Whistleblower Bradley Manning has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, and he should receive it.

Sign the petition to demand that Manning be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and send a message to our government and the world that whistleblowers are heroes and we need them.

Perhaps, but I don't watch RT News for news about Russia.

.... and don't read Pravda to learn the truth. Gotcha.

I don't follow. RT News nails it on American news regardless of how poorly it handles Russian news. Why should I ignore RT News America when they cover important matters accurately that other news agencies in America don't? That makes no sense.

What he has done since, warrants a reprimand, but at least there was reason for giving him the prize at the time.

What has Arafat done LATELY? :)

Got his ass exhumed.

Yeah. That's what I meant. He's been pretty quiet, except for the digging.

Does ANYONE believe that Obama deserves or did deserve his NPP? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

I think he denied that he deserved it at the time too. That said, it actually made sense. Being the "First Black President" alone basically eliminated all race-based hatred in America. I know this because Republicans constantly claim they hate him because of policy differences, and not because they're racists.

He ran on a peace/withdrawal platform, justice, fairness in the economy and in sentencing.

He's no MLK, but it seems to be largely the same. Did MLK actually fix anything? He spoke eloquently on a lot of issues. Resisted the status quo, and embraced it at other times. He was a flawed, complicated guy who couldn't change the entire system single-handedly.

I think the failures say more about the country than the men who win, frankly.

I know there must be racists in the Republican Party, but I have never met one. They all swear up and down that they're not racist, and I believe them.

Guess I'm just lucky.

You raise a good point: all Republicans now claim that Obama's election means that racism is extinct in the United States. His victory in 2008 is therefore extremely noteworthy for having eliminated racism, though perhaps not worthy of a Nobel Prize.

I figured the idiots in Oslo were just bitch-slapping the retards who voted for Bush in 2004, by thanking the United States for electing a non-neocon President - or at least one not openly so, anyway.

Really? You can't miss them. They have calves the size of an Iowa congressman.
