Yes, I got sunburned all the time in the past from even small sun malfeasances.

I'm half Irish myself, and I still get burned pretty easily. Probably just random genetics. Already had skin cancer once, on leg. It was just a basal cell cancer, easily removed, but annoying. My dad and my sister have also had basal cell cancers. Fortunately, the serious skin cancer, melanoma, is not so related to getting sunburned.
