I believe USD demand is going to throw off lots of traders due to the fact it will take a massive # of USDs to unwrap the leverage that exist in
commodity shorts, metals and oil particularly. Due to a lack of non-discretionary dollars for the time being metals and crypto go sideways with more
odds of going down some while leverage that was used to short is slowly being pulled out and becomes dry powder to in time reinvest long provoking big
moves to the upside. Both gold and btc have very strong floors gold 1840+/- and btc 40k+/- which imo have tall odds of price being tested in those areas . The same for
oil dipping in price with the fact trader short leverage came in strong at >125 and then Bidens oil drain of US reserves taking oil to it's floor of $85+/- a barrel.
JPY is a main player in shorting commodities and it's weakness kind of indicates that leverage is slowly being closed. In the mean time I am very much looking
for the USD index to reach min. 101+/- and possibly 104+/-. The commodities are approaching the line at the christmas tree for the USD to pop to it's top
then it's epic crash and commodities enter it's epic super cycle. The commodities super cycle will only come if/when USD makes it's final approach to the upside
and imo it has not done so. Although this chart was plotted more with the idea of crypto moves it applies to commodities in general.
So with the shorts and supply chain issues USD is more fundamentally and technically setup to make a run up not dump as soon as many think. Same for S&P

It's bad, but not too bad in IL. Had just under 1/4 tank and it was $92 to fill up yesterday. I drive basically the largest non-utility vehicle, truck or van you can drive. I don't blink as we make that in less than an hour, but yeah, my fill ups are at least 30-40% higher. It's nuts.
This is a massive tax on the poor and middle class. It's sad because I know people that are getting burned by this. We need to stop worrying about being "green" and let the market work itself out. I know there's been issues with oil, but does it matter? The huge BP leak in the Gulf of Mexico. That was near one of my favorite places on the planet. There is no difference 10 years later or whatever it has been. A fuck ton of oil was spewing out and the beaches look the same as they always have.
There's micro and macro. On a micro level, sure, some birds and other fish and wildlife got fucked up. But they'll recover. Macro, it's like dropping a penny in a 100k gallon swimming pool. No one will notice it.
We need to be energy independent. That's pretty much reason 1 or 2 that most conflicts arise from. Resources and or profits to get said resources to other people willing to pay for it.

Through the 50's and mid-60's, it hovered between 1% and 2% along with a booming economy with a few short recessions. In 1966, the first year spending programs of The Great Society went into effect, it was 3.5%, by 1969 it was 6.2% and it was off and running. It scared Nixon, who imposed wage and price controls in two phases between '71 and '72 to get re-elected and they abated a bit but were ineffective in the long run. Safely in office by '73, the controls were removed and with the Arab Oil Embargo, prices exploded to double digits every month in 1974 for a 13.4% yearly average and would set the tone for the rest of the 70's.

One nice thing about $6.00 gas in LA is that the traffic is much better! My commutes are fairly tolerable lately! And I drive a hybrid so I’m not feeling the pinch much. Seriously less cars on the road. The oldsters are forced to keep their Oldsmobiles garaged and not take random pleasure drives to slow down traffic. Otherwise they’ll have to eat cat food.

No issues in getting gas in this part of the Northeast. Gas Buddy reports it at $4.259 in my area. Haven't bought gas in a while though.

It's about 20 pesos/liter. 20 pesos=$1 USD 1 US gallon=3.785 liters=$3.79 per gallon.
The government Mexico has controls over prices of some things which are considered essential, including some foodstuffs, electricity, etc.
It's a little weird because while Mexico produces crude oil, it must import some gasoline from the USA.
For my friends in Mexico, $3.79 is still very much money to spend on this necessity.

SUV space, comfort and towing. Can't do that with a minivan. Also, very mild off roading/camping SUV has a higher clearance on rough dirt/gravel roads.

It’s a massive disaster for low and middle income Los Angeles residents. I’m talking mostly people in the $40-80k range(no one with income lower than that should be driving a car in LA). Public transportation in LA curently is not safe or sanitary due to the explosion of homeless people thanks to Eric Garcetti. So driving 30-40 miles a day to get to work and back, in mostly non electric vehicles that are older and likely gas guzzlers….we are talking several hundred dollars a month more for people that don’t have that much money.
I know gas prices hurt for everyone, but who actually pays attention? Around 10 years ago I stopped giving a shit about prices. Drive a gas guzzling SUV.
