Arrived in London this morning. Internet is spotty, but I'll try to report thoughts.

- almost no homeless, saw just one so far
- lots of trash though
- prices seem reasonable, a bit lower than SF, but that's because the pound is so low against the dollar
- the majority of people on the street are clearly not English; they are from everywhere else on earth

I did not know there was a Saint Chad:

https://dailytelegraph.co.nz/news/uk-grandfather-dies-in-prison-after-controversial-sentencing-for-anti-immigration-protest/

Peter Lynch, a 61-year-old grandfather, has died in HMP Moorland, reportedly taking his own life after being jailed for his involvement in a protest against the housing of illegal immigrants.

Lynch was sentenced to two years and eight months in August following a protest at the Holiday Inn Express in Rotherham, where tensions had risen over the government’s immigration policies. Protesters believed the voices of local citizens were being ignored as more asylum seekers were placed in their towns.

During the protest, Lynch expressed frustration at authorities and the media, holding a placard calling them “corrupt”, and yelling at officers.

His sentencing drew criticism from those who felt the punishment was harsh for what they saw as a legitimate outcry over unchecked immigration and the strain it places on local communities.

Lynch had no previous criminal record.

I'm pretty sure Lynch did not kill himself.

They have been for a while. Even in the 80s and 90s a Brit's whole paycheck is spent by the end of the month. Brexit was a good first step but they need to fire their whole establishment and kick the snack bars out

Yes, I remember when I was there in 1980 and again in the early 90s, most Brits did not fill up the car's petrol tank. They usually only bought a few litres to get through the week and bought more fuel after payday.

https://babylonbee.com/cleanArticle/paddington-bear-arrested-for-telling-muslim-immigrants-to-be-more-polite

According to police, the young bear — found to be named Paddington — was roughly pushed aside by a Muslim immigrant who then proceeded to stab several women. Paddington reportedly gave the Muslim a hard stare and asked him to be more polite and to "please stop killing everyone," much to the shock and dismay of onlookers.

"I can't believe he would just talk to a Muslim like that," said Eleanor Heevley, a local manicurist native to Islington. "You can't just tell someone to deny their culture. That's dreadfully racist."

The frightened Muslim immigrant was identified as Muhammad Muhammad Akmed Muhammed. Through the help of a translator, he said it may take several more years of stabbing random people to get over the hateful incident.

Part of the problem of being an island country with not a ton of land. Green energy is kind of stupid that far north. Wind I suppose but they look ridiculous. I can't see them from my house but there's a ton of wind mills in a nearby town. If you took all the wind turbines in IL, CA, and TX they couldn't spin because the blades would hit each other in the UK.

I'd rather have one transmission line from a nuke than all these tall fuckers spinning and looking like shit. It's a novelty at first time seeing them. But after that it's like shit, those things are ugly. And solar is primarily useless this time of year in the UK given daylight and cloud cover.

They basically invested a bunch of money into something that's not going to work for their geography. No wonder we had a revolution from them.
