Russian warships are steaming towards U.S. warship off the coast of Syria as I type this.

Ha ha ha. Who believes Russia is going to go to war with the US over a Middle Eastern dictator.

No kidding.

Love how Nikki Haley at the UN this morning denied the request to have a closed door meeting at the Security Council about Syria and wants it open to the public. She said she wanted the Assad supporters on record so the whole world can hear them.

Drumpf is doing a literal, complete 180° turn on everything he "believe me, we're not wasting taxpayer money in foreign wars of choice anymore" and "why would we help ISIS by taking out Assad, who like Saddam Hussein, although ruthless, huned and killed terrorists?"

Very true.

It is about as jarring as watching the Obama, Clinton and the Democrats go 180 on Russia for political reasons.

Ironman would literally blow Trump even if Trump changed his slogan to "Make The United Nations Great Again," or maybe that's what Ironman (aka Tony Stark) heard all along.

Once you guys all finish high fiving and doing the testosterone dance want to fill the rest of us in on trumps double secret plan for post assad? Hopefully it will be better than the Iraq or Afghanistan plan.

I don't think bombing one airfield is going to dramatically tip the balance of the war against Assad.

I think the strike is more intended to send a message that we are not going to live in a world where WMDs are used on civilian populations without consequences.

At the end of the day, we will probably see Syria partitioned to separate the Sunni, Shia and Allawite communities and hopefully we can see more moderate groups on all sides governing their territories. It will be a slow burn and cold peace like we saw in the Balkans. Seems that Muslim communities can only live peacefully in countries where there religion, tribe or sect are in the majority and in power. They are incapable of peacefully living in multi-ethnic/religious communities without a psychopathic dictator's boot on their neck.

Months, even weeks ago, Ironman (Spiderman/Batman) would have refused to believe there could be verifiable, credible proof given within a month, let alone several days, that it was Assad and not rebels or others who actually allegedly used chemical weapons.

They'd say "this is a ploy to pull on heart strings and bait the U.S. into another war commitment."

In fact, Trumpigula himself at least suggested this many times, while reaffirming his analogy of Assad to Saddam (better to let a dictactor who kills ISIS/Al-Qaeda stay than remove them)..

Now, after their hero-god, Trump, has engaged based on the Hillary Clinton "YouTube Video Model," they zealously defend Trumpigula.

Next up, Liberia, Darfur, Ivory Coast, Myanmar, etc. etc. etc.

It looks like Assad waited for Obama to leave office since Trump made stated anti-war policy while campaigning and this was likely a big surprise to Assad, although Assad got his answer as to "what would happen if I ...?"

Yep - I think that is right too.

So what part of the attack was designed to remove asshat from power?

Or do you not know the meaning of a "targeted military strike on a remote airfield during the night with base personnel given advanced warning of incoming missiles to destroy that airfields capability to launch chemical weapon attacks"..

What part of my comment said the attack was designed to remove asshat from power? A targeted military strike? and then what? We did 12 years of targeted military strikes with no plan of any kind in Vietnam and lost the war.

Captain confusion needs to get himself and his staff together and decide what is going to be the objective and how it will be achieved.

How exactly does a tomahawk attack on an airport in western Syria help village people in the mountains of northern iraq? How does the US getting involved in the civil war in a different country on the side of the genocidal maniacs help them?

You are very very confused on who is fighting who and where.

The best way to help the Yazidis and pretty much all of the middle east would be to track down the saudi funding of terrorism including ISIS and cut it off. But the saudi ass sucking neocon chicken hawk crowd would never let that happen. These are your people.

Just a reminder.
This is about oil. Don't let politicians define the narrative here.
It's not about religion, genocide or a civil war.

Russia serves Turkey with a gas pipeline. That gas goes on to Italy and parts of Europe.
There are 2 new pipeline deals trying to be struck: Qatar Pipeline and the Iran-Iraq-Syria Pipeline.
Both the new pipeline routes go through which country?

Syria.

Russia has been able to get Assad on their side in blocking the 2 new pipelines.
All SA or Iran have to do is get a new puppet in power to green-light one of these deals.
I'm guessing the US is backing SA and Qatar, hence the blind eye as to what SA is up to in Yemen.
That's why we launched 59 Tomahawk missiles totaling $49,088,000

Free college? Where we gonna get money like that?

Why aren't you ranting about the starving people in North Korea, the Genocides in Africa, the starvation in Venezuela, or the failed drug state in Mexico? According to you just nuke 'em all right? Anyone who advocates violence against someone without the full story is a stupid sociopath who needs to be air-dropped in the middle of the war zone to a get a first hand taste of what imperialism is all about.

See something missing from Gulf State sourced Propaganda?

Amazing how the First Responders have gas masks handy, but not gloves - something pretty much all ER Personnel wear just to respond to regular, ordinary things like Mrs. Slocum having Fallen and Not being able to get up.

As Fake as "pallywood". Western News Agency's multiculturalism and money saving procedures result in their hiring or buying of Staged Propaganda.

Besides they are both two can assemblies, the metal outer crating is different aside from the tops are different.
I haven't seen any above that have cabinet handles on the top, and the hook holes in the outer horseshoe edges of the crating.
The ones in the blown out bunker have bars across the top at the outside. They aren't in Russian made ones.

Also don't you think the placement of those Canisters in the bunker pictures look out of place, almost staged?
I mean if you are Assad, you don't leave them out in front of the bunker to be seen in Satellite photos.

82361   MisdemeanorRebel   2017 Apr 7, 3:04pm

Notice this is like the first 24-hour period where the MSM and GOPe isn't being critical of Trump.

I find it hard to believe that Assad used Chemicals now that he has ISIS on the ropes, losing more and more territory daily. I think this was like the first, barely reported, use of chemicals in Syria - by ISIS and other Gulf nation backed Fundamentalists years ago.

And I'm gonna need extraordinary evidence that Russia gave Assad replacement Chemical Weapons, or allowed him to use it.

Remember, Obama declared victory after getting Syria to hand over all Chemical Weapons a little while back.

82363   Tenpoundbass   2017 Apr 7, 4:47pm

I'm almost certain at this point, that Airfield needed rebuilding, and about 38 of the 59 missles fired took out ISIS targets nobody is talking about.
Trump fires off 60 Missles and sits down to talk with the leader of China.
Putin then makes a posture in hindsight, vows to do what was probably already going to be done in the first place. Which is rebuild and moderize that airbase, it was a releic from Regan Egypt peace accord.
The two will end up reachning a "Deal" to work together to clean Syria of ISIS once and for all. Then allow Assad to get voted back into office in "Democratic" election.
The Fat Kid in NK is now in the hot seat with some very Serious Dudes.
Trump disturbing the branded "Alt-Right" will allow Trump and Alt-Right to be each other without being branded or labeled with each other.
Libs now have less credibility when they claim Trump and Russia are in Cohoots. Thump manned up and did the "Thing".
It will all work out you'll see.

I had some thoughts long this line, but was distracted by the overall war in the region and the setback to the forces of order this represents.
But yes, with regards to Trump looking tough and crazy, this goes a long ass way. Also we shouldn't be hearing anymore crap about him being a Russian plant.
North Korea had better watch out! Next time they try to extort the USA for "aid" while leveling nuclear tipped cruise missiles at California, they're liable to get blown back to the Stone Age. While China sits back and does nothing, scared that they will be next.

1. President Trump just solved for the allegation that he is Putin’s puppet.

I always said that he probably wasn't 'owned' by Putin. On the other hand, this doesn't prove that he's not an unwitting agent, and it doesn't prove that he wasn't in cahoots with Putin. People who don't trust the MSM on either side can imagine a variety of scenarios that could explain the situation other than the most widely accepted narrative. For example, if Russia is not blamed for the attack and things resume as they were, then it gets the Russia / Trump investigation out of the media and makes it look less likely. That's good for Putin as well as Trump. If they have some secret deal and want to work together, this provides cover for that.Ironman says

2. President Trump solved (partly) for the allegation that he is incompetent.

Sending missiles doesn't solve this. He could look incompetent if people describe his actions as emotional or that he acted on instinct.

Not really. See #1. He could be an unwitting agent. They could have been in on it together.

There are no good sides in this conflict. How is attacking Assad helping him beat back ISIS? This doesn't have anything to do with the missile attack.

7. Israel is safer whenever an adversary’s air power is degraded.

Maybe. I don't think that Israel was at all worried about an imminent attack by Assad. People in year 6 of a civil war don't usually take a siesta from their current war to attack their neighbors.

You just copied an article and pasted it into the post box, so I thought it was your writing at first. About 1/4 of the way through I was very impressed with your writing and analytic skills. It's miles ahead of your normal posting. About 1/2 way through, it became clear that it wasn't yours. Still, it doesn't pass muster. There are way to many conclusions that just don't hold water.

Even if it were so, I fail to see the problem with Putin and Trump alliance before the election, during the transition or now. I'm pretty sure Hillary could have gotten elected, and every MSM Liberal rag on the planet would be talking about how she used Every Socialist Liberal dictator's help on the planet. There would have been braggart studies after studies published on the subject with gushing Liberal Authors.

I'm not convinced that Trump's response wasn't coordinated with Putin. That base needed modernizing, and not a nary hit on any of the landing and takeoff strips.
To what purpose, to draw the chemical weapon perpetrators out into the open. I'm also sure that 38 of those 59 missiles took out ISIS positions, that were probably backed by people who aren't keen about making an international Hubub about it.
