Facebook now hated by the media because it proved that the "Russian collusion" story is false

Facebook used to be a media darling, so I was wondering how the media could turn on one of their own so quickly and viciously, and attack it every day since. The answer is simple: the head of Facebook advertising, Rob Goldman, provided public proof that the story about Russian collusion via Facebook was a complete fabrication by the press.

Now the media is painfully embarrassed about being caught in their lie, and this makes them angry at Facebook.

President Trump's weekend tweetstorm included a shout-out to Facebook executive Rob Goldman, who in his own tweets had argued three points that Trump found supportive to his claim that there was no collusion between Russia and Trump's presidential campaign.

1. Most of the 3,300 Russia-linked Facebook ads that the social network discovered and disclosed last fall were designed to sow discord in the U.S. political system, not to swing the 2016 presidential election in Trump's favor.

2. Most of the Russian ad spending occurred after Election Day.

3. The media does not cover these points.

What's truly amazing is the inability of the media to admit that the American people elected Trump in a free and fair election. Since their defective candidate lost, they make up fake news and spin in circles looking for someone to blame.

Facebook is being defensive about ads that are understood to have been accepted them and run, by Russia for the purpose of sowing discord in America. Regardless of whether there was or was not collusion with Trumps campaign, don't those ads reflect poorly on Facebook ? I think dislike of Facebook has been building for years. The Russia ads just take it to a new level.

Yeah. It couldn't be that. IT has to be about how the media hates Trump.

Also let's let them do their investigation rather than take Facebook's word for it.

Do you know that? Or this the assumption? Maybe they just wanted to push people through to biased websites for click through money. Trolling american biases w goofy memes seems much more like a cheap business model, rather than a world-class psy-op.

So that's why he put out this statement the next day.

“I wanted to apologize for having tweeted my own view about Russian interference without having it reviewed by anyone internally. The tweets were my own personal view and not Facebook’s. I conveyed my view poorly. The Special Counsel has far more information about what happened [than] I do—so seeming to contradict his statements was a serious mistake on my part.

I have seen all the ads Portman said. There were 11 million views on the ads which cost russians 200k. Portman somehow forgot about the 150 million views on russian accounts that they spent 1.25 million A MONTH on. Which the indictment lays out in detail. Whoops.

I wonder why the OP and trump forgot to talk about where he says he screwed up?

You have the right of it. Goldman said that appeared to be the purpose, especially since most of the ads ran AFTER the election and were geared towards fomenting unrest and organizing “protests” against a democratic election, as if that’s not the silliest idea ever. Since protesting only works within democracy, protesting democracy is an oxymoron. Sort of like the idiots who were duped by the Russian ads!
This cold truth is the reason why media (who were the willing servants of said discordant activities), politicians (who tried to capitalize on said discord), and oligarchs (who paid for the protest marches) are feeling so goddam embarrassed right now! They just found out that they were the Russian Collusion they were striving so hard against!
Leftists hoisted by their own petard, yet again.

What if you had only a mild "maybe" belief (opinion ? bias ?) that Clinton is a criminal, and then see several BS facebook stories about her murders, or pizza gate, or whatever, confirming your bias and making you somehow now so opposed to Hillary that you could even vote for Trump, a known pathological liar and blowhard con artist.

That's interesting. I've heard what may be nothing more than rumors that the ads were somehow extremely targeted to districts that could help swing key states.

I don't claim to know whether that's true, but if it is, it begs the question, how did they get that info ? IT would be so messed up, if true.

This is readily available info. Anyone who puts $5 into an ad would be able to do this.

The fact is the VP said most ad spend was after the election, so even the framing of this question is inaccurate.

The entire thought thought process is a manufactured narrative.

ROFLOL. Russian intelligence spending millions on thousands of fake accounts filled with fake news that got millions of views while pretending to be americans to influence the elections is a giant who cares. Soros fully reported contributions to the clinton campaign is the end of the world as we know it level of influence on the election. Who says the right wingnuts have no sense of humour.

How is the search for 8 million illegal votes going? It's been 18 months so it should all be documented and ready to present by now. I would think this would yet be another BOMBSHELL revelation that is going to send Hillary and Obama to jail. Why aren't they in jail already? There has been so many BOMBSHELL revelation of crimes commited by these traitor bastards. WTF has the slacker in the white house been doing? How about Indian or Nigerian Troll Farms, Bots, and others? Mein Gott there were and are a ton of fake accounts and bots out there for Hillary and the DNC, respectively. Sometimes you had 2000 twitter accounts saying the exact same thing within minutes of each other.

Well, if States like Washington vetted voters instead of using the honor system, we might be able to track it.

Unfortunately, they know that vetting creates evidence, so they don't vet.

There was an article saying Trump won't be able to use his Twitter Judo on Amazon/WaPo/Bezos.

Did anybody think a year or so ago, that Facebook would be hated by the Left and fall down to the level of Comcast in the public's regard?

To the contrary, Facebook was getting accolades for their "Fact Checking".

Now look at Youtube. The MSM of course hates youtube because dudes with a cheap embedded laptop camera have more views than some professional programs with million of dollars in salaries and production costs - and in the demographic advertisers care about most. Youtube began hiding content that wasn't advertiser friendly and demonetizing political videos of all kinds because advertisers don't like them, pulling down innocent content like Nasim's because it probably had "Iran" in the title, as in "Iranian Recipes with Dandelion Flowers - So Vegan!".

Youtube is now losing reputation, and fast.

Don't think for a minute Amazon and WaPo can't be brought low.

These things have been perculating a long time, and long periods of inaction are often followed by short periods of intense change and upheaval. We're living in one of those. Yesterday's common wisdom is out the door.

Sure, right. After all hillary has such a long history of saying such nice things about russia and Trump didn't spend the whole campaign sucking putin's balls. I'm sure that the only thought the rusisans had was making sure that each candidate was treated equally. ROFLOL.

Huh, who was talking about trump bombshells?, Trump is one long continuous non stop self bombshell. You guys have been posting about hillary/obama bombshells for almost 2 years. Yet nothing has happened. Doesn't trump care about America? How can he have these two criminals running loose so long. What happened to prosecute criminal hillary the first day in office? Where are all the illegal votes? Where is the wall? Why do we still have obamacare? Why are we still in 2 wars, actually 3 since we are in syra? What happened to the FANTASTIC team of people trump put together to MAGA?

My candidate lost in the republican primary. Hillary and Trump both suck equally. Trump was a fucking joke in the 80's and isn't any better now. Somehow he managed to bankrupt some of the top commercial properties in Manhattan multiple times. Then he bankrupted casino's. A casino is a business where people walk in and hand you money with no expectations of anything in return. How can anyone fuck that up? If it wasn't for daddy's huge bank account and daddy pulling in favors to get a lot of government money for trump projects (trump is just more republican who believes government spending on other people is wasteful) he would be a busboy at margo de lago.

Sorry dude I don't have to move on anywhere. I'm free to point out that trump is a shit president any time I like.

Sure, thats an opinion.

OTOH, your entire point above was russia influencing the election via FB bots in favor of trump, which there so far is zero evidence for.

Both FB's and our own GOVT's assessment was that the election was in no way affected. FB VP went so far as to suggest the election could not possibly have been affected given the bipartisan nature and post election timing.

LOLZ at people who think $50k of facebook ads can influence an election.

You are both ignoring the assessment of all the expert opinions we've heard so far AND you are pretending there is evidence which doesnt exist, all the while fantasizing that a tiny operation of rogue internet trolls somehow not only out influenced George Soros's billions, the MSM's straight anti trump propaganda, and HRC's extra $billion spent.... nah $50k of FB meme ads are somehow not just relevant, but the core of Trump's nefarious plans w Putin to usurp power from the rightful HRC heir.

This is such utter stupidity, so hard not to LOLZ at you.

Either way, most of the ads were placed after the election, and the media still downplays this fact.
