The internet is one of the few, if not only, available ways for Julian Assange, who has been locked up in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London for more than four years, to maintain contact with the outside world. The dramatic claim – which the organization left unexplained – increased a flurry of rumors that had already sparked due to strange encrypted tweets WikiLeaks posted earlier in the day.

The tweet comes as WikiLeaks continues to release a slew of damaging information about Hillary Clinton from the hacked emails of her campaign’s chairman.

Yes, a state actor did it.... based on Russia Today's claims. It's strange how the propaganda mouthpiece of Putin has morphed into the go to site for some on here.

Why not wait until the actual facts of what happened become clearer?

Except NatWest said they were working on a comment. And the shutting down of Russian bank accounts isn't actually that mysterious given their history.

I have it on good authority that Russia did it.

Not so fast! It was actually the underpants gnomes ... with backing by the 400lb hacker.

Somebody needs to show up with a WIFI hot-spot.

Such as, what? Not having the same exact opinion as 100% of Corporate Oligarch Media?

Also, why isn't the US Government calling to a halt of the Mosul operation? Civilians are being killed via collateral damage. Just let Islamic Extremists run the place, like the Administration prefers in Aleppo.

Establishment is trying to protect itself.

10   FuckTheMainstreamMedia   2016 Oct 17, 6:10pm

If they wanted to stop Hillarys leaks, all they had to do was slap some depends on her.

11   MisdemeanorRebel   2016 Oct 17, 6:37pm

There's one other larger than life figure who also has a bone to pick with Hillary, is buddies with Assange, and a shit ton of "File Sharing" experience.

12   Ceffer   2016 Oct 17, 6:41pm

Maybe they should just continue with the fabricated emails.

Ironic rather than strange. Not strange at all given how fucked up our media is these days.

14   justme   2016 Oct 18, 12:05am

Equador did it, under pressure from the US

It is very strange. If you think your own media is fucked up, then you don't gravitate to a far more fucked up propaganda mouthpiece.

Wkikleaks servers are in the ecuador embassy? I didn't know that. When did they move them?

Sp no one other than asstrange has the authority to release all the alleged emails wiki is hoarding? There is no plan for ongoing releases? There is no plan for what to do if assange is cut off?

Come on @patrick, use your brain.

Tell us how you know Assange is the only one that can release the documents? He doesn't have someone running day to day operations while he is living in the embassy? WTF? Just plain silly even for you.

The typo police have been heard from and duly noted. Maybe you can work on something more substantial next. Like spacing and comma placement.

Just playing the devil's advocate here, but is it possible that this is a stunt....? Like we don't actually have anything, so in order to look like we might, we say that our internet access has been cut off, so no one can be quite sure what we have? It does seem odd that no one else would be able to release the documents... and what about the rest of the Embassy? Do the Ecuadorians have a problem with their access being cut off? If their access hasn't been cut off, why can't he just go off their Wi-Fi? And if the Ecuadorian Embassy is located on a row with other embassies, there might be other Wi-Fi access points. He's hacked into a lot of things... I'd imagine hacking into someone else's Wi-Fi would be a piece of cake.

Not Likely. Batch #11 was released this morning; Wikileaks has multiple operatives, not just Assange. However several have had "Connection problems" recently. There are probably backups or backups and randomly-named torrents and thumb drives and everything else.

He probably won't use the Wi-Fi or any wifi for anything important because of security concerns. It's also very possible Scotland Yard is employing a wifi jammer in the area. They are certainly monitoring the Wi-Fi on the entire block at least; the London and UK government is spending millions of pounds keeping him under surveillance.

27   MAGA   2016 Oct 18, 1:45pm

Maybe this guy can help illary stop all the leaks.

28   MisdemeanorRebel   2016 Oct 18, 1:47pm

Assange has more of her leaks than Hillary's Depends.

29   turtledove   2016 Oct 18, 2:36pm

All this shit is making me sick... I cannot believe how many are willing to ignore all the crap going on with the Hillary campaign. Paid operatives to incite violence, pay for play, email/server lies all over the place, contributions from governments friendly to ISIS. Putting the kabbosh on Assange. It's just over the top.

But what we should really worry about is a couple of claims that Trump groped them.... something that didn't bother them until three weeks before the election.

The country has gone crazy.

On another note altogether.... a custom made head piece to my Halloween costume arrived today. I'm one of those super cool old people who dresses out every year. Can you guess who I'm going to be? (Nothing about the au naturale picture, please. Yes, I'm hideous without makeup; I know that already. Focus on the head piece, instead.) husband is going as my executioner.

30   turtledove   2016 Oct 18, 2:39pm

Okay, that's what I get for trying to do that from my phone. I don't know how to fix it. Thought I'd try to lighten the mood given how our country is going to hell in a hand basket. Sorry for the small technical difficulty.

Edit: all fixed now.

I would suspect his room is in a Faraday cage, and his cat5 connection has been pulled from the router or switch.
Or he would be using a cellphone.

No. If I had taken the picture with the necklace, you'd have gotten it in a second. Anne Boleyn. I have the "Tudor green" dress, now the head piece (French hood), the choker "B" necklace.... and the French swordsman (my husband, the executioner). I just enjoy how excited the little ones get when I answer the door all dressed up.
