U.S. cities that virtue signaled by defunding their police departments are seeing record crime levels, forcing many city leaders to rethink their basic levels of intelligence.

Here's what has happened in a few cities that voted to slash police budgets:

Homicide grew by 44% in New York, which had 1,531 shootings and 462 murders in 2020.
Homicides also increased 36% in L.A. to 350, leading the police chief to say "a decade of progress" has been erased.
Minneapolis, the center of the "Defund the Police" movement, saw a 46% increase in murders.
Oakland, California has seen a staggering 314% increase in homicides.
Portland, Oregon has seen murders triple.
Austin, Texas has had a 26% increase in aggravated assault reports.
Chicago saw a 65% increase in homicides from June 2020 to February 2021, despite arrests dropping 53%.
Philadelphia hit a 30-year-high with homicides in 2020, with 499 people murdered.
Even smaller cities like Louisville, Kentucky had a record high of 173 murders and is on track to surpass that this year.
The New York Times reported that many such cities are now expanding their police budgets to try to deal with these outcomes that absolutely no one could have seen coming.

Just hire Blacks as cops to replace them, like they did in Memphis.

im seriously getting to a point that i think we should not have police.

everything is a crime in this country, too much government. maybe we should just drop all policing, all of it. our culture is shit. lawyers everywhere, lawsuits all the time, everything a crime or assault… fucking sick if it all.

The perps know what's up; if the local poliltical climate is relaxed towards criminals, they have fun and do crimes without worry.

I have seen an interesting contrast; I was bicoastal for a while between Santa Cruz CA and Jupiter Florida.
I also spent time in Juno Beach, FL which is next to Jupiter, analagous to Capitola CA.

In Jupiter/Juno Beach FL criminals do not fuck around; the cops do not tolerate any funny business. On the other hand, they're overly nice to people in general, particularly over 50 age.

I saw a couple of guys walking around Juno Beach, and they had wandered into a residential area (not gated however).
In a few minutes cops came in cars and started asking them "Do you live here? What are you doing?"

When I am a true geezer I will likely be back full time in Florida and have a roommate who can handle a gun, I'll probably have a dog too.

https://slaynews.com/news/its-out-of-control-airport-employees-warn-lori-lightfoot-over-growing-homeless-problem-inside-ohare/

Employees at O’Hare International Airport have reached their limit with another abject failure by embattled Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

Staff are speaking out over the rise of homeless people moving into one of the busiest airports in the world.

Thousands of Chicago homeless are now seeking refuge inside O’Hare, according to CBS news.

Employees sent the network photos of people sleeping on heater vents, using the terminal to dry their clothes, and trashing airport bathrooms. Pictures of the same have gone viral on social media.

Vonkisha Chatman and Catherine Thompson told the network they fear for their safety. “It’s out of control,” Chatman said. “None of us feel safe.” Chatman and Thompson work overnight hours as custodians at O’Hare.

“They will come up behind you. This one man followed us last night,” Thompson said.

In Denver, you just hop onto the train, they have "people movers", it's easy.

Totally disagree. I walked 1 mile in one of those terminals before at DEN. I tracked it. Not sure if you haven't been in a while. They extended the gates east and west at each terminal by like 10-20 gates. People movers are shit as well as no one is respectful on them because they only fly once every 5 years and just stand there. Food service is non-existent unless you walk half a mile to it in that center corridor where you go down to the train. Which is then another haul to get to baggage claim if you checked anything. It's a top 3 shitty airport for sure.

The parallel terminal thing with the train in between is a god awful design. It makes sense for the airlines, but you end up stuck in an airport for an hour just getting out of the fucker.

With regards to Midway in Chicago, you'd have to be a cripple or geezer to not get to the next gate in under 5-7 minutes. The furthest would be the end of A to the end of B at MDW. If you exit the airport, you're talking 5 minutes to be outside. Not a chance in hell you're getting out of DEN in under 5 minutes. Same with ATL. Kansas City still takes the title of shittiest airports I've been to.

The best part of Midway is that it's maxed out. It can't be expanded any further without tearing down 100's of millions in homes (value). I'm biased because Southwest basically is the airport, but I've been to a solid amount of airports in my life. There are other small airports I like, but for the traffic, MDW is for sure one of the best. Now the surrounding neighborhood is a different topic...

Was just at Midway last week. I bitch a lot when traveling. I told my wife they finally pushed the black skelator sign to the side (Lightfoot). Tourism is super visual. Whether business or pleasure, the last thing you want to see is that fucking thing staring you in the eye upon arrival. If they move it back, I'm going to push it to the side again.

I was with my buddy who lives in Michigan and was like, someone won the fucking day pulling that move tossing that bitch in the corner. He didn't get it, but I did. And no I'm not racist. I doubt there's a human on this planet that can tell me a photo of Lightfoot makes you look forward to the city you're visiting. You're likely scared at that point.

Mega-prison in El Salvador for 40,000 suspected gangsters – which has only 80 beds for every 100 inmates - welcomes its first new inmates with vow 'You will never walk out of here'

El Salvador has the highest incarceration rate in world with 2 per cent of their population currently in jail
Recently the government has cracked down on gangs and arrested 63,000 people under state of emergency

I've that this policy has reduced El Salvador's murder rate, which was the highest in the world, mostly because of gangs. A comment on the article:

Unfortunately, those reprobates who have not been incarcerated will flee to the US and be welcomed by the lunatic Left here with the possibility of residing in. a $500/night hotel room in NYC.

Sadly, all too true. Democrats are a hazard to public safety.

This is the horrific moment a man casually loads a handgun and executes a homeless man on a St. Louis sidewalk.

The incident occurred yesterday outside The Globe Building.

Harrowing footage shared online shows Deshawn Thomas, the shooter, standing behind the homeless victim as he sits on the sidewalk with his hands covering his ears.

After around 20 seconds, the gunman loaded his gun and shot the man at point blank range.

Chicago man arrested twice in same day for breaking into cars while wearing ankle monitor for two pending cases where he also broke into cars

Meet Rodolfo Santillan, a Chicago criminal who wears an ankle monitor for two car burglaries he committed back to 2021.

Last Tuesday, Rodolfo, ankle monitor and all, found himself in familiar territory — inside a random vehicle trying to get his hands on anything of value he could find. Before he knew it, however, the owner of the vehicle had him at gunpoint.

A Chicago police officer just happened to be passing by and astonishingly he pointed his gun at the owner of the vehicle, a concealed carry holder, because he thought maybe he was robbing our ankle monitor criminal. The concealed carry holder set his gun down, let the officer know what was going on, and then Santillian was taken to the station on misdemeanor charges.

However, just six hours later, around 4:00 p.m., Rodolfo Santillan was released from police custody on a recognizance bond, which means he paid zero dollars to get out.

Amazingly, just two hours later, well, you can guess…

About two hours later, Chicago police arrested Santillan again. This time it was in the 5000 block of West Belmont.

Prosecutor Victor Aberdeen said that two workers were detaining Santillan when officers arrived to investigate a vehicle break-in report. They told the police that they had caught Santillan inside their work van. Cops also allegedly found doorbell camera footage of Santillan taking work tools out of a nearby car.

Man, this dude is resilient as they come.

Two car burglaries in the same 10-hour period!

All while wearing an ankle monitor he received back in 2021 for two more car burglaries.

And who knows how many he got away with in-between.

After seeing yet another story like this out of Chicago, it's no wonder voters took to the booth to remove Beetlejuice from office.

D.C Police Chief Overrules Democrats: ‘We Need to Keep Violent People in Jail’

The head of Washington, D.C.’s police department has overruled the city’s “woke” Democrat lawmakers by warning that the way to stop crime is to “keep violent people in jail.”

Metropolitan Police Department Chief Robert Contee explained that the “average homicide suspect has been arrested 11 times prior to them committing” murder.

Contee made the comments when asked what he can do to stop a rising murder rate in the city.

“What we’ve got to do if we really want to see homicides go down is keep bad guys with guns in jail,” he said.

“Because when they are in jail, they can’t be in communities shooting people.

“So when people talk about what we’re gonna do different or what we should do different or what we need to do different, that’s the thing that we need to do different.

“Nothing is going to happen to [the criminals]. They will be charged as juveniles and be back out on the street. Their friends will see the video, and they will be treated as heroes in the ‘hood.

"The NYPD staffing emergency is approaching the point of no return," said Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Lynch.

The shocking stats show 239 officers tapped out in January and February, a 36% spike from the 176 who fled in the same period last year and a disturbing 117% jump from the 110 in 2021, NYPD pension data show.

That's the highest number of resignations for the first two months of a year since 250 members quit in 2007 during a contentious contract dispute.

That happened in 2020 and the cop was fired in 2021 and pled no contest last year.

I don’t know what his undersized female partner was supposed to do other than tell him to stop and call for backup.

The cop snapped and had no business being on the force at the time this incident happened. He was old and probably well qualified for retirement. I can’t understand why any cop stays on into their 50’s in Commiefornia. You’ve had enough time to get your crap together. Cash out your lotto ticket home, retire, move to another state where cost of living is cheaper, and live around people who genuinely respect you and the work you do.
Cops staying on in big city Commiefornia really ought to think twice.

LAPD is down 800 officers(probably more now as it increases each month) due to jab and imbecile politician embrace of blm. So 10,000 cops in 2018, 9200 or fewer now, on its way down to I estimate 7500. And no one applies either. They can’t fill their academy classes. I’d expects LASD experiences the same

I can’t express how dumb anyone not planning an exit from City of Los Angeles is. That place is gonna turn into a hellhole. Already Figueroa St is the human trafficking Capitol of the US, with children working as prostitutes each night. And business closing down left and right. Wait until huge parts of the city don’t even have one patrol vehicle during parts of each day.

Need to change Chicago to Shitcongo.

I’ve said it before. Being close enough to go anytime I want. I may never set foot in the city again.

It was bad when I lived there and worked there till 2017. I think 2019 was the last time for a Cubs game.

Honestly there’s nothing to do. It’s the 5 sports teams, Navy Pier, Mag mile, river tour and a shitload of bars. So the draw is drinking, shopping and sports. The food is the only thing I’ll miss but as I get older I’m finding my taste buds are changing and a steak is a steak at this point unless it’s absolutely crap meat. And I can get pretty close cooking on my own at home for 1/4 the cost with top quality locally sourced meat.

I’ll keep advising people not to go to Chicago or any major city for that matter. Without a mindset change by leaders it’s simply not worth it. I never was this way but it is becoming as dangerous as going to a 3rd world country. San Diego is my only visit for the foreseeable future. I’ll be outside the city most the time though besides the last night.

San Diego and Salt Lake City are the nicest big cities I’ve ever visited. San Diego used to have bad areas on the fringes of downtown, but they are the one California big city that actually improved their homeless situation from where it was 20 years ago. Everyone else got worse. Austin was nice when I visited 25+ years ago, but even it had its really rough areas(we stayed one night in a &$*%# motel with bullet holes in the walls). Now I hear it’s much worse.

San Diego’s ghetto is almost non existent and even the low income Hispanic neighborhoods are relatively ok. Downtown is genuinely nice.
