President Obama claims he could have won a third term if he had been allowed to run, but many Democrats in down ballot races haven’t been as successful during Obama’s presidency.

He prob would mobilize black vote better than Hillary but I still think Bernie sanders could beat him in a primary not rigged.

Obama and Clinton part of old guard; ironically, Bernie is part of new guard. Someone with Bernie like platform will win 2020 nomination, not Michelle Obama or anyone like that, unless platform radically different

78539   lostand confused   2016 Dec 28, 5:24am

I think they will lose even more. If you look at the lefties on thsis ite, they still make fun of any people who vote repub. Hillary on down and even OBozo-but he used to go to other countries and bash us- just think of us as rubes.

Now I have no problems voting for the right dem candidate-but hey insult me and then expect me to vote for you-just because you think you are the chosen one. MM no-act like public servants and then work on understanding the common man's problems -jobs, jobs, a better future. Instead they push and lobby for the TPP. If Hilalry had won, Obama would have gotten the TPP passed-by repub help of course-but TPP would be law, just like he passed the Israel resolution.

ironically it took a brash billionare from NY to connect with the common man. Now it lefts to be seen if he will do it -but so far encouraging. lets see when he gets in office.

Dems have to worry about men in women's restrooms and of course the rancid feminazism. I am beginning to think many women are also starting to distance themselves from the feminazis and false rape-after all every man on this planet came from a woman and false rape affects and them and their sons. The same for all the stupid laws against men.

Unfortunately repubs don't do much on unfair child support, alimony etc-but at least they don't enact more rules.

We need people who like freedom more-stop jail for child support/drugs/hookers etc-crimes that are personal behavior. Crimes should be only ones that affect others-physically-not emotionally.

Trump it is and hopefully he will change the course for the repubs to be more the party of the common man. Obama and Hilalry have made the dems the party of the SJW and the corporates and Wall street-just look at the donations this cycle.

That's the problem. They think they can win on Vagina Pillows and calling everybody a Racist. Everytime they get a taste of power, they forget economics and are willing to go to the Triarii over Multicult legislation. But they'll back down in a second over a Public Option or allowing Judges to cram down mortgage terms.

They actually do, sometimes:

http://www.wuft.org/news/2016/03/16/florida-legislature-passes-bill-on-shared-parenting/

But it was vetoed by the Governor, probably due to divorce lawyer pressure, who don't want laws that make shared custody the norm, they want to squeeze fathers to make money over automatic female primary custody.

And guess who else was opposed?

NOW. The organization that claims feminism is about equality.

Well JFK put a man on the moon, Obummer put a man into the women's restroom. That's all you need to know about the state of the Democratic party. This shameless pandering to minorities such as the rich elites or people with gender crisis while screwing over the "regular guy" middle-class is what go them here. and once the millenials row up and realize how fucked they are they will quickly abandon the part of the special snowflakes. This is a great time for the Republicans or a 3rd party to capitalize on this disorientation and divide, unless Trump proves as a yuge uniter and overcomes the neocon cucks inside the Republican party, then the Dems would be finished for quite a while to come.

I am not sure anymore what liberal means.

I am anti PC, affirmative action, religion, and criminalizing drug use. For universal health care, keeping the rich poor, affordable education, and legal prostitution. I've only voted for a socialist party (in my country of origin). Am I a liberal?

Dan8267 says

What is liberalism?

Liberalism is the political philosophy that

1. All people are equal under law. We are a nation of rights, not privileges, and everyone has the same right.

2. People should be allowed to do what they want as long as they aren't infringing upon the rights of others. There should be no victimless crimes.

3. Government should be transparent and accountable for its actions.

Just ask yourself how much you support each of the above principles. It's not a Litmus test. The question is how liberal are you.

See the referenced thread for more details and how to determine how liberal you are.

They've been finished, unfortunately they haven't woken up to that FACT yet. The data in the OP should have been a wake-up call along with the popularity of Sanders and Trump. The Dems are asleep at the wheel.

Yep, Corbyn pulled the same shit in the UK as the Dems did back in 2009-2010

He won the Labour Election for his Economic and Non-Intervention talk. Then he started pushing Left Wing Culture Causes first and foremost and mucked about with how many minorities he could put in his shadow cabinet.

This is exactly why the US Dems were swept out in 2010 as soon as they were swept in in 2008. People wanted their jobs back and banks disciplined, not Lilly Ledbetter Womyn's Paycheck Lawsuit Expansion, not Americorps Fluffly Nonsense, not more new Restrictive Federal Gun Show Laws, not toothless reform with all the tough parts stricken by bankster friendly Clintonista-aligned leadership.

Look what Obama is doing now - all Culture War crap to fire up the base - while turning off people who don't think the Keffiyeh is cool.

7. Thank Russia!

it's not like they hacked the Pentagon. If they did it, they phished Podesta's DNC account, downloaded emails, and released ones that showed him and his ilk to be the corrupt monsters that they are.

Whoop de freaking do!

We don't like Killary anyway and we are glad her campaign went down in flames. She was the absolute worst person for the job and America dodged a bullet when she wasn't elected President. Hell, the way she talked and raged, we may have dodged a few thousand nuclear warheads!
War with the other nuclear superpower in the world is and should always be out of the question. Conflict like that goes beyond destruction and politics and power. It's an extinction level event.

Any other option must be pursued before the one that would wipe our species from the face of a radioactive and uninhabitable planet Earth.

You hear that, duck????

Any option! Any politician who even hints that nuclear war might be an acceptable solution to a POLITICAL problem is INSANE and must not be allowed such power!

FUCK! I thought this shit was obvious, but apparently some people are too ignorant to understand that you can't blow up the world and then win!
What the actual FUCK?!

Usually in these circumstances the US government actually lists IPs and where they were tracked to, they have logs and packets to offer up as proof.
The only thing Obama has offered is ill-timed triggered crybaby accusations.

And if it is true that Putin ratted Hillary, the DNC and Obama out to the American voters, then we owe him one flattering statue, in the appropriate halls where other American hero statues are erected.

Obama has been the most anti-Whistlerblower President in US History; Hillary would be even worse.

Yeah, thank goodness we have an upgrade to a President that's okay with Russia (maybe successfully) influencing our elections.

Gosh, could it be that Trump doesn't want to condemn Russian efforts to illegally influence our elections becasue he is the one they helped elect ?

Probably just a coincidence that all of those arguing that it was okay for Russia to use stolen info to influence our elections happen to be happy that Trump won.

If they had any integrity or intellectual honesty, they would say they are glad Trump won, but that at the same time they are not okay with Russian government meddling in our elections. There are some republicans that have taken that position. Who knows, maybe those are republicans that privately would have strongly preferred Hillary as President.

78569   Shaman   2016 Dec 30, 10:32am

We should reward Russia for their investigative journalism by removing all sanctions and promoting trade deals on a massive scale. Both our countries have much to gain from trade. Then we should make agreements on world security, response measures to Islam, etc. Finally, we should agree to construct an inter-continental bridge from Alaska to Siberia and construction of a connected highway that will make it possible to drive from Chile to Zimbabwe.
THAT'S how far we should go to improve Russian relations!

78570   MMR   2016 Dec 30, 10:37am

.......But when russians spy it is intolerable because that's the narrative that the MSM wants to push. Social media is making it harder for MSM to push half-truths

promoting trade deals on a massive scale

So while Trump works on undoing globalization, we should increase globalization with respect to Russia ? I guess that's based on the idea that they won't undercut us on labor costs ?

I'm pretty sure the irony involved in defending Russia is lost on all the people whose biggest beef with Hillary was that she's corrupt and supposedly thinks she's above the law

The DNC is not a government agency. They should have spent a little bit of their money on cyber security. And Podesta is a dumbass for falling for a phishing scam.

Their security was a joke. They haughtily turned down FBI offers to assist with hardening and monitoring their IT - probably because they feared leaks from the FBI more than any thing else at the time.

78573   MisdemeanorRebel   2016 Dec 30, 10:57am

I know one thing a President traditionally does not do during their last days in office, and that is make substantial foreign policy moves.

Remember, America was founded on a violent, criminal revolution that violated many laws. It was not legal for the American colonists to revolt against their government, the British Empire. To argue that the law must always be upheld is to argue that our nation should not have been founded.

Thunderlips is Tovbot2 says

I have no idea what you're talking about. Many argue against trade deals they don't begin to understand, because it's more globalization. For many months you and others argued that Trump is awesome, in spite of his obvious personality and character flaws because he promises to magically undo the consequences of globalization. Then Quigley says we need to promote massive trade deals with Russia as a reward of us supposedly taking the neoliberal elites out of power.

That was the context of my comment.

78576   marcus   2016 Dec 30, 11:09am

Thunderlips is Tovbot2 says

YOu mean like not vetoing the UN on something ? Some would say doing the veto would have been a more significant foriegn policy move.

But speaking of norms, the President elect is supposed to realize that there is only one President at a time, and keep a low profile relative to international affairs until after he is inaugurated. But not Trump. He has an image of not having any class and being an idiot to uphold.
