The Washington Post?

Perhaps it was tear gas, but to find out - get it from a reliable source.

More lies! Blatant miserable misrepresentation by you poster Thomas Dong. I contested that the protestors are peaceful...clearly they were declared an unlawful assembly and after failure to disperse, police can take forceful action to remove them.

@patrick do you now see why civil discourse is not possible?

This is why I trolled people. There is no other recourse in these situations other than turn the Alinsky book back at them.

I have morals. I don’t like slinging poo. But when I do, I can keep up with the best of them.

Perhaps you can explain to us why Trump is demanding the details be "corrected" in an event you say didn't happen.

We do agree, however, that civil discourse isn't possible, because no matter what is said or posted, you will continue to insist you are correct, all the while offering absolutely nothing to back your opinions up. You're like the old-school parent who's only rationale is "because I said so". If that's what passes for "morals" in the con world, no wonder the country is in such dire straits.

Again you misrepresent what I stated. I didn’t sta the event didn’t occur. Ever. I said it didn’t occur as the Washington Post, and you by extension are claiming it did.

In other words you lied, you doubled down on the lie, you changed the topic, misatributed my statements, and changed the conversation.

I’m starting to see why you originally cited the Washington Post.

Although now I see that the White House is saying tear gas wasn’t deployed. Not sure that matters or not. The cops can disperse an unlawful assembly which by definition can’t possibly be peaceful as the Washington Post falsely stated.

Yes, we should get it from Fox News and Breitbart or some other no-name blog. The first step to fascism is to discredit the MSM who are against the ruling party and prop your media. The fact is that Wapo allows opinion pieces from all sides. Mitch McConnel comes to mind, and I am sure I can dig up many more. Granted that they are not perfect, but they are damn good.

6. Anytime you talk about Racism, Trumpsters will talk about "Blacks are coming to kill you"

Statistically, on the pure race threshold, which race kills the other at a higher rate? Not talking inter race, black on black or white on white. Which race kills the other at a higher frequency? There's a statistical and factual answer to this question. Be honest.

I don't know when it happened, race being tied to a political leaning or party. There are some unbecoming memes about race here, but I'm not certain I've seen any racist here. You need to check out some other forums maybe before judging the crowd here. We're all more alike here than you think. You may not like the comments, but the data backs up what most write here. Most stuff is backed up with links here. Even if they're suspect, at least most users try. Some don't.

It's fine that you don't like Trump. Just saying that:

1. It's not the most important thing in the world to hate him.
2. You help solidify support for Trump by using words like "Trumpsters". You're not even helping your own cause.
3. It's harmful to all of us to be divided and weak in the face of real exploitation by global capital and China.

It's not just frequency. The absolute numbers of whites killed by blacks is larger than the reverse, even though blacks are 12% of the population and whites are 74%.

Sure:

https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2016/crime-in-the-u.s.-2016/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-3.xls

In 2016, there were 533 whites murdered by blacks, and only 243 blacks murdered by whites.

I posted a list of how I have personally been affected by black crime. I'll try to find that.

This data has been posted zillion times on here, even directly pulled from the government's criminal databases. Yet every time you ask "got a source?" What we have never seen though is a single data point or study even remotely hinting at white on black racism. Since you and the looneyeft are claiming "systemic racism" and implemented harmful consequences yet even calling for more unconstitutional intervention, you have to provide the source and links since you are protesting and demanding changes. Maybe I have singled you out wrongly and you're not claiming that there is a systemic problem of White on black racism. But if you are, WHERE is your statistically significant data? I'm not even claiming that there is a big enough problem of black on white racism as there are other explanations for the variance in crime rates, but to arrive at the opposite is unscientific at least, delusional at worst. The cop was a major asshole and they are now all charged for 2nd degree murder (which is almost too high to prove and a risk for the trial given a clever defense) or lesser. They will all face the consequences they deserve. But there's zero reason to think the asshole cop would not have given the same treatment to a strong meaty redneck resisting arrest. Latinos and Whites die due to police brutality at the same rate.

Two more things:

When was the last time a "Trumpist" has posted about birther or pizzagate stuff on patnet? You will have to go deep into the archives, birther stuff may be years old. Compare that to Jazz's mother jones / salon / buzzkill threads about some absurd Trump fascism/racism connection day by day.

The other:

Consider yourself getting into a situation where you end up killing a black person unintentionally, maybe you wanted to protect your family in a riot / car blockade, during a possible home intrusion or a similar situation. Maybe you were too trigger / gas pedal happy and have to take some of the blame. Now imagine a mob of millions of people coming after you and your family because certainly there's only one reason you did what you did and it must be !racism! since that is possibly the only reason a white person ends up killing a black person! You could be the most devoted civil rights defender and black lives matter activist, you will be crucified! This is how far we have come, bank on it.

Right - also I remember Kate Steinle didn't pay with a fake $20 bill and didn't resist any arrest, yet she was shot point blank at the SF pier by an illegal criminal and died in her father's arms with most of her life in front of her. The illegal walked free and nobody protested insane sanctuary policies cause clearly not all lives matter.

Yes, it was a photo op at a church. A large percentage of Americans are religious (I'm not) and this helps comfort them. Protestors around the POTUS during this time ain't a good thing whether you like him or not. If you think things are fucked up now, wait until there's some assassination attempt. Risk was too high and a few people had to cry on the way home. Cost of doing business so to speak.

US Park Police.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. Park Police is denying it used tear gas to disperse a crowd of protesters outside the White House on Monday night, saying officers instead used smoke canisters and pepper balls to aggressively push back the demonstrators.

Protesters scrambled as smoke filled the streets and AP journalists witnessed people reacting to their eyes and throats becoming irritated. Journalists covering the protest reported the crowd was largely peaceful at the time; the Park Police said they were responding to protesters throwing items, including bricks and frozen water bottles at law enforcement.

Of course, if they were throwing bricks and frozen water bottles, then I'm for tear gas, rubber bullets, and if that don't work, live ammo.

What facts are in an article from the Washington Post? There are few because they editorialize their news content. But you wouldn’t know that from Tim’s postings...nor Jazz’s...nor Thomas Dungs....

Because they link articles without commenting!

You can’t cite an opinion piece( which every single WaPo article is and most NYT articles are) as fact of anything.

The divide isn’t ideological, it’s fact vs opinion. For instance the article Thomas Dung linked earlier today stating that officers fired tear gas into a peaceful crowd. It’s an utterly absurd statement on face value and any rational person would realize were not in communist China or Syria or some other third world shithole where cops indiscriminately attack masses of innocent people. Yet there is was in all glory as a WaPo headline. And Thomas Dung linked and cited it thinking he is some anti Trump genius.
