Trumps surrogates estimated the crowds and told him. He just repeated what he was told.
Nothing exciting here...move on.

So why did Trump's press secretary in his first press conference lie about the crowd size

Putin's agents are holding Spicer's wife hostage.

79931   anonymous   2017 Jan 22, 6:34pm

Trump shouldn't have said anything about the crowd size. Such a topic seems petty and unimportant and appears to be driven by his tremendous ego.

Given that, this topic/debate doesn't deserve any more energy devoted to it. It's ridiculously stupid.

libbies were so butthurt inaugural day. they saw shadows of a stretcher ridden hillbill putting her icepicks on the bible..

How do you know the empty white areas in the top-left photo are the same as the areas filled in the bottom photo?

79937   anonymous   2017 Jan 22, 7:30pm

Got it. You're correct. The top-left photo does not reflect what Gigapixel shows, which is the crowd appearing to be completely full. Lame reporting by the Left.

79938   FNWGMOBDVZXDNW   2017 Jan 22, 7:36pm

Metro ridership stats show Trump's inauguration had much less traffic than Obama's. It also showed that the women's March generated much more ridership than the inauguration. Sad. Trump's 1.5 million figure was of by at least a factor of three. Sad. He's defending his crowd size much more vigorously than he defended his dick size. Funny.

This is absolutely wonderful news! I didn't expect to be cheered up by anything this weekend. I could not care less if every Hollywood star who has an active career simply disappeared. Even if that means losing the last season of some decent series. There are talented table wait staff all over LA who I would cheer for.

It is much like the music industry. Huge groups like U2 or Paul McCartney have gone from making tens of millions in album sales from each record to zip zilch. Now, the money comes only from touring, merchandise, and cross-marketing - and they are the lucky ones. Many groups are simply gone. They won't make another record, screaming that the fans have destroyed the industry. Well, no one cares. I simply don't miss hearing six new Don Henley songs that don't exist.

Look at all the open white areas in the left side of the top picture. Do you see the same open white areas in the second picture?

Of course not. It was taken from a different angle focusing on the very front. In both pictures, that area was full.

Oh wait, Trump supporters actually work and OWN cars and can drive in....

You've clearly never tried to drive in and park near the mall. It's fine on a normal day. It would have been crazy for the women's March and nearly impossible unless you showed up 8 hours early. The parking garage at the metro stop was nearly full when we got there. People were told to take the metro because the organizers realized this. The whole March route was packed with people, and you couldn't walk within a block of the route because there were people packed from wall to wall. Keep on making dumb assumptions. You are embarrassing yourself.

Movies are dying. TV shows have taken over.

There's something to this! The series is the most popular form of novel, riffing on the most popular form of storytelling from long ago where people enjoyed "serial" stories of Hercules and Beowulf. A movie isn't a series, though it can be part of one and (surprise) the most watched movies are serial as well (Harry potter, Star Wars, x-men). Television shows allow a complex narrative to unfold in a fictional universe ever enriched in history, culture, and wonder as the series unfolds. Many novel series are perfect for this sort of adaptation, where a movie might fail to grasp even the edges of such a complex story and wind up feeling both too long and rushed.
Some good adaptations of fiction series into tv shows include: "True Blood," "Game of Thrones," "Dexter," "The Walking Dead," "The Expanse," "The Magicians," "Homeland," and others.

It's funny, because you use CNN as a source whenever it agrees with your narrative and call it fake whenever it doesn't. It highlights your thought process for all to see.

79957   FNWGMOBDVZXDNW   2017 Jan 23, 8:59am

The fact that there are no good pictures of Trump's 'historic crowd' despite his preoccupation with popularity is telling. It's not like there is a lack of cameras these days.

79958   FNWGMOBDVZXDNW   2017 Jan 23, 9:04am

Base of American culture? Lol. Hollywood culture / reality TV culture is what got Trump elected. It's not the good part of our culture, either.

Maybe it is strategy to put the MSM on notice that he emans business and will not back down from a fight. But not sure why he is picking on crowd size-but in the election he did many things that I thought was strange-but he won. So I guess he knows what he is doing-or maybe we are too used to the Bush type repubs who never say anything back when the MSM goes all crazy.
It will be interesting-it is time someone called the MSM on their bias. Where were they in questioning Obama's if you like your plan you cna keep your plan, questioning TPP, questioning his embrace of NSA/Patriot act when he campaigne dagainst it etc etc etc.

2012 - obama 65,900,000 votes
2016 - Trump 63,000,000 votes

Lol obama had far more votes, he trumped Trump bigly!

I was thinking of attending, but was put off by the threat of violence, protests, vandalism.

As typical of CNN and MSNBC, the threat of vandalism and violence were not as advertised. I read that

79964   Entitlemented   2017 Jan 23, 10:30am

greater than 300 people were arrested.

Its a very peculiar situation - Republicans do not protest with an eye toward violence and vandalism. Republicans just sat by and took it when NAFTA halved the number of manufacturing jobs.

Maybe Libertarians/Republicans/Independants should take a cue from Democrats! If there is even the slightest perception of a wrong, it gets amplified 1000X on CNN, and viola, you have a protest.

He's "still campaigning". He cares about popularity, impression, and people paying attention to him ... most of all.
If anyone is still waiting for something more Presidential from Trump, you are going to be waiting a long time.

Except it doesn't. The Giga pix doesn't disprove anything.

And what supposed liberal lie is that?

79968   FNWGMOBDVZXDNW   2017 Jan 23, 11:23am
