The mortality rate of flu is less than 0.1%, against 2% for that virus. And 20% cases are serious.
Since the dawn of the Trump era, countless experts have warned that the president's lack of credibility would imperil the country in the event of an emergency.

As the coronavirus outbreak worsens, those fears may be coming true... https://t.co/vFo8MJZV7i
Remember that heat wave in France a few years back that killed over 10,000?
Yes, and when it passes with no major affects, are we going to give Trump credit for avoiding a catastrophe?
I rather dislike my interactions with French people
I used to hate the French also until I was stationed at Le Tube Air Base in southern France during the 1990s. The locals there were very friendly and were very nice to Americans, especially the older French. They remember who pushed the Germans out.

That and Social Security.
I don't know of a single person who's gotten any of these flu's, ... you had this coming...
Coronavirus poses a serious health, diplomatic, & economic threat, & we must be prepared to confront it head-on. So I’m introducing a bill to transfer all funding for @realDonaldTrump's racist border wall to @HHSGov & @USAID to combat coronavirus. https://t.co/8IEhBWRjeL pic.twitter.com/9oAF0A2lGT

Yeah... people who died from the flu must have had it coming.
No other possible explanation....
I'd venture to guess most people dying from this are fat, old, lazy, smokers.
If anyone is interested in inner city issues, this book is about the heat wave that hit Chicago in '95.

Most of the dead seemed to be elderly from bad neighborhoods who locked themselves in for safety, and had no air conditioning.
Porcelli finds the stock market reaction severe.
“To be sure, we sympathize with the narrative that some economic activity could be lost for good. In other words, you don’t double up on certain services spending once the dust settles because you put it off on COVID-19 fears. But a short-term drop-off in activity (even if not fully recoverable) has a diminishing impact on the net present value of future cash flows the further out your horizon goes! In other words, even if we are looking at a supply shock where postponed activity does not fully get recaptured, it still does not warrant a [more than] 10% repricing in a market that is supposed to be forward-looking in nature and ultimately realigns with fundamentals,” he says.
Porcelli acknowledges it is difficult to trust Chinese data, but points out that the infection rate outside of Wuhan is incredibly low. The Guangdong region, with a population of 110 million, has an incredibly low 0.001% infection rate, he says.
Huh, we have a case in California of a woman who has no risk factors. She's never gone to China.
Maybe she ordered some cheap Chinese goods from Amazon and got a little bonus in the package.
