I thought UBI was an extortion bribe to the criminal element to keep them from enhanced mayhem.

I'm glad everybody in Stockton has cigarette money now.
105439   SunnyvaleCA   2019 Oct 4, 11:15am

They're doing it all wrong... $500/month just isn't high enough! /sarc

Actually, they are doing it all wrong. It should be $1000/month and no other welfare. Once all the section-8 housing support is cancelled, each section-8 dweller will have to double-up with another section-8 dweller to stretch the UBI budget. Viola! There is plenty of open housing.

Out of curiosity, what the heck do people actually do in Stockton?

For example:

"The Port of Stockton is a major inland deepwater port in Stockton, California located on the Stockton Channel and San Joaquin River before it joins the Sacramento River to empty into Suisun Bay, eighty miles inland. The port sits on about 4,200 acres (17 km2), and occupies an island in the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta, and a portion of a neighborhood known as Boggs Tract. It is governed by a commission appointed by the City of Stockton and San Joaquin County. In 2012 it supported 4,500 jobs and made about $4.9 million in local tax funds"

No, it's not just you...There are an unlimited amount of TOTAL idiots.....the funny thing is, imagine if their wetdream came true and trump and pence were eliminated and pelosi was president...What changes do they expect would happen with pelosi at the helm? How would their life improve? would a couple of more wars in foreign countries improve their lives. Would more welfare improve the lives of the working stiff or the medium wealthy? Would opening the border improve their lives?

105454   SunnyvaleCA   2019 Oct 4, 1:43pm

After Biden and (maybe) Gabbard, Yang might actually be the least-bad of the Democrat candidates. His other ideas aren't quite as extreme and UBI isn't going to happen in the next 20 years anyway. At least with UBI the idea is plain and simple for all to see. Therefore, people can more easily see just how it's not going to work. If we get UBI and cancel all other welfare, the country might wind up saving money in the long run.

Another beauty with UBI is that it's so obvious a 3rd-world beacon that even Democrats might have to realize we need to close the borders and enforce US laws.

Bold face lie or actual high crime or misdemeanor, you got nothing.

There are a lot of people out there that are really suffering from cognitive dissonance, including myself. I want to be a patriotic American but I know our system is rotten to the core. Trump is just as likely someones puppet (not Putin) as anyone's savior. It's all political theatre.

Still, I'm cheering for the former reality show billionaire who wants to make America great over any of the candidates who have openly stated they want to take my rights and steal the fruit of my hard work so someone "less fortunate" can reproduce.

I think it would follow that one should not indulge in hyperbole, right? Because, it's lying, and one should not lie, because it is bad.

Yet, that very post is itself indulging in hyperbole lol! And worse, it's linking to CNN, a news station which indulges in hyperbole to very high degrees.

Last I checked, the news is all lit up with Republicans going apeshit about the Kremlin Cocksucker's Crimes.

What is "the news"? How do journalists decide what is news and what is not? How do they distinguish between a big news story and a small one? The answer is that they do it in exactly the same way as everybody else. Everybody makes those same judgments whenever they decide to talk about one event rather than another.
So I guess it's what "journalists" lolol decide they want to talk about..
105472   richwicks   2019 Oct 4, 11:28pm

Trump hasn't lied us into a war yet like Iraq, Libya, or Iraq.

Good enough.

I see that people will endlessly bitch about one, but not the other. I guess it's OK to lie in order to kill a few million people and waste a few trillion dollars. But, by god, don't engage in hyperbole!! That's wrong and very very bad!!

Prioritize your outrage.

I had this discussion on a business trip. Many Americans somewhat like Trump's policies but they are overpowered by the Overton window (shifted to cultural marxist radical) of "white supremacist" screeching leftoids so they stay quiet or agree with the WS BS out of embarrassment and fear of consequences. It's possible to red pill some though simply by stating the curt truth that Hitler was a WS but Trump isn't.
105474   Ceffer   2019 Oct 5, 12:18am

Majority of Americans now believe that Kennedy's assassination was an inside job, well after the fact and well after most of the principles can be tried or pay any price. Of course, they even talked Trump into keeping a lot of the classified info secret for longer time.

I think acknowledging that 9/11 was an inside job is just too ineffable for most citizens to absorb, and most still prefer to stay in their 'protected shell' world. I would recommend that those of fragile sensibilities stay in that shell, because if you look into 9/11 in any detail with the information that is now commonly available, you'll shudder.

Yes, Shrubby Bush just happened to be in front of a classroom full of children when he had his photo op 9/11 expression shot, which looked to me like "Damn, you think they are going to catch us at this? They'll hang us!" There never should have been an expression shot, secret service agents should have shuttled him off as soon as they got the info.

You wonder why psychopaths do these things? It's 'to get away with it' and to play the game. A lot of what they do seems senseless, but much is pure audacious theater and is not designed to benefit anybody but themselves. Some of it is just the sadism and indifference of the ruling elite.

The press shot of the Clintons when they heard of Epstein's 'suicide' was pure psychopath gloat. I thought I kept the picture but it got lost in the shuffle.

Overton window only defines what you're allowed to bring up, it doesn't limit what people think, and it limits how they can phrase things.

If I say "Trump is a good president because he's not started a new war", here in Silicon Valley - people will be upset because I said "Trump is a good president". I'm violating the Overton window there. If, however, I say "I'd more pleased with Trump than Obama or Bush because either through incompetence of genius, he's managed not to start a new war, and I don't care if he's incompetent at starting a new war or because he's intentionally frustrating attempts", I'm OK - because I've hinted he might be incompetent, I'm alluding to the fact that he's anything but a genius, but the results are what people can agree with. They might secretly think he IS a genius, but they don't have to voice it.

stuff...

Because I'm intoxicated and bored, I'm going to comment on this for no real reason.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the younger generation's general distrust of the government. Ironically, what has been holding the entire country back, is the boomer generation that protested the Vietnam war and rioted against the government and even KNEW the government lied them into Vietnam with the release of the Pentagon Papers, which Mike Gravel read into the congressional record using his immunity from prosecution to declassify it as a Congressional member.

This... idiot, generation, have been the most mindless bleating sheep this nation has ever seen. They screwed over their parents, and their kids, and believed every single lie of the government from 1975 onward, no matter how goofy it got. Even when corruption was exposed, like Bush lying us into a war, they did nothing, they accepted it, they told the other generations to shut up.

Everything the psychopaths in that generation did (and they've been running the government since 1992 or so), wasn't just to mock the other generations - it's just pure incompetence on their part. They are really a totally worthless, clueless generation. Hillary Clinton GENUINELY doesn't understand why people wouldn't vote for somebody that voted for the "Authorization to Use Force in Iraq" and became the Butcher of Libya. She ACTUALLY believes it's because "they hate me because I'm a woman". She's so fucking stupid she doesn't realize that anybody that has done any looking into the Clinton foundation, that it's a blatantly obvious pay for play fraud, she doesn't realize that it's blatantly obvious she was selling information on her "private" server, or that her husband was taking bribes from Russia in speeches, as she gave the thumbs up on Uranium One.

The boomer generation MUST have been subject to something that just made them stupid, seriously. The entire generation, with a few exceptions, are a group of sociopathic high functioning retards and they seriously don't recognize that the entire country knows what they did. They were the do nothing generation and as their power wanes, the nation will heal.

I'm in generation X, only scum from my generation is willing to work for the gubermint, and they are kept in positions of lower functionaries - as a result only the stupidest, least competent, least moral, of my generation work for them. Those assholes won't be able to hold it together, if it lasts that long. The USSR collapsed for the same reason. Buckle up buttercup, rough ride ahead.
