Stay clear of Alaska. That's my fall back plan and I'm not sure I want to share it with you!
Far as war goes...nobody wants it and even fewer will fight over it. The population is mostly rednecks, greenies, and natives. The greenies will be SOL once their lawyer payday goes away. The natives know how to survive fucking anything. And the rednecks are going to improvise a defense against stragglers from shitty places like California. The food production is the one short spot, but with improving weather could be fixed. You see, Alaska gets damn near 24 hour sunlight in the summer, which makes the crops that survive there do extremely well. I've seen potatoe crops ready to harvest in two months and cabbages bigger than your beer belly. Carrots grow fucking huge as well, and other veg do well too. With a bit of global warming wheat and barley would be valid crops, and Alaska has the oil to run the heavy equipment to clear the land needed and farm it.
So, it would require a lot of coordination, but the state could become food independent if it had to. Moose would qualify as the local beef until the cow herds got up and going.
My brother lives on an island up there and a neighboring island had some Yahoo drop a dozen cows on it fifty years back. Now there's a sizable herd of feral cattle roaming the rainswept lands, and short of any predators they keep multiplying. He takes his boat over there to shoot one when his freezer gets low on beef. That's when it's not stuffed with crab and salmon.
So ya, stay clear of Alaska, go to Chile! We don't need no fat landlords with nothing but lawyer skills up there.

Most low-income families don’t rent by choice, said Nela Richardson, chief economist at Redfin.

This is the long lasting effect of the CRA:

• The majority (an estimated 56%) of families who lost homes were non-Hispanic and white, but
African-American and Latino families were disproportionately affected relative to their share of
mortgage originations.
• Among recent borrowers, we estimate that nearly 8% of both African Americans and Latinos
have lost their homes to foreclosures, compared to 4.5% of whites.
• The racial and ethnic disparities in these estimated foreclosure rates hold even after controlling for
differences in income patterns between demographic groups.

Besides, in all honestly, Marco from Trapoja just does basic 8-14 year olds in his midget sex stuff, and midgets don't have the goods, anatomically speaking, like the Serbs, for the broader commercial market you're looking for. You're talking a niche, boutique fetish and often it's a hard find. Talk to Thunder Lips if you want an in with the Milosevic, Karadzic, Mladic ethnic cleansing angle on underage porn. According to him there's nothing quite like sticking it to multiculturalism, immigration, and an underage vagina all at the same time, whether it's with a 12" cock or an AK47. I'd bet a fist full of dinar there are a ton of buxom brunette Serbian widows freed from the bonds of marriage by hubby's accidental polonium ingestion who played their part in "Biljana does Belgrade." Looks like we need more tax cuts for the wealthy, and less healthcare coverage. I'm sure that will help people buy houses.

Yes, the color of your skin determines all things in life. Other factors don't matter at all.

81941   Rew   2017 Mar 23, 10:55pm

They needed 7 votes more in the house, last I heard. All sorts of new 'compromises' going into this bill at the moment.

The truth is, people are going to suffer more, regardless of the vote. It's also likely to be proportionally worse for Trump supporters themselves.

81942   marcus   2017 Mar 23, 11:17pm

The only people Trumpcare is good for is wealthy people that are already on medicare that get a big tax cut. EVen Trump is smart enough to know that he's way better off politically sticking with OBamacare. He can tell his wealthy buddies that it's congress' fault. That way he doesn't get blamed for something worse.

SIngle payer is inevitable. How long do we have to wait for it ? I'll be on medicare long before it happens.

Hahahaha. You mean you think he would actually know what was in it, or care enough, to veto? This is all about impressions to him.

The Repubs tune is going to be "See, Obama care is horrible! Look." ... as they let it fall apart and replace it with garbage. "So sorry. Obamacare was really awful wasn't it? Yes, yes. Well, we need to pass bucket three of the bill, then things will start to work. Believe me. Believe me."

81946   FNWGMOBDVZXDNW   2017 Mar 24, 5:12am

You think this whole thing is a ruse to punt on health Care? If Congress is in on it, that could be smart on his part, I guess, if Obamacare does collapse with no support from gov.
Otoh, if they give him a bill next week, he is kind of stuck. If he vetoes, he has to own Obamacare, and Congress can blame him. If he signs the bill, he will look weak. I don't know if his ego could take it.
I'm guessing he would sign it and claim a victory for being the guy who whipped everybody into line. But most people and the media would laugh at him, and that would put him into a deeper funk.

81953   FNWGMOBDVZXDNW   2017 Mar 24, 7:16am

As a whole, due to demographics, baby boomers had it pretty easy. Because they didn't save personally and publicly (public debt), that puts pressure on subsequent generations. The much bigger issue though is the with Gap. Millennials with upper income parents who save have it pretty good, while their less fortunate cohorts will have to learn to make do. Maybe that will give them the 'hunger in the belly' that people need to thrive.

You'd have thought that Trump and Ryan would have learned something from the passage of Obamacare.

I hope this does pass so Republicans can own it now. Would make for interesting mid-terms.

81956   joshuatrio   2017 Mar 24, 7:39am

This garbage keeps up, I'm quitting my job, and running my side biz full time. I'll keep my income levels below $20k year (on paper) and collect all the free shit handouts from the gov.

This whole healthcare thing has gotten fucking stupid starting with Obama. Paul Ryan can suck a dick with what he is pushing.

Listen to the people or get the fuck out!!!!!

81957   Rew   2017 Mar 24, 7:48am

How long did it take to legislate Obamacare? Why?

How many budget analysis passes were done? What did they show?

Relative to Trump, how much skin in the game did Obama have?

To compare this to how Obamacare was passed, and claim equivalency, is woefully uninformed. What they have in common is that they are both healthcare bills. Trumpcare is like copying off the student next to you, for an essay, and turning it in first to teacher ... as if that was meaningful to the content at all.

81958   joeyjojojunior   2017 Mar 24, 7:59am

Are you guys really pretending that Trump isn't pushing this bill? And it's only Ryan? Are you kidding me? How many meetings did Trump have yesterday pushing, negotiating, cajoling Congressmen? Trump owns this one too.

BTW, this guy will never find work in the financial services sector nor the management consulting zone because more or less, he's blackballed. And thus, there's really no point in him, attending Columbia to begin with, because it's not going to advance his career in elite recruiting circles.

Can you get plots of maximum, minimum, and or yearly average ice extents over the years? It would be interesting to see what the standard deviations are and how 2016 looked relative to the standard deviation to see how unlikely it was from a purely statistical perspective assuming that there was no long term trend. If 2017 is a repeat, it would be important to see if there are correlations between consecutive years. If 2017 is a repeat, and there are no consecutive year correlations, the statistical chances of this being a coincidence would be very much smaller.

I'm asking you rather than doing it myself, because you seem to be into these plots and might know how to get those data.

81963   Blurtman   2017 Mar 24, 10:58am

Play the trend in the RE market.

81965   FNWGMOBDVZXDNW   2017 Mar 24, 11:30am

Wow - that's pretty convincing. There's no need for any statistical analysis to see that there is a long term trend in ice volume.

Regarding the south pole, where 2016 is more interesting, the data are available to whoever generated those plots in the OP.

Regarding climate data, I've heard that NOAA data has already been taken offline. There's been an effort by the Trump administration to try to monetize the data. They want big data companies to bid to develop and implement the infrastructure to charge. Yee ha, baby. I just checked briefly, but it's been a while since I've downloaded the data, and I don't feel like searching to see if those data are still available.
