator shafts. Which parts talked about all this happening BEFORE the plane struck as you claim as these are all tiny out of context snippets with very unclear timelines - no doubt why the creator of the video used them.

Pretty obvious that there were explosions blowing out the glass on the first floor prior to any collapse of the building.

So, Bigs, you have proof of 9/11. You have witnesses who heard explosions and you have proof of the blown out windows on the first floor. Then the plane hit seconds later.

All very obviously the result of alien death rays preceding the impact. Why don't you want the truth to be heard? Why do you fear truth? You can't delete forever. You can run but you can't hide. Why don't you want the lack of alien investigation looked into? There is the fact you are from Nevada. Area 57 and all that. Maybe the reason you don't want the truth heard is you are actually one of them.

It's a possibility - but who is going to appraise them fairly? Stock market, house appraisers, what about cars? collectibles? What's the threshold? Not as simple..

Taxing assets is just immensely complex.

No it isn't, it's merely modestly difficult. Property is appraised all the time for multiple purposes. You own a city block of apartments, they have a value appraised for tax purposes. You own a painting by Van Gogh, it has a value declared for insurance purposes. You own a swath of Mortgage Backed Securities, they have a market value. It's only difficult to people who want to evade taxes. Fine they want to declare their one-of-a-kind collectible item as only worth a dollar to evade taxes on it, they can take the hit when the insurance company only pays them one dollar when it's damaged.

Have you ever bought any jewelry for your wife or girlfriend? I mean real jewelry that has substantial appraised value, as opposed to trinkets and trash. Did you ever pay for full appraised value for them?

What should be the tax basis for a house that I just bought for $100k on the open market that has assessed value of $200k?

Vicente, I don't quite understand... You're saying that in the case of an asset tax, the value of an item should be determined by how much the owner declares its worth on the insurance? Seems like paying taxes could be replaced by a good security system in this case.

No of course not, most ordinary items have an obvious replacement value. You can't declare your brand-new truck at zero dollars when clearly you bought it for $30K. I was speaking of less obvious items. For 99.99% of assets there are well-established means of assessing the dollar value to replace that asset. This is an underpinning of modern commerce I think. Your life & limb even have dollar values assigned to them.

38883   Dan8267   2013 Oct 28, 5:08pm

Bitcoins arent the future? says

No more loopholes, no exceptions, no exemptions.

That has nothing to do with a flat tax. You can eliminate all loopholes and exceptions and still have a progressive tax. The "progressive" part of our tax code is the fucking simplest part of the tax code. That's not the problem and has never been the problem.

Furthermore, the income tax was intended as a tax only on the rich to pay only for social services for the poor to alleviate and end poverty. The income tax should be restored to that and the progressiveness should be a function of the rich-poor gap such that if the rich want to get richer, they have to eliminate poverty. Now that's motivation not to fuck up the system and maybe even improve it.

And yes, a progressive tax is KISS simple. It's every bit as simple as a flat tax. Just get rid of everything in the tax code except the progressive tax rate.
