Obama has long portrayed himself as a serious long time Chicago White Sox baseball fan..

"I'm not one of these fair weather fans,'' the junior senator from Illinois and presumptive presidential nominee of the Democratic Party explained.

Watch this. He can't name a single White Sox player. Not one. And the way the question was worded, he could have named any ChiSox player, current or past... but he was at a complete loss, like that Miss teen South Carolina a couple of years back. How many guys can't name a single player on their fav team? Good grief.

Complete poseur.

This is old news. And not really news at all. The guy is kinda busy running the country, maybe he doesn't have time to remember the names of the players. He remembers the names of those people that are important to him.

He was at a complete loss like Caitlin Upton? How's about Sarah Palin, when asked what newspapers she reads and she responded, "Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years."

The President also can't bowl worth a shit. I'm surprised that he was elected, what with his ineptitude at all things sports. Except that there are more things in this life than sports, and I expect the person leading our country to know them.

I say impeach him.

It happened 5 days ago and a lot of people haven't heard about it. I realize that Obama is "kinda busy running the country", but what does that have to do with his not being able to name 1 player on his favorite baseball team, a team for which he claims to be a long time avid fan? This wasn't a general trivia sports knowledge question as you suggest, it was a question asking him to name one player, present or past, on the one team which Obama claims that he's a big fan.

He's a faker

4   PeopleUnited   2010 Apr 10, 1:14pm

He's a poser? SO WHAT? That's why America loves him so much. Reality sucks. Tell me lies! He fixed health care too so give the poser a break. Lets see what else he can "fix." Yes we can again 2012!

I didn't know the Oakland A's were so popular in Hawaii? Bet he can't name any of them either! What kind of comeback is that anyway, "I'm wearing a White Sox hat but my team is really the A's because I'm originally from Hawaii?" Barry, you can do better. Are you starting to lose your ability to speak like your predecessor (don't worry you can never hope to reach his level of nonsense speak)?

Actually even if he did know some players for the ChiSox he probably didn't want to name any in case they used steroids and he be accused of admiring a doper. So lets give him the benefit of the doubt on that one.

As per the original question posed to POTUS: For me it will always be BO. Bo knows!

Whose your favorite Zippy?

5   ZippyDDoodah   2010 Apr 10, 2:12pm

I didn’t know the Oakland A’s were so popular in Hawaii? Bet he can’t name any of them either! What kind of comeback is that anyway, “I’m wearing a White Sox hat but my team is really the A’s because I’m originally from Hawaii?”

It would have been great if the commentators had thought to ask the poseur to name his fav Oakland A after he made that statement. No doubt he was lying about that too (who knew the A's were the team to watch in Hawaii?). It's a pattern with Obama. He gave a speech in Selma telling the audience that as a result of the Selma march, his parents got together and conceived him.. except that Barack was born 4 years befor the Selma march. He was knowingly telling a lie in order to "connect" with the audience. He also falsely claimed that the Kennedy family financed his father's immigration. In his book "Dreams of my father" he lied about his initial job out of college to make himself look like more noble. Obama will say ANYTHING in order to falsely connect with his audience.. he is dishonest to the core. The recent ChiSox phoniness is just an obvious manifistation of this tendency.

I like Bo personally (like you said "Bo knows"), but he was mediocre at best with the ChiSox. As I recall, he had a hip replacement just before he came to Chi-town

Ah yes, the "everyone does it" defense. Lies don't matter, especially if they're coming from my beloved President who is only looking out for the best interest of the poor and downtrodden. Nothing to see here

The Wizard of Nomo says

This is why modern Conservatism is no longer a serious political force. They have no ideas or principles upon which to stand, and instead engage in petty rancor.

Coming from you that is either ironic or hypocritical. You make the call Mr. "if you clean toilets you are a loser."

What Nomo doesn't realize is that he is using the same propaganda he accuses others of.

This is why modern Nomographism/big government collectivism is no longer a serious political force. They have no ideas or principles upon which to stand, and instead engage in petty rancor.

Have a nice day Winston.

This is a trend, not an isolated lie. Now let's look at your track record Nomo in which you make hysterical unsupported claims (petty rancor?) about healthcare. Anyone can scroll this thread to see for themselves http://patrick.net/?p=16740

I didn't see any hysterical unsupported claims. Just a childish insistence that it matters if the president knows who the players of the white sox are.

Search Abbie Dorn

There's a story on the front page of the LA Times today; it's about a woman who became severely disabled in childbirth in June 2006. The question isn't whether she should be kept alive - insurance paid for months in the hospital followed by months in rehab; she's now living in her parent's house off a malpractice award. According to the article her care costs $33,000 per month (all paid by the award). The question is visitation.

Her grandparents insist she should have visitation with her children. Her ex-husband insists that it would be traumatic for the children - triplets - and won't allow it unless the court orders otherwise. They're divorced now, he's the single parent of four-year olds. It should be mentioned that Abbie Dorn is able to blink yes or no, and blinks "yes" to whether she'd like to see her kids. Otherwise, she has no command of her body.

Her ex-husband says that it would be too traumatic for the kids right now... but doesn't rule out a visit later on. So here's the question: should the mother be allowed to see the kids in person, even if it would freak out the kids? Does the need of the mother outweigh the need of the kids?

This isn't an invitation for partisan commentary on the state of healthcare. It's a human issue.

16   ZippyDDoodah   2010 Apr 11, 1:44am

All these claims come exclusively from AM talk radio, tea baggers, and far-right wingnuts. Which one(s) are you?

Your hysterical exaggerations, especially the one you posted yesterday takes the cake over anything coming from the "teabaggers".

Yesterday you wrote this:

Only 17% of each dollar taken in by insurance companies is spent on health care. The other 83% is wasted.

This is/was absolutely incredible ignorance. Had you listened to AM radio you would have known better. You hate out of ignorance, accusing anyone who points out the falsehoods in your drivel as "teabaggers" or "far-right wingnuts".

17   ZippyDDoodah   2010 Apr 11, 2:16am

When Obama was in Selma, he told the audience that as a result of the Selma march his parents conceived him. Except that Obama was born 4 years before that march. He lied.

He also told the audience that the Kennedy's sponsored his father's immigration to the US (they didn't).

In his book 'Dreams of my father' he blatently lied about his first job working for a "consulting house to multinational corporations" in which he claimed to be a bigshot conducting interviews with “Japanese financiers and German bond traders” when in fact he was a junior copy editor working for a small publishing company which published a newsletter on international business. He lied about his job in order to set up his narrative of being someone who gave up the wealthy wall street lifestyle to become a community organizer. How noble of him. And now we learn that he was faking his 'common man' ChiSox schpeel. It was just another of a long string of dishonesty.

When someone establishes a pattern of lying about trivial inconsequential things, they will lie about anything and everything. Obama is simply not an honest man.

Actually, I have the sources for these data in a policy report in my office.

Of course! A "policy report" such as that would only be in paper form, not available on the internet where people might be able to scrutinize it.

Please keep us apprised of this esteemed mystery source which you've cited that drastically contradicts established studies on insurance payout percentages. You can share it with us while you're screaming "teabaggers" at the top of your lungs.

How do you know that the policy report to which he refers isn't available on the interweb? He has it at work and can't cite it right now, does that mean that it doesn't exist in the world of interweb posters? There are many things in this world that aren't available to you, and your post shows exactly why.

Nomo is more serious a poster on this forum, and has been around here longer, than you & your cohorts. Have you noticed that very few people engage you, abe & rayray? I'm guessing here, but it's probably because you have nothing worthwhile to say or respond to. Those of us who do respond are doing it because we're having fun - and we enjoy that ya'll take it personally and display your hurt feelings for the world to read.

The only nobodies here are ya'll. What used to be an informative, interesting forum is now a place hijacked by a few victims who post offensive stuff, probably because you have no other social outlet. Just look at how many people engage when you post - it would be easier if you exchanged phone numbers and called each other rather than to continue as you have.

IMHO, of course. Go ahead and attack me as you three have - it's all you bring to the table at this point.

As for you I need not attack you because your calling others nobody's and getting all emotional over it is proof you can't handle the truth. It's all you bring to the table at this point.

Nomo, please give her a ninth place trophy, that should make her feel better. After that you can call the toilet cleaners "losers" again if you guys need another boost.

Back to the original point of this post: Obama made the claim on the radio at the White Sox opener that "he grew up a White Sox fan, being that I grew up on the South side of Chicago, you know, the White Sox have always been the blue collar team, whereas the Cubs appeal to the white collar." He was then asked: "Who was your favorite player growing up?" Stumped, Obama answered: "I actually grew up in Hawaii and was more of a Dodgers fan." There isn't a kid in the entire country that followed baseball growing up that couldn't immediately name his favorite player. But, we’re asked again to believe Obama is that exception.

Obviously caught in a LIE AGAIN, Obama stumbled, fumbled and fell … exposed again for the natural, easy liar that he is. Just another revelation as to the real character of this man.

32   theoakman   2010 Apr 12, 11:12am

I don't know what's more pathetic, the fact that anyone thinks this is important, or the fact that people are trying to make excuses for him. Just admit it. Obama's got a little Sarah Palin in him after all.
