Post your examples of TDS here.

I'll start with a Shtetl Maus possessing great neurosis.

TDS my neighbor hates him with a passion; but she's circumspect to rail about him to me since she knows I have lived in Mexico and later California so I know what's up.

Recently I was at a dermatologist office. The guy had brightly dyed blonde hair, sort of odd glasses, seemed a little bit too "metrosexual". He burned something on my skin with frozen nitrogen and said he would Rx me some cream. They told him my insurance doesn't want to pay for that stuff and I said "no problem, I can buy it. If I need more I can get some down in Mexico sometime."

"Oh, isn't that where there's gonna be a wall?" he sneered.

He's likely another New Yorker transplanted to Florida so he's among the most clueless Americans with an education you can find.

It's funny to me. The dimbulbs come upwith this "TDS" becasue they want to somehow look down on the majority of the country that believes Trump is the worst PResident ever.

Is there anyone that believes the 38% or whatever it is, of the country, that like Trump, are (on average) of above average intelligence ?

I mean this as an honest question, although I guess it's also a put down.

But seriously, does anyone think that ?

Perhaps it's a special kind of idiot savant perspective that can appreciate the advantages of having an amoral narcissistic clown as President.

Chabad and Mossad are the secret forces behind Trump, says Newsweek Politics Writer Nina Burleigh.

I said Newsweek, not Stormfront.

Wait - can't why can't Muslims have their own, separate heaven? One where killing fellow humans is allowed?

Liberal propaganda works well.

CovfefeButDeadly says

put it down to the same reason blacks, gays, trans, and SJWs of all colors think he is some mad racist ready to bring back the lynch mobs.

I REALLY do not understand this line of thought at all. Where are the mobs causing these people to crap their pants? Why is it they are incapable of defending themselves?

Could it be tendencies toward objectivity and above average intelligence ?

Surely if TRUMP haters are the group of above intelligent citizens, they should easily be able to manipulate the dumb TRUMP voters to vote for a DEM in 2020. They've been given 4 years to figure it out too....But it somehow appears that these highly educated morons turn everything they touch into a FUBAR circle jerk...I don't get it marky.

I'm sorry. It's hilarious. Man, I never thought I'd be on the side of really disliking liberals. I used to think they had ethics and morals, no, they just oppose anybody that is called "a republican".

They are by far, the most propagandized group in the United States, and I'm saying this remembering I watched in horror as I saw person after person defend the Iraq War over the non existent weapons of mass destruction program. Of course, they figured it out, but it took them a decade.
57   Karloff   2020 Sep 22, 4:18pm

The liberals of yore supported free speech, differences of opinion, honest education, and fair play.

What we see today is something much farther left than the classic liberal. Liberals were too tolerant and weak, and it allowed them to be pushed aside or converted into the raving communist puppets you see today.

You know, I suspect the liberals haven't changed. They just call themselves "conservatives" now.

My parents for example are pretty conservative. They believed the BS about the Iraq war, but after 15 years I got through to them. Trump did a lot of that, in a debate he said directly that the Bush administration lied the nation into a war and was surprised he wasn't impeached - it's obvious now that the Democrats were in on it now.

Jimmy Dore has ALMOST had a revelation. He was extremely critical of the Iraq War, but also the bombings Obama did. Still he hates Trump, but at least, he hates Biden worse. I really can't see much that is objectionable with Trump, at least compared to our last 4 presidents. One thing I like about Trump, he's stopped the lie that the US government is "impartial" when it comes to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. I don't like it, but at least I know what I suspected for 3 decades was true after all.

One thing that used to annoy me was the use of "RINOs" (Republican in Name Only) - to me it was just the "Not a true Scotsman" fallacy. I understand it now if only because all the Democrats are DINOs, maybe with the exception of Tulsi Gabbard, Dennis Kucinich, and Mike Gravel.

Most of what looks like political disagreement is simply Democrats not understanding how the real world works.

They don’t understand bank loans or the difference between cash and physical assets. We learned that this month.

They don’t understand that money makes both news and science mostly fake.

They don’t understand how DEI is a supply problem not a demand problem.

They don’t understand how free speech works, or the point of it all.

They think the experts are telling the truth.

They don’t understand the degree to which their opinions are the result of intentional brainwashing.

They don’t understand that teachers unions have destroyed education and that school choice is the only viable solution.

They don’t understand the necessity of nuclear power.

They think the temperature of the planet can be accurately measured.

They think unlimited empathy for immigrants can work out well.

They think there are too many humans in the world, not too few.

They think the national debt is not a big issue.

They think releasing criminals from jail improves the lives of some communities.

They think removing guns from citizens does not create a risk of government abuse.

They think crimes not proven in court didn’t happen.

They think their kids are looking at Trump as a potential role model.

They think there is no big risk from TikTok compared to American-controlled social media.

They don’t know why half of their own kids are suddenly LGBTQ, against all odds.

I could go on. But it’s obvious why life experience turns liberals into conservatives.

^^^ @Patrick had one helluva those life experiences.

The phrase "A conservative is a liberal who has been mugged by Reality" sure has LITERAL meaning for him.
63   Patrick   2024 Mar 21, 11:31am

I wasn't actually mugged. My first day in SF ever I just walked up Market Street and didn't know that it gets pretty sketchy going past the Tenderloin. A black fellow walked up to me in a not-friendly way and said "How bout some change, snowflake?" I just kept going. Similar things happened repeatedly over my years working in SF, but no one actually mugged me even though it seemed likely at times. Life in Chicago was like that too.

Once in Seattle a similar looking black guy pulled out a large knife in front of me, but he didn't say anything. Again I just kept walking and he didn't chase me, but it could have been rather bad.

Then there was the time I saw one black guy shooting at another one on the highway outside Detroit, in front of the car I was riding in. It was an interesting cross-cultural experience. The two guys in front were Pakistani, one of them a co-worker of mine. The Japanese wife of the other Paki was in the back with my wife and I. My wife and I knew to duck. The two Pakis were unfazed. One of them said "Small caliber weapon, not a problem." His Japanese wife asked if a bullet could go through a car window.

It's quite obvious to me at this point the more educated a person is, the more easily brainwashed they are. I think Jewish people tend to have a higher level of education, but that doesn't make them more intelligent. I saw much of my education as nothing more than "this will make them give up on this bullshit". I spent 1/2 semester learning to analyze an amplifier that had infinite output impedance - a circuit that was very fast as being a multiplier for a signal, but was so weak it couldn't drive anything (in theory - but not in reality, but couldn't drive much of anything). It was used for a short time on CRT televisions in the 1970's for the scan line, and nothing else.

Was that a good use of 8 weeks?

But I trusted my professors.

Disturbing your composure by asking for money or spare change IS a mugging, just mugging lite. Anything with intimidation, even virtue signaling or relying on appeal to compassion or empathy to manipulate, is a mugging. Force and physical threat is just an escalation.

I disagree, by your definition, begging is a mugging.

I have had several homeless people ask me for money, and instead of giving them money, I asked them what they wanted the money for, one guy said for food, so I took him to a restaurant and gave him a nice meal. He had a dog with him though, and I'm a sucker for dogs.

Most recent examples of mass TDS:

Anyone who backed the Scamdemic - "You're KILLING GRAMMA!!"
Anyone backing Ukraine money laundering scam/blames Russia instead of US government for US problems...
Anyone backing Israel Holocaust of Palestinians

The liberal obsession with Trump may have started this, but the above three examples have elevated TDS to a whole new level.

The Ukraine/Russia situation and the middle east conflict are far more complex and nuanced than the scamdemic, toxxines or TDS where the facts are on one side. Not comparable imo

Actually, they are pretty simple:

70   fdhfoiehfeoi   2024 Mar 22, 9:27am

When it comes to Ukraine Russia you are correct. But I'm not talking about the events, I'm talking about the observers who take false dichotomy positions in an attempt to paint everyone as either for or against them. These same people always believe themselves to be on the moral high road, despite justifying terrible atrocities against other humans, and callously turning a blind eye to them. And this radicalized position constantly causes them to be in conflict with facts, which is where the TDS sets in.

So when you look at it that way, the similarities are eerie.

The Gaza Holocaust is not nuanced if you are willing to objectively examine independent sources, human rights organization reports, and most importantly, Israeli government sources, and those of Jews living in Israel, and across the world. There's nothing "nuanced" about exterminating an entire population...

The people supporting Israel will deny it's happening and when it's over they will either deny it happened, or will make some lame ass excuse as to why it was justifiable.
72   fdhfoiehfeoi   2024 Mar 22, 9:35am

And selfishly I want them to face reality, because I know from history that once you go down this slippery slope, it's just a matter of time before the holocaust machine is turned on you.

Yeah, I know. The Patriot Act was turned against the entire US population, propaganda has been turned against the US population, it's just a matter of time before the Federal government starts to drone strike the US population. People never learn to the point I don't consider most of them people.
74   mell   2024 Mar 22, 10:57am

This is bs. A holocaust requires the systemic eradication of a race or group of people. There are over 2MM Palestinians living in Israel, almost 25% of the total population. It's language like this trivializing real genocides/holocaust. Similar to calling a very conservative person a nazi.

That's what it requires? Well, the systematic eradication of Jewish people didn't happen in WWII, so I guess that whole thing is a myth, and Jews should just the fuck up about it.

I agree that the holocaust has been exaggerated in numbers and abused. But the treatment of the Palestinians by Israel doesn't compare to that of the Jews by the Nazis imo.

It's just more drawn out, that's all.

A holocaust is the extinction of not only the gene line, but a culture. The US had a holocaust against the native Americans. The Palestinians are being destroyed "they weren't even ever a country, they were never a people" - well, they were never a country per se, but that region has been around for centuries and they are a distinct people.

Zionists ARE engaging in genocide and have been for over 75 years. "It was a land without a people for a people without a land", yeah, except it was populated. It WAS a major food producer at one point.

All this shit going on is because of 10 million assholes, all this garbage. If Israel wasn't fucking there, we'd probably not even bother with the Middle East at all.
