Sadly, I have to confirm MMR's news. Her FB account wasn't much used, but her friend has a huge post from yesterday with the news. She leaves behind two 12 year old girls, a husband, and a lot friends who will miss her dearly.

She will also be missed by many on Patnet.

I know I will miss her. 😥

I didn't correspond with her privately that much, but we did share a few emails back and forth. She was a very genuine and generous person.

I remember Turtledove talking about the pleasure she had with her children. Her joy sent a healing energy, even over the internet. I always thought of her as a healer after that, even with the jousting.

She loved and she was and is loved, which is more than can be said for a lot of people.

I'm pretty sure she would not accidentally poison herself, and I'd rule out fire as well since I bet they would have mentioned that. If we know if she had a pool or not we could maybe rule out drowning.

It's bad enough she was only in her 40s, but just as bad that she has young children.

She struck me as beautiful, intelligent, strong-willed, fiercely independent, yet forgiving.

I feel sorriest for them, especially since it was sudden and she hadn't been expected to die. I lost my father when I was only 14 and for several years I was terrified my mother was going to die of a brain tumor as she had headaches all the time--as it was she lived to be 94.
