We're not a proper country anymore. Not even close.
“The rules of the game changed,” said Lande. He pointed specifically to a California law that further limits when the police can use force.
“Let’s say you see a guy, he’s just robbed a bank, he’s got a gun, he’s running now into the preschool,” said Lande. Once upon a time, that would have been enough to justify using force. Now you’ve got to be confident that a crime is “imminent”—and sometimes you’ve only got milliseconds to figure that out.
If you get it wrong, and if the skin color of the cop and the victim suit the narrative that cops are propping up the institution of white supremacy and wantonly snuffing out black bodies, you could be prosecuted as a murderer.
“It’s not tenable for my family,” Lande said.
In response, cops started quitting their jobs. A 2021 survey showed that police departments nationwide saw resignations jump by 18 percent—and retirements by 45 percent—over the previous year, with hiring decreasing by five percent. The Los Angeles Police Department has been losing 50 officers a month to retirement, more than the city can replace with recruits. Oakland lost about seven per month in 2021, with the number of officers sinking below the city’s legally mandated minimum.
Chicago has lost more cops than it has in two decades. New Orleans is backfilling its shortfall of officers with civilians. New York is losing more police officers than it has since such figures began being recorded. Minneapolis and Baltimore have similar stories. St. Louis—one of the most dangerous cities in America—has lost so many cops that there’s a seven-foot-tall, 10-foot-wide pile of uniforms from outgoing officers at police headquarters called “Mount Exodus.” ...
“When I was a cop, we were afraid we might mess up and get in trouble,” said Peter Moskos, a former Baltimore police officer who teaches at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. “But you had to do something wrong. Now cops are getting in trouble for doing exactly what they’re supposed to do.” ...
The consequence has been a surge in crime. As it turns out, police weren’t the threat to black lives that we were assured they were. Their absence was the real threat. ...
Why did the killing of black people increase rather than decrease in the two years after the killing of George Floyd and the mainstream acceptance of Black Lives Matter? Because the news media, Black Lives Matter, and the progressive politicians who support them demoralized, disempowered, and in some cases, defunded the police. Officers, in turn, responded by pulling back from routine police, quitting or retiring early, or moving to less dangerous kinds of work, including in other cities. And without police, criminals became emboldened. ...
Employees at O’Hare International Airport have reached their limit with another abject failure by embattled Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
Staff are speaking out over the rise of homeless people moving into one of the busiest airports in the world.
Thousands of Chicago homeless are now seeking refuge inside O’Hare, according to CBS news.
Employees sent the network photos of people sleeping on heater vents, using the terminal to dry their clothes, and trashing airport bathrooms. Pictures of the same have gone viral on social media.
Vonkisha Chatman and Catherine Thompson told the network they fear for their safety. “It’s out of control,” Chatman said. “None of us feel safe.” Chatman and Thompson work overnight hours as custodians at O’Hare.
“They will come up behind you. This one man followed us last night,” Thompson said.
In Denver, you just hop onto the train, they have "people movers", it's easy.

Mega-prison in El Salvador for 40,000 suspected gangsters – which has only 80 beds for every 100 inmates - welcomes its first new inmates with vow 'You will never walk out of here'
El Salvador has the highest incarceration rate in world with 2 per cent of their population currently in jail
Recently the government has cracked down on gangs and arrested 63,000 people under state of emergency
Unfortunately, those reprobates who have not been incarcerated will flee to the US and be welcomed by the lunatic Left here with the possibility of residing in. a $500/night hotel room in NYC.
This is the horrific moment a man casually loads a handgun and executes a homeless man on a St. Louis sidewalk.
The incident occurred yesterday outside The Globe Building.
Harrowing footage shared online shows Deshawn Thomas, the shooter, standing behind the homeless victim as he sits on the sidewalk with his hands covering his ears.
After around 20 seconds, the gunman loaded his gun and shot the man at point blank range.
Chicago man arrested twice in same day for breaking into cars while wearing ankle monitor for two pending cases where he also broke into cars
Meet Rodolfo Santillan, a Chicago criminal who wears an ankle monitor for two car burglaries he committed back to 2021.
Last Tuesday, Rodolfo, ankle monitor and all, found himself in familiar territory — inside a random vehicle trying to get his hands on anything of value he could find. Before he knew it, however, the owner of the vehicle had him at gunpoint.
A Chicago police officer just happened to be passing by and astonishingly he pointed his gun at the owner of the vehicle, a concealed carry holder, because he thought maybe he was robbing our ankle monitor criminal. The concealed carry holder set his gun down, let the officer know what was going on, and then Santillian was taken to the station on misdemeanor charges.
However, just six hours later, around 4:00 p.m., Rodolfo Santillan was released from police custody on a recognizance bond, which means he paid zero dollars to get out.
Amazingly, just two hours later, well, you can guess…
About two hours later, Chicago police arrested Santillan again. This time it was in the 5000 block of West Belmont.
Prosecutor Victor Aberdeen said that two workers were detaining Santillan when officers arrived to investigate a vehicle break-in report. They told the police that they had caught Santillan inside their work van. Cops also allegedly found doorbell camera footage of Santillan taking work tools out of a nearby car.
Man, this dude is resilient as they come.
Two car burglaries in the same 10-hour period!
All while wearing an ankle monitor he received back in 2021 for two more car burglaries.
And who knows how many he got away with in-between.
After seeing yet another story like this out of Chicago, it's no wonder voters took to the booth to remove Beetlejuice from office.
D.C Police Chief Overrules Democrats: ‘We Need to Keep Violent People in Jail’
The head of Washington, D.C.’s police department has overruled the city’s “woke” Democrat lawmakers by warning that the way to stop crime is to “keep violent people in jail.”
Metropolitan Police Department Chief Robert Contee explained that the “average homicide suspect has been arrested 11 times prior to them committing” murder.
Contee made the comments when asked what he can do to stop a rising murder rate in the city.
“What we’ve got to do if we really want to see homicides go down is keep bad guys with guns in jail,” he said.
“Because when they are in jail, they can’t be in communities shooting people.
“So when people talk about what we’re gonna do different or what we should do different or what we need to do different, that’s the thing that we need to do different.
Wild video captures rowdy NYC ‘wolfpack’ trashing Chinese restaurant
“Nothing is going to happen to [the criminals]. They will be charged as juveniles and be back out on the street. Their friends will see the video, and they will be treated as heroes in the ‘hood.
“This is College Point. This never used to happen in College Point,” Sliwa said. “The city is out of control.”

WTF?
"The NYPD staffing emergency is approaching the point of no return," said Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Lynch.
The shocking stats show 239 officers tapped out in January and February, a 36% spike from the 176 who fled in the same period last year and a disturbing 117% jump from the 110 in 2021, NYPD pension data show.
That's the highest number of resignations for the first two months of a year since 250 members quit in 2007 during a contentious contract dispute.

Cellphone video caught the moment a male and female pounded a car's windows with a gun, stomped the doors and windshield, and ordered the driver to "get out!"
Need to change Chicago to Shitcongo.
I’ve said it before. Being close enough to go anytime I want. I may never set foot in the city again.
It was bad when I lived there and worked there till 2017. I think 2019 was the last time for a Cubs game.
Honestly there’s nothing to do. It’s the 5 sports teams, Navy Pier, Mag mile, river tour and a shitload of bars. So the draw is drinking, shopping and sports. The food is the only thing I’ll miss but as I get older I’m finding my taste buds are changing a (some text omitted to shorten quote...) tely crap meat. And I can get pretty close cooking on my own at home for 1/4 the cost with top quality locally sourced meat.
I’ll keep advising people not to go to Chicago or any major city for that matter. Without a mindset change by leaders it’s simply not worth it. I never was this way but it is becoming as dangerous as going to a 3rd world country. San Diego is my only visit for the foreseeable future. I’ll be outside the city most the time though besides the last night.
A Minneapolis teen was ruled incompetent to stand trial after shooting someone in the head. A few months later, he shot another person in the head.
