Facemasks in the COVID-19 era: A health hypothesis
Baruch Vainshelboim⁎

Abstract
Many countries across the globe utilized medical and non-medical facemasks as non-pharmaceutical intervention for reducing the transmission and infectivity of coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19). Although, scientific evidence supporting facemasks’ efficacy is lacking, adverse physiological, psychological and health effects are established. Is has been hypothesized that facemasks have compromised safety and efficacy profile and should be avoided from use. The current article comprehensively summarizes scientific evidences with respect to wearing facemasks in the COVID-19 era, providing prosper information for public health and decisions making. ...

Conclusion
The existing scientific evidences challenge the safety and efficacy of wearing facemask as preventive intervention for COVID-19. The data suggest that both medical and non-medical facemasks are ineffective to block human-to-human transmission of viral and infectious disease such SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19, supporting against the usage of facemasks. Wearing facemasks has been demonstrated to have substantial adverse physiological and psychological effects. These include hypoxia, hypercapnia, shortness of breath, increased acidity and toxicity, activation of fear and stress response, rise in stress hormones, immunosuppression, fatigue, headaches, decline in cognitive performance, predisposition for viral and infectious illnesses, chronic stress, anxiety and depression. Long-term consequences of wearing facemask can cause health deterioration, developing and progression of chronic diseases and premature death. Governments, policy makers and health organizations should utilize prosper and scientific evidence-based approach with respect to wearing facemasks, when the latter is considered as preventive intervention for public health.

Mask Mandates Caused MORE COVID Deaths, Study Alleges.

Once upon a time, the DOJ, said it would appeal a judges ruling against mandatory mask wearing on airplanes if the CDC asked it to. Well, the CDC asked the DOJ to appeal and the DOJ said it would.

It seems that settled science (political science) has trumped this stance as it seems this case has been put to the wayside.

The DOJ is supposed to be apolitical. Just add this to the Department of Jokes memes.

https://journals.lww.com/md-journal/Fulltext/2022/02180/The_Foegen_effect__A_mechanism_by_which_facemasks.60.aspx

A parallelization analysis based on county-level data showed that in Kansas, counties with mask mandate had significantly higher case fatality rates than counties without mask mandate, with a risk ratio of 1.85 (95% confidence interval [95% CI]: 1.51–2.10) for COVID-19-related deaths. Even after adjusting for the number of “protected persons,” that is, the number of persons who were not infected in the mask-mandated group compared to the no-mask group, the risk ratio remained significantly high at 1.52 (95% CI: 1.24–1.72). By analyzing the excess mortality in Kansas, this study determines that over 95% of this effect can solely be attributed to COVID-19.

These findings suggest that mask use might pose a yet unknown threat to the user instead of protecting them, making mask mandates a debatable epidemiologic intervention.

The cause of this trend is explained herein using the “Foegen effect” theory; that is, deep re-inhalation of hypercondensed droplets or pure virions caught in facemasks as droplets can worsen prognosis and might be linked to long-term effects of COVID-19 infection.

We’ll get into the details shortly, but the conclusion gives a fantastic overview of the results:

While no cause-effect conclusions could be inferred from this observational analysis, the lack of negative correlations between mask usage and COVID-19 cases and deaths suggest that the widespread use of masks at a time when an effective intervention was most needed, i.e., during the strong 2020-2021 autumn-winter peak, was not able to reduce COVID-19 transmission. Moreover, the moderate positive correlation between mask usage and deaths in Western Europe also suggests that the universal use of masks may have had harmful unintended consequences.

The paper’s stated most important finding: “... contrary to the accepted thought that fewer people are dying because infection rates are reduced by masks, this was not the case … Results from this study strongly suggest that mask mandates actually caused about 1.5 times the number of deaths or ~50% more deaths compared to no mask mandates.” The study theorized that the so-called “Foegen effect,” whereby hypercondensed droplets caught by masks are re-inhaled and introduced deeper into the respiratory tract, could be responsible for the increased Covid mortality rate.

I am at Bush airport N of Houston. Federal checkpoints have "masks mandatory" signs with officers wearing them. Over 95% of diverse Texans dont and just ignore the signs. Officers dont say anything.
A few older and infirm people are the only ones wearing masks. In contrast, my wife returned recently from Minneapolis and it is infected with maskholes.

I think we are separating more and more into two different countries.

I'm not hippy dippy, but we do go to a holistic pediatrician. Still get the normal vaccinations. The doc is a really cool chick. She has to require masks I guess getting into the building. Once in the room though she says take that shit off. Not a joke. In front of my kid. If she was hot my dick would have punctured my shorts.

First time I've worn a mask since flying to Mexico. Was fucking weird. 6 months I think? Travel is the only time I put one on now at this point.

Smoke goes right through masks and the coronavirus is much smaller.

In Mexico City right now and often a majority of people walking down the street are masked. Can't go into any museum without them.

Carbon dioxide rises beyond acceptable safety levels in children under nose and mouth covering: Results of an experimental measurement study in healthy children
Environ Res. 2022 Sep; 212: 113564. 2022 May 28. doi: 10.1016/j.envres.2022.113564

This shocking paper had no coverage by the state-sponsored media, even though it shows that the average CO2 levels in inhaled air with nose and mouth coverings in children between age 6 and 17 is well beyond acceptable levels. ...

In conclusion we have produced experimental data that show that carbon dioxide content in inhaled air rises on average to 13,000 to 13,750 ppm no matter whether children wear a surgical or an FFP2 mask. This is far beyond the level of 2,000 ppm considered the limit of acceptability and beyond the 1,000 ppm that are normal for air in closed rooms. This estimate is rather on the low side, as we only measured this after a short time without physical exertion. Decision makers and law courts should take this into consideration when establishing rules and guidance to fight infections.

They generally didn't enforce it the two times I went, but that was Cancun area. Probably to not hurt tourism. I've never gotten sick in Mexico and I usually forget to use the bottled water when brushing my teeth. Otherwise it's mimosa or beer. I do not trust their water supply though some hotels/resorts have their own filtration. Mexico City is obviously a different trip, but I'm betting you're getting some great authentic Mexican food. I want a taco now...

Tangent aside, masks obviously don't do shit or covid would have ceased to exist and our own medial god Fauci said they didn't work.
