Leftist violence is a huge and growing problem, but it's kind of negative as a theme for this site.

What might a better tagline for this site be?

Possibilities:

Let's discuss it.
We can all be happy.
I like America.
The airing of grievances.

Other ideas?

Are you arguing that the police in this country are considered left-wing?

Until the recent anti-police activities, Police Unions were typically strong Dem supporters.

Automan Empire says
The war on drugs, civil asset forfeiture, eminent domain, militarization of police, private for profit prisons, the Patriot Act, the TSA, wars for neocon interests, and in recent history, the draft

All bipartisan ideas.

Some comedian said, "if the Democrats and the Republicans agree on something it's the people who are getting fucked".

46% of the prison population is non-violent criminals.

Nominally nonviolent.

Many violent criminals plea bargain to a lesser non violent charge. Most criminals commit multiple crimes before getting caught. I will argue that stealing from hardworking people IS violent. It essentially reduces them to slavery. I guess you could argue slavery is not violent if your master only takes your labor and doesn't whip you.

Civil society needs laws enforced and punishments meted out.

I started on this site because I wanted to buy a house mid 2008. Your practical advise convinced me to buy in 2011, and my 133k purchase is worth over 350k now.

Almost all of my net worth was driven from what I read here. I'm not rich, but I'm paying my house off this year, aiming for debt free next year.

There are bigger markets out there, but a real estate / financial focus is what brought me here and kept me here

Me too. You could literally see him turn red when he argued why he was right and why you were wrong.

Quack!

I think so too.

I have been so inspired by https://slatestarcodex.com/2014/12/17/the-toxoplasma-of-rage/ that I found a new tagline, at least for now:

"Understanding Partisan Division"

https://patrick.net/post/1334160/2020-07-30-understanding-partisan-division

Even if partisan politics are always going to be with us, at least a good understanding of it will helps us avoid the worst effects.

Part of it is that RE and stocks simply kept going up year after year in a rather boring manner. There weren't any fluctuations since the 2008 crisis and hence nothing to talk about.

It just seems wrong not to have "fuck" somewhere in the tag line.

WOW! Ignorance has no bounds.

Are you arguing that the police in this country are considered left-wing?

How are police left or right wing? The protection of citizens and their property is the most basic function of government. Unless you are an anarchist moron and consider government as right wing regardless of the politics system it Or it’s citizen implements.

What's your definition of "right-wing"?

Currently in the US? It’s anyone that believes the constitution as it stands ought to be the governing document by which we live.
