The memo - if it is ever released will be neither "explosive" nor "alarming" nor "shocking". It will not "rock" Washington in the slightest.
You are wasting your lives here folks listening to questionably sourced BS.

You mean the one written by the House Intelligence Committee chairman? I'm sure he just made the "questionable information" up, right?
It's now day 9 since we were told this wasn't gonna be typical insider Washington BS but something "shocking" and "explosive".
What does the number of days it hasn't been released have ANYTHING to do with the content of the memo?
anon_743c2 saysWhat does the number of days it hasn't been released have ANYTHING to do with the content of the memo?
Because it shows that the memo isn't really that "explosive or else it would have been released already.
Trump has to power to release it--why hasn't he done it?
President Trump broke with the Department of Justice last week by calling for the release of a four-page "FISA memo" purportedly summarizing widespread surveillance abuses by the FBI, DOJ and Obama Administration,
Wait, wasn't it the Blue team that recently said it takes YEARS for a investigation to run it's course. Now you guys are all upset because a secret memo hasn't been released in 9 days?

Come on Joey, is this the best argument that you can think of?
Congress and the DOJ have to clear it first and make sure any classified info doesn't compromise the investigation.
The President can declassify anything he wants and release it immediately.
If Trump wants the memo released, why doesn't he do so?
So many people in jobs surrounding Trump in the last year so have decided to throw in the towel, it looks like they’re saying “fuck this shit”

Honest question, is he allowed to? Thought I heard some committee has to approve its release before he even has a say in it.
The President can declassify anything he wants and release it immediately. The fact that he says he wants it released but doesn't do it is actually quite funny.

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, frequent target of Trump's ire, steps down:
Is that clear enough?

The President can declassify it.
anon_034aa saysIs that clear enough?
Except he can simply declassify it and make the rest of that moot.
but POTUS simply CAN NOT just declassify and release it because he has NO AUTHORITY to do so since it isn't an EXEC Branch document.
Can Trump declassify this or not?
WookieMan saysCan Trump declassify this or not?
No, it belongs to congress, as mentioned above.

is difficult to understand?

Technically though, members of Congress that have read the memo still can't talk about it until it's officially declassified if I'm to take the words literally. I don't think Trump just talking about it or even reading the memo verbatim would technically declassify it. I could be wrong, but that's my interpretation.
What's funny is Trump saying he wants the memo released, but not doing it.

That's probably true. What's funny is Trump saying he wants the memo released, but not doing it.
Because it's NOT an Executive branch memo, so he can't release it. Here's some education for a few of you:
trump can't actually force the release.
Not his report TO release/declassify.
We have discussed the process numerous times. The Committee has the authority to release it PENDING POTU and Nat Security Council and other agencies approval (Protecting personnel undercover and operations ongoing as well).
Exec Branch has 5 days to approve or reject release (or indicate portions which might be dangerous to personnel if released).
After 5 days, the whole House can vote to force release.
Should the Committee vote to NOT release it gets complicated, but POTUS simply CAN NOT just declassify and release it because he has NO AUTHORITY to do so since it isn't an EXEC Branch document.
Is that clear enough?

Lawmakers who have seen the memo are calling for its immediate release, while the phrases "explosive," "shocking," "troubling," and "alarming" have all been used in all sincerity. One congressman even likened the report's details to KGB activity in Russia. “It is so alarming the American people have to see this,” Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan told Fox News.
“It's troubling. It is shocking,” North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows said. “Part of me wishes that I didn't read it because I don’t want to believe that those kinds of things could be happening in this country that I call home and love so much.”
“I believe the consequence of its release will be major changes in people currently working at the FBI and the Department of Justice,” he said, referencing DOJ officials Rod Rosenstein and Bruce Ohr.
Meanwhile, Rep. Matt Gatetz (R-FL) said not only will the release of this memo result in DOJ firing, but "people will go to jail."
Of all the recent developments in the ongoing investigation(s), this one is on the cusp of turning into a genuine happening.
