“I expressed my profound dismay at the leaks that have been appearing in the press, and we both agreed that they are extremely corrosive and damaging to our national security,†Clapper said.
Judging by all the urine jokes flying around, you still have to prove the report is false.
Rumors are fun, aren't they?
Absent proof that the "dossier" is a fabrication, your best strategy is not to talk about it.
Many people think there is no smoke without fire.
That's only the times they are caught.
I wonder how many "high level officials speaking anonymously" are just the reporter farting around.
Once upon a time, Editors would disallow Anonymous Sources unless there was other supporting evidence, the source was told to the editor and deemed reliable, and the story was of incredible importance.
Once again you've proven you don't even know what fake news is. And obviously cannot show what is fake about the CNN story.

Fake News is shit that didn't happen, based on pitiful 'evidence' that would be rejected in nearly any other case except that which pushes an Oligarch's narrative.
"Fake News is shit that didn't happen, based on pitiful 'evidence' that would be rejected in nearly any other case except that which pushes an Oligarch's narrative"
Was Trump an oligarch then when he was pushing the Obama birther story? Or Sheriff Arpaio? Is he an ogligarch?
Those got a lot of press.
Still waiting for you to identify anything CNN wrote that could even remotely be considered "fake" news
Could you point me to where Clapper says it's false and fictitious?
He can't. Ironman is guilty here of fake news.
I said that two days ago when the lie broke, no Intelligence community would write a Gossip dossier based on hearsay and accusations.
They probably trusted the spy from the UK who put the report together. It has not been proven not to be true, Einstein. It is exactly what was done to Clinton. Live with it until it is proven false.
This article from last January was very prescient:
http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/01/donald-trump-2016-authoritarian-213533
It predicted that Trump's popularity would grow and that he would have some success with Dems and Independents.
It's a silly notion. Most politicians refuse to answer some questions, or ignore the question on go on some unrelated tangent, or say some something so vague as to be meaningless. This is what politicians do.
In a room full of journalists he gets to shut down one that is screaming and rude to answer others.
Nothing dictatorial about that.
So you're claiming you're not an ISIS supporter, you just don't know what you're talking about? Ignorance? Blind belief in mass media? Just shut up until you've done some research. Until then I've got one word for you: "Ba-aa-aa!"
So now we're going with the Dictator angle Oye vey!!!
Why can't you braid dead simpleton motherfuckers come up with all of these verbal assaults at once.
You know it seems so petty and cheapish to piece mail it one at a time as the previous ploy fails.
So you come up with another one. Anyone that has ever seen a ten year old knows Liberals politics flawlessly and can predict your next move.
I thought you bastards were Smart?
if the hacking by our ardent enemy does not make you sick to the stomach, you are not American
Hacking is a fact of modern life. Tons of private information is stolen to criminals every day.
Or emails can get subpoenaed in a lawsuit and become public, or they can be leaked.
Politicians just have to adjust to the fact that emails are not 100% secured.
Especially if you run your own server.
What was the questions perhaps they were stupid questions.
Obama surly didn't answer what he thought were Stupid questions. Remember Joe the Plumber? The MSM ripped him apart.
More over Obama didn't give many press conferences and only 3 SOTU addresses after it looked like Trump was showing the world what an American leader looked like.
Trump was giving SOTU addresses every day from the Primary trail.
Merely sticking the word "Unverifiable" in a Fake Ass News Story, then deflecting blame by protesting you're only reporting on Buzzfeed's reporting of the story, doesn't cut it.

Hillary would just hand the journalists the questions she want's asked in advance instead.
Hillary would just hand the journalists the questions she want's asked in advance instead.
And have a cuter young woman actor ask the question as it was spontaneous, as we have seen in the campaign.
They were. People were testifying all over Stern on 9/11 and the day after.
Remember that Stern was the #1 talk program by far in the NYC metro area. It's pretty rare for 1010 WINS or Channel 11 WPIX to take viewer calls.
And when was the last time Hillary held a press conference?
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/may/31/hillary-clinton-yet-to-hold-single-press-conferenc/
Hint: She is famous for not having them lately.
"Merely sticking the word "Unverifiable" in a Fake Ass News Story, then deflecting blame by protesting you're only reporting on Buzzfeed's reporting of the story, doesn't cut it."
That's not what they did. They reported on a very newsworthy story that intelligence officials were briefing Trump about Russia potentially have compromising information on him. You don't think that's news??
Still waiting on TLL Lips to point out specifically where CNN reported anything "fake" news.
CNN did reference the document and the Buzzfeed story. Saying it was "Unverified" was not enough - it shouldn't have been reported in the first place.
IRAQ HAS WEAPONS of MASS DESTRUCTION!
Stupid Republicans still looking for evidence.
Why did/do YOU IGNORANT ASS rEPUBLICANS allow YOUR RIGHT WING
LYING CONSERVATIVE COMMENTARY MEDIA to ever speak or print the words,
IRAQ HAS WEAPONS of MASS DESTRUCTION?
BECAUSE you're STUPID & LOVERS OF LIES!
Fake news= Rep/Con Political RIGHT WING Partisan outlets.
The only good thing to come out of Iraq is DEAD & INJURED FOR LIFE Republicans/Conservatives.
COLLATERAL DAMAGE for IGNORANCE in voting.
Call you Rightwing representatives, they will make sure the VA will take care of you medical problems
IMMEDIATELY.
I don't give a Damn about DEMOCRATS. Because STUPID!
ASSHOLE TRUMPLICANS are on the hook in a few days.
You will experience SHOCK & AWE!
Liberals live in a bubble.
They have no concept of the damage that the policies they parrot have on the average American.
Will CNN get pissed off enough to do serious investigative journalism
into every breath that trump ever took?
I doubt it,too.
very newsworthy story that intelligence officials were briefing Trump
I'm talking about the BS 35-page word document CNN reported on.
I love seeing Democrats defend the powerful interests;
1. Of the War-Lobby
2. Of the Massive Surveillance State Obama vowed to fix but never did
3. Of the Oligarch Concentrated Press pushing their angle, esp. Re: Russian "Danger"
4. With Neocons as Allies.
"I'm talking about the BS 35-page word document CNN reported on"
You mean the one they didn't report on? Please show me the report you are referencing.
Also, we have this dictator BS conversation every time a President isn't eligible for another term.
Freepers were screaming it with Clinton in 2000.
Various Left Wingers were screaming it with Bush in 2008.
What's novel this time is that it's the party that controlled the Outgoing President that's doing the bitching about dictators, AND the Media is not only not mocking them, nor granting the traditional honeymoon period, it's upping the ante and becoming more desperate to deligitimize the incoming President Elect. With the cooperation of at least some powerful groupings within the Intelligence Community as well as noted Neocons.
"Wolf Blitzer didn't mock Trump's birther beliefs on air?"
Of course they did. They don't report fake news.
http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/10/politics/donald-trump-intelligence-report-russia/
Which officials did CNN speak with? Unnamed, Unprovenced sources again? How can I take unidentified people at their word?
How come Clapper (to CYA most likely) just distanced himself and the intel community from the veracity of these nonsense Word Documents?

Clapper and Trump both have confirmed the story is true. So, let's try again. What is fake?
And Clapper didn't distance himself at all. He said they are still investigating.
Did you find that fake CNN story yet?
CNN's reporting on a Fake News Rumor, on a document that even David Corn at Mother Jones rejected as Over The Top Nonsense weeks ago, along with claims they interviewed unknown people at unknown times about the content, is here:

Nope. Try again. CNN reported that intel officials briefed Trump about Russia potentially having compromising materials on him. That is ALL true.
Nope. Try again. CNN reported that intel officials briefed Trump about Russia potentially having compromising materials on him. That is ALL true.
CNN has reviewed a 35-page compilation of the memos, from which the two-page synopsis was drawn. The memos have since been published by Buzzfeed. The memos originated as opposition research, first commissioned by anti-Trump Republicans, and later by Democrats. At this point, CNN is not reporting on details of the memos, as it has not independently corroborated the specific allegations. But, in preparing this story, CNN has spoken to multiple high ranking intelligence, administration, congressional and law enforcement officials, as well as foreign officials and others in the private sector with direct knowledge of the memos.
What has changed since then is that US intelligence agencies have now checked out the former British intelligence operative and his vast network throughout Europe and find him and his sources to be credible enough to include some of the information in the presentations to the President and President-elect a few days ago.
On the same day that the President-elect was briefed by the intelligence community, the top four Congressional leaders, and chairmen and ranking members of the House and Senate intelligence committees -- the so-called "Gang of Eight" -- were also provided a summary of the memos regarding Mr. Trump, according to law enforcement, intelligence and administration sources.
This is an attempt to legitimize this nonsense, plain and simple.
Yes, we've never had the Press carry the water of insiders before.
Michael Cohen met with Russian operatives in Prague, just like Muhammad Atta met with Iraqi Agents in Prague not long ago.
OK, let me rephrase that . They hacked and used it to influence our election.
In a country with free speech there are always people trying to disrupt and influence. It has always been the case.
But we are now in a world where any foreign country can run web sites and publish information directly to your citizen, by-passing any establishment press.
The first answer to that is to first be more transparent, more truthful, and more honest - so that your acts and words are not so easily turned against you.
