If you have to change it, change it to this:
Yeah. Well the history on that guy hasn't been written yet. All we know so far is that we are now at the tail end of the mother of all credit booms, that he started, and we are all fucked.
In time, the bullshit nonsense about trickle down will be totally invalidated and his reputation will go down in flames with it. In the long term he will be remembered as an actor that was a pretty good figure head, who presided over the biggest economic sweet spot in American history. Even Bonzo wouldn't have fucked that up. Interest rates dropping hard and continuing to drop hard after Carter's appointee Volker destroyed inflation (with extremely high interest rates), and Reagan and the congress did the most massive increase in deficit spending ever , when it wasn't even necessary, given the massive tailwind of dropping interest rates. His catering to the plutocracy with tax rates that were too low, will not be viewed well, after we pay the piper for our financial sins, no matter how hard the right wingers try to pin it on planned parenthood.
I guess you can always hope for some kind of dictatorship that gets to write whatever history they want. You know, sort of like Kim Jong-un is considered a deity in northern korea according to their history books. That would be the only way that history will be kind to Ronald Reagan.
Hey, I said he was a good figure head.
Seriously though, do you really think that any President would not look great in this environment ? And that's combined with massive deficit spending ?
There was never a chance that this would not be huge boom times.
Those are long term rates. Prime rate peaked at a little over 20%
1. This isn't a liberal issue
Your home boys are changing the $20. It's their priority to get Hillary more election credit and Obama more legacy.
There is one major problem with Tubman: helping organizing John Brown's deadly terrorist attack on Federal property.
It's all fiat currency. Why would anyone care who's picture is on worthless paper?
FMTT
Why can't they put a sexy woman on the bill?
You know, like the oh-so-handsome Abe Lincoln (the very picture of health) or "Ow, my dentures hurt!" Washington.
Lincoln
Now there is one they should replace. How about with Calvin Coolidge or Grover Cleveland.
You are a racist, Wayne. Home boys?
Gary where I live everyone here is a "homeboy". It's how we talk around here.
Andrew Jackson did some good and some really bad things. It isn't mandated that the same person be on money foreever.
There isn't a mandate they change it either, they are only doing it to make Hillary look more presidential. Changing pictures and history is what commies and Nazi's always did, I don't like it.

The Libertarian website Reason applaud having Tubman on the $20.
She is definetly a worthy choice. Hamilton is definetly not a worthy choice.
don't put people on it.
Part of the brain is evolved specifically to recognize faces, and so putting faces on currency helps to make counterfeiting more difficult. Even a slight difference in a face would be easily detected, even by children and the illiterate.
WaPo has a nice article on Harriet Tubman and some of the amazing things she did, along with a nice image of what a Tubman $20 might look like. According to WaPo, Tubman received a pension of $20/month resulting from her work for the union army. She had also a disability (possibly epilepsy), and her $20 bill might be the first to have braille for people with disabling vision.

maybe in the days before photoshop and scanners, but today copying a face is easy enough. There's a lot of anti-counterfeiting tech in the $20 bill, but it's in things like watermarks, labels, and extremely fine print and lines.
I just don't like the idea of deifying people.
I just don't like the idea of deifying people.
Currency and deification are not inherently connected, contrary to whatever misimpression might have been created by the unfortunate 1950s legislation signed by President Eisenhower to put "In God We Trust" on every piece of currency.
In fact, I had been thinking almost the opposite about the proposal to put MLK Jr. on money. He sacrificed financial opportunities and risked his life and reputation to help people who didn't have money, including leading a poor people's march on Washington. The idea of putting him on money surprised me as much as putting Reagan's name on an airport.
Put Reagan's mug on American currency,he was as worthless as the fiat money.
I wouldn't wipe my ass with Ronald Reagan faced toilet paper.
Fuck Ronald Reagan's: “Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.â€
Eight years as CA .Governor ,eight years as U.S.President. Big Govt. paycheck lover.
Tax raising asshole, must have been looking for more taxpayer dollars.
Tax raising asshole, must have been looking for more taxpayer dollars.
Regale us with how that is so.
Currency and deification are not inherently connected
No, but they often go hand-in-hand. See zzyzzx says

No, but they often go hand-in-hand.
Whats the diff?
Make that image belt-fed, and I will sell all my assets and convert them to twenties.
DieBankOfAmericaPhukkingDie says
Belt-fed Tubman is what America is all about.
The Belt-fed did not come out until after Tubman's time.
The thing about the shotgun is (in my best Bill Burr voice) spread.
Now all problems are solved
NO, everyone knows that the only solution to all our problems is reducing taxes on increments of income over 250K
Deficits might be bad, but when they are caused by not taxing the wealthiest 2% of Americans enough, it's good because of how much of that money that would have gone to government investment in things like infrastructure, scientific research, and not deficit spending, trickles down to our economy via the job creating investments.
Your home boys are changing the $20.
Just because you don't differentiate between the many vastly different political groups does not give you the right to put them all under one label, dumb ass.
Furthermore, you have cowardly refused to answer a simple question. What the fuck is your problem with there being a black woman on the $20 bill? Why does it matter so much to you?
What the fuck is your problem with there being a black woman on the $20 bill? Why does it matter so much to you?
I answered it twice, you just refuse to read it. I don't have a problem with a black woman, I have a problem with why they are changing a $20 bill. The only black woman with whom I have a problem with, is you Dan.
I'd like to know how getting Tubman on the 20 dollar bill is supposed to help get Hillary elected. It's not easy for FortWayne to surprise me with his idiocy, but he still manages to sometimes.
they are only doing it to make Hillary look more presidential

Wow, sexist and racist in one breath.
I have a problem with why they are changing a $20 bill.
Exactly who are "they"?
Exactly what do you think the reason behind the change is?
Exactly why is that reason a problem to you?
I'd like to know how getting Tubman on the 20 dollar bill is supposed to help get Hillary elected.
They (Democratic party elite that pulls Lews strings) think having a chick on a money gives Hillary more credibility. So that they can do a feminist media campaign when she is eventually "preselected", (Sanders never had a chance, don't kid yourself, your vote don't matter when Hillary runs unless it is for Hillary).

Jackson was the last President to close down the US central bank. They tried to assassinate him for it. I think he was only on their initially as a mocking gesture.

Liberal priorities, I guess they couldn't think of anything more important to do with their time. And they also apparently hated Jackson enough that thought he was no longer worthy of being on a bill. I bet they'd remove George Washington from the $1 and put Stalin or Mao on it if they could. Idiocy when liberals are in charge.
