Hmm, I starting to think that millenials don't tip at all, because they are always using their debit cards all the time and have no cash. So maybe the waitress was not expecting any?
That would explain also why restaurant prices have gotten so high even during the great recession.

Somehow I'm not surprised in the slightest. You've obviously never had a job that involves tips. But then that doesn't surprise me either. That would be service. And you're above that.
On the positive side, at least you know you were an asshole.

Ask her for a couple bucks back. She's a waitress and has a bunch of cash on her. Something like, "could I get two dollars back please." And then "Thanks" after she does it, would work really well, and she would appreciate it.

I advise you to get a new favorite place. Waitstaff have a way of rewarding customers who stiff them :)
Not sure why you had to repeat basically the same thing but
1.) yes I am cheap, I already admitted as such. If you need further proof speak with my wife and she will give you an earful.
2. I am sad but I have no intent of eating there again for the reasons already mentioned. There was another ramen place on Man vs Food a few years ago that I should probably try.

Just ate lunch at my favorite little Tokyo ramen place. It's cash only so I made sure to hit up the ATM on the way. My bill came to $14.12. I put down a $20. Waitress comes back with a $5 and change. Normally for a lunch like this and decent service I leave $3. Maybe I'm a cheapo but no way in hell im leaving $5 unless the service was amazing, which it wasn't. I could have asked the waitress to break the $5,,,,I guess. Whatever. I just left the change.
