It's a story about the struggles of man to overcome adversity. Expect movies of the week, a couple of crappy movies and an oscar somewhere down the line for Matt Damon (playing the American who dug the hole the last little bit). George Clooney will play the seasoned engineer who insisted the guys could be rescued, and Antonio Banderes will be one of the miners.
I'm sure there's a part in it for Samuel L. Jackson somewhere...
Seriously, there's a story on line about the order in which the guys were rescued and why. WTF?
I wish the miners the best and am glad that they all came out of the mine OK. . .However, somehow I wonder if they do come into a great deal of money, that a greater tragedy may befall them in the year ahead.
The media seems to have tunnel vision regarding this story but I'll cave in and admit that I dig the outcome. I don't want to pick. I'm just glad they didn't get the shaft.
Chile really seems to know its onions here, according to what I've read in the peppers. This is much more than a miner news story. Remember, a mine is a terrible thing to waste.
Actually, it's really not a matter of either ore.
I'd like to post more but don't serve miners.
Okay, now I'll shut my trap.
Obama sent over a case of Beer for them to drink upon being rescued.
They weren't allowed to drink it though, because they were miners.
I found it too tedious watching them come up “Juan by Juanâ€.
Thankyou! that was frickin' hilarious!
I didn't watch the hole thing, but there's major dirt on one of the minors. His wife is giving him the coal shoulder after it turns out he was two-timing her with another woman. Per the NY Post, the mistress called the wife to tell her about them being trapped. I guess that would make him trapped underground and trapped in his marriage. I'm wondering if he wanted to stay down there a bit longer to avoid facing the music.

What is the fascination with the trapped miners? I mean, I get that it's tragic they got stuck there, and amazing they survived. However the level of media attention to these 30 guys just seem WAY over the top to me.
