With just days before President B.O.'s proposed "bi-partisan" health-care summit, the White House released a new blueprint that the Democrats say they will ram through Congress...with or without Republican support.

So after election defeats in Virginia, N.J., and even Massachusetts, and amid overwhelming public opposition, Democrats have decided to give the voters what they don't want anyway.

The "Presidents Proposal" manages to take the worst of both the House and Senate bills and combine them into something even more destructive. It includes more taxes, more subsidies and even less cost control that the Senate bill. And it purports to fix the special-interest favors in the Senate bill...not by eliminating them - but by expanding them to everyone.

One final insult, neither The President, his family, nor anyone in Congress is subject to the health-care provisions they say are good enough for us.

There are some on this site that ARE trying, really trying to help teach others the benefits of sound money, freedom, personal responsibility, capitalism, small constitutional government, the evils of centralized planning, creeping socialism and the like. BTW, have you read it?

Yeah, because some random jackass on the internet preaching the same small government rhetoric that has been flung around since the founding of the union is really going to change people's opinions on things.

Ummm, more personal attacks - without substance. I must be on target.

57   azrob00   2010 Apr 4, 6:24am

lets see: DURING
DURING the campaign, Obama was in trouble because of his radical CHRISTIAN pastor... but actually, he is a Muslim...

Ok, what you idiots make up your mind which way you hate him? for his radical christian religion? or radical muslim?

58   Honest Abe   2010 Apr 4, 12:32pm

Zlxr - yea, I think you have a point. In other words, why argue with idiots? Thanks for your input.

I do wonder why, when someone disagrees with you it's a personal attack. Yet when you personally attack others, it's different. Honest Abe says

The only person lacking substance is you. Have you noticed that you've driven away many people who contributed to the subjects? I'm sure you think that you've "won" by doing so.

We each come here because we like to debate politics and current affairs, we also learn opposing points of views along the way which influence our perspectives on each of the topics of discussion.

Its all a part of the fun, I thought you would have been used to it by now.

The issue here is that some of us are debating issues, while others such as Abe & Rayray are unable to accept others have opinions that are worthwhile. Attacking others and insisting that they're always right on every level is non-productive and detracts from whatever contributions they might have to the discourse.

We're not here to be educated by them, and they're not taken seriously. We're trying, really trying, to find a message in their posts. The only thing that I can figure is that they don't have anywhere else to state their opinion because of obvious lack of social skills that they display here.

Behind their protests of being attacked personally while they attack others, and hide behind their victim mentality, is only to be expected. It's the only thing they're bringing to the game.

This is too funny coming from the Queen of Insults. Little elliemae very rarely comments on anything a conservative says in substance, instead she hurls one personal insult after another. Talk about a perfect example of the kettle calling the pot black.

Being interviewed during today's White Sox game, Obama claimed to be a "lifelong White Sox fan from the South Side of Chicago." When asked who his favorite White Sox player was growing up, he answered "well, I actually grew up in Hawaii" and couldn't name a single player from the past. In other words, he lied again. LOL

I'm a dodgers fan, grew up in Los Angeles. But I couldn't name a player if my life depended upon it. Does that make me a liar? You have nothing to offer beyond your hatred of all things Obama. And, I will comment on something a conservative says "in substance" if and when they say anything of substance.

They are arch-conservatives looking to pay back liberals for the past 8 years of Bush mistakes by blaming them on our current president, thats all. They will go to the grave defending the past 8 years of mistakes and bashing the current attempts to fix the system.

A "fan" that can't name a single player on his or her favorite team is either a) completely stupid or b) a liar or c) both. Which is it?

68   Vicente   2010 Apr 6, 2:28am

I like music, but 90% of the time I can't name who's playing a particular song without some hard thinking. Ummmm..... something Chili Peppers...... Who is in the band? Damifino! I have one of those friends who can name everyone in the band, then start going back to what bands they were in before. I consider you guys with your encyclopedic knowledge of such trivia to be closer to Rain Man than normal people. Please go back to your Fantasy League and leave us alone.

It seems being a Democrat and a Baseball fan go hand in hand. I fondly remember another "huge baseball fan" that grew up in Chicago and just happened to be a Yankee fan "all her life." The fact that "Joan of Arc" Hillary was running for the Senate seat in New York had absolutely nothing to do with it. Anyone that believes it did, is obviously a right wing, cynical hater of all that is true and just.

You hurt my feelings and I'll never recover - I'm always hurt when some random poster attacks me on an anonymous interweb real estate forum. They only do that when they're trying, really trying - but don't have anything to contribute. None of your rhetoric has anything to do with reality, it's just rhetoric.

I don't have that problem. My wife is very trim, looks like a model and is very intelligent. You might want to pose that question to Little ellie's "significant udder."

73   Honest Abe   2010 Apr 7, 8:17am

President Obama taught courses in constitutional law at the University of Chicago, and referred to himself as " a Constitutional Law Professor". On March 30, 2007, he was quoted as saying "I was a Constitutional Law Professor, which means unlike the current president, I actually respect the Constitution".

If that's true, perhaps he, or someone else, could point to the specific part of the Constitution that authorizes him to FORCE every American to buy health insurance.

(PS for small minded readers: if you want to respond - respond to the message, not the messenger).

74   Vicente   2010 Apr 7, 9:32am

Honest Abe, are you a racist like your namesake? Just curious.

"I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races - that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And in as much as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race." - Abraham Lincoln, September 18th 1858.

75   Honest Abe   2010 Apr 7, 9:58am

Vicente - I stopped reading at the end of your first sentence. Perhaps you can't read. I requested readers to respond to the message - not personally attack the messenger. So what do you do???

Yea, personal attacks work so well, don't they? Especially when you constantly claim that you're a victim of personal attacks. Once again, this is why you're not taken seriously.

But we're having fun with you and that's all that counts. If you like being the butt of the joke, guys, please do go on...

77   RayAmerica   2010 Apr 7, 11:41am

Vicente ... very interesting quote by a man that was imperfect and a product of his times. Lincoln also wanted to deport most blacks back to Africa because he was convinced they would never acclimate themselves to this society. By the way, how many whites belong to the Congressional Black Caucus? There was a very leftist white Democratic Congressman by the name of Cohen (I believe that's his name) that attempted to join the caucus within the last couple of years. Rep. Cohen was denied membership. The official reason given by the Caucus was "only Blacks are allowed to belong to this caucus." I'd be curious to hear your opinion on this matter; do you believe the Black Caucus is practicing racism by refusing his membership because of his race?

Does "lay and collect taxes" translate in your mind into the government FORCING its citizens to BUY from a PRIVATE entity, in this case, private insurance companies? And if they don't buy this private policy, they will be penalized with a monetary fine?

The gummint isn't forcing me to buy insurance any more than it is forcing me to take out a home mortgage or have kids, both of which would reduce my income tax.

Stop using words that don't mean what you're trying to say.

88   Â¥   2010 Apr 9, 11:08am

^ you can pay for health insurance (which I already do to Blue Shield ANYWAY) or you get the privilege of paying more taxes to the government.

This is to encourage people to cover themselves and not rely on public charity when they need medical services. It is very much a conservative Republican approach to the public health problem -- it's what the Republicans proposed in 1993 in opposition to HillaryCare, it's what the Heritage Foundation (!) mooted in the last decade, and it's what RomneyCare is.

I understand it's not libertarian, but guess what, this is not a libertarian state.

Read his posts. Read your posts. You're angry and constantly fighting against those who disagree with you. If you feel this strongly, why don't you pay the money to start your own forum about how horrible people with political views that are different than yours are? Maybe you two (or more) could split the money - but that would be sharing and bordering on socialism.
