Everybody who gets grants predicting that we are entering the next Ice Age will be happy.

That's nice mish, but the global temperature continues to climb. Not as quickly the last 4 years as the 30 before that, but it's still going up. There is more than winter in the northern hemisphere to the planet.

If only the IPCC had praxeology, they'd see the light!

Mish must think that climate-change booga-booga will hurt the price of gold.

Sure has... Just look, a 1.5 degree change in 127 years!! No wonder I'm sweating!!

You almost put together two complete sentences in one single post. Has mommy been helping with your patnet posting or did you finally graduate 5th grade? Educational advancement is certainly something to be applauded. Bravo.

Yep, when you finish pre-school, we'll give you a trophy!!

Very nice, keep working on that rapier sharp comeback and you'll be able to match wits with my 6 year old soon.

Perfect! Climate change is caused by Mises "Human Action"

Bull shit the planet has been cooling for the last 5 years.

No cap the trend is still up but is very slowly up the last 5 years. That's consistent with predictions that there would be ups and downs in any warming trend.

Maybe he can teach you how to read a thermometer!! You obviously don't know how.

I know how just fine. Maybe she can teach you what it means. You obviously don't know what.

Some dimbulbs think global warming (Climate change ) refers to the current or near term weather in one location.

Or worse, they don't realize that if it was always getting warmer (than past years) in all locations on earth that we would be talking about a MUCH MUCH more rapid and very extreme, traumatic event in the short term than what global warming is zzyzzx says

Hey, whatever you do, don't let facts or reasoning get in the way of you making a fool out of yourself.

19   humanity   2014 Nov 9, 11:50pm

Call it Crazy says

Yep, that's definitely "near term"!

The dimbulbs are the ones teaching math in CA!

You're posts make less and less sense all the time.

We have a bunch of people who think that if one specific location has the coldest day on record, or if one week in Montana is especially cold, that it negates the theory.

Thank you for posting the graph showing the degree to which the trend in very clear and very much in tact.

Sorry if you're so intellectually challenged that you can't appreciate that a delicate balance has been achieved on earth over many milllenia, and that a 1.5 degree change, if caused by man is indeed very significant. Changing the climate across the planet is no small feat.

You might also want to look in to something called feedback loops.

How is it that conservatives who base so much of their political pov on fear don't get this? I think there is only one reason, and it's so sad.

It's because it's a democrats issue. I guess it's also that they are so gullible to propaganda coming from the fossil fuel producers.

You know you're pathetic right ?

Climate Change is real. It may be largely anthropogenic.

That being said, it also has advantages.

1. Most of the land in the world is in the Northern Latitudes.
2. Milder weather means longer growing seasons in Northern Canada, Siberia, Scotland, Northern Plain States, etc.
3. Taiga expanding into Tundra and Temperate Grass/Forests expanding into Taiga means more carbon using plants, growing faster due to longer growing seasons.

Mish says

Cold air builds over the expanse of snow, strengthening the pressure system known as a Siberian high. The high weakens the winds that circle the North Pole, allowing the cold air to leak into the lower latitudes. The term Polar Vortex actually refers to those winds, not the frigid weather.

So cold air moves from arctic to lower latitudes.
Proof of global cooling in conservative circles.

Welcome to the galactically stupid....
